Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Samuel Smith Taddy Porter is, like, AWESOME!

Literally. Well, that's what Linus tells me. :D:cool::thumbsup:

Great pics David, I spent quite a bit of time in Kent when I was around 20, mainly in Maidstone, but I have never visited Rochester. As you know, I don't get out of Yorkshire much these days ;)

Thanks Mark, yes, that is the 2018 Guardians Lambsfoot SFO in ebony. Monkey had gone today, so I just hope he went back to the right home :)

That's incredible about the penny, sounds like just the sort of thing a granddad would do :D Nice history there my friend, and an excellent pic :) I picked up a nice pair of Wiss flower shears once, but gave them away

My Ashley's Choice SFO Lambsfoot is with me today :) Hope everyone is having a good one

Thanks Jack, for the kind words. Very nice shears and a lovely pic of your AC.

Shovel art eh? I've got to say that's a new one on me o_O We have 'car boot sales' over here which usually have some bloke selling old tools. Apparently quite popular since some journo' a few years ago published a piece in some magazine that claimed new tools were crap and old tools were pure quality. I dare say he was probably right in some respects.
I like the expression 'Hump Day' :D Unfortunately as a shift worker I guess I have a couple of 'humps' a week. :D

What a great shot; and it's great you still have your grandfather's scissors. You probably know this but the yellow pair are 'kitchen scissors, hence the bottle opener and nut cracker.

And why the blazes would you want to? It's pretty wild country outside of God's Own ya know...:D

Aye Kent seems a nice county; not as populated as you'd think given it's proximity to London. I don't know it particularly well but try to visit once a year as I've a friend down there.
Those Wiss shears look immaculate.

Is that a glass bottle as well?! Blimey, there as rare as hen's teeth! I gave up HP Sauce when they switched production to the Netherlands out of the UK.
New to me too, David! Thanks a lot. I think I am lucky to have them as well. They mean a great deal to me with all of the memories tied to them. Thanks for the info on the kitchen shears.

I will have to see if I can get a hold of some of that 3 Castles.
Smashing pic of your Ashley that you posted today.

Excellent pair of '19s, Mark.
I have some of those Clauss electrician scissors, built like a tank. I read that they were through hardened so they could take the hard use they might get in the field.

Have a good Thursday, Guardians!
Thanks Kevin and thanks for showing your pair with that lovely horn lambfoot. They are made tough to be sure!

Take a couple of days off, then take a day to catch back up :)

Envious of the trip to Denver. Seeing a show at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre is definitely on the bucket list. Condolences for your loss as well. Hardest part of having pets is filling the holes in life they leave behind. He was a handsome guy!

I used to have a Wrist Rocket type when I was younger. They were a lot of fun. The biggest change now is the quality of the tubes/flat bands you can get. The other day I put new tubes on one (same as yours with the brace above) for a family member, and he couldn't believe the difference. Easier to draw, and surprising speed out of them. Those antler ones of yours look great :)

That's a great looking slingshot! Love the green tubes, Jack :D

Still the rosewood L'il Lambsfoot. Can't say enough how much I like this little guy! Sorry for the recycled photo, but wanted to have some knife content in my post ;)

Thank you sir. I will have to track down and try some new bands. Cool pic of your Rosewood.

Thank you very much, Jack!:)

Thanks, I really do appreciate it, Dave!:thumbsup:

Working on it, my friend!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

It aught to be nice when finished!! Is that a genuine JohnDF saddle back there?:D:thumbsup:

Your 'Black Jack' by Jack Black is looking extraordinary, Gary!!

Thank you so very much for popping in and the best wishes, Dwight! I do appreciate it, my friend! Hope to see more of you in these woods!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

That is awsome, Dan, Congratulations to her and your whole family!! Her success reflects greatly on her upbringing!
"Music is the food of the soul, country, jazz, or rock and roll ", Hoyt Axton. And of course Classical!

Looks good to me, John! I like a smooth, thin single blade!;)

My most sincere condolences on the loss of Saxon, it's always hard to lose your running buddy!

That is some great looking tools, Mark!!

Wow! You got gold there! Each Lambsfoot is a treasure! Nice shot, Mark!

That is outstanding, good for you for the meals on wheels, Bill! And a grand lamb for the assist!:thumbsup:

RALF looks magical, Jeff!!:D:thumbsup:

Hope the monkey found his way home, but he does look content packing the Lamb!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Cool photo, Jack!;)

Dandy Ebony, Ed! :cool::thumbsup:

Your zombie Killing Kit!:D:thumbsup: Looks great, Jack!

Good thing it wasn't an emergency! Ain't nobody got time for that!:D

Another Fantastic Foto of a Fantastic knife, Harvey!

:p:thumbsup:
Perfect, Kevin!

My folks use to roll their own, they also had the little machine that would roll it up.

Fantastic pairing, Dylan!!:)

Sorry folks, I inadvertently hit the Post button before finishing the comments.

Thanks for the compliments Dennis. Great pics there yourself!

Ramrodmb Ramrodmb - went back a couple of pages and see that I didn’t answer your question, Mark. It’s a sterling silver Bomb Bead.
@mitch4ging - Thank you kindly, Dennis. Here’s to things going better for you, my friend.
Thanks Harvey! I see you had answered it previously for someone else. I was confused there, thanks for straightening me out.

My folks rolled their own too but it wasn't tobacco. :p:D

That is good to know, thanks Jack.
I have read that D&R's 3 Sails is very close to it. I tried to go on their website but they require a scan/ picture of my drivers license... I don't really feel comfortable with that. I will go down to the local tobacco store and see what they have.

Very cool pic Kevin!

JohnDF JohnDF - Skoll looks beautiful and I bet feels better in hand. Great job! I sanded mine a little but went up through 600 grit and then gave a light buffing.
Do you find the Old English to have darkened it up very much? Again, looks great, my friend!

@CelloDan - Great pics and I loved the one of Kiki in the shower!
I think John may be correct with the Dr. Doolittle reference!:D

Campbellclanman Campbellclanman - Great photos of your stunning Lambfoot SFO's, Duncan. I'd be interested in your thoughts on the performance of the Damascus after some use. Just beautiful with the Snakewood!

The Ironwood slabs on my 2019 SFO from Jack Black look very different in varying light but always beautiful. IMO:D. Thanks Jack!:thumbsup:

It's been a minging autumn! I was cycling in my summer kit this time last year. This year; winter jumpers out. Winter quilts out, and the leaf fall must be 6 weeks early at least. Have you seen the high peaks in northern England? Brutal minus temps and snow.

Winter is Coming... :D

The soup is off a Youtube channel.

Yes, hasn't it? :(

Interesting soup, I've not used red onions in that way before, only having made French Onion Soup. I'll have to give it a try, I always have red onions in. I may skip the dressing up part :D

With all the recent discussion of bread I was going to use the breadmaker but when I looked at my flour I found it was infested with weevils... :(

By Nelson's blood!

Happy Saturday!

Cheers Taylor :)

I thought this was a lovely compliment of fall colors.

Thanks Mark, hope you're having a good one :) Those photos are fantastic, they really show off the wood :)

Morning Guardians, hope everyone's weekend is going well :) It seems we have a pause in the rain here today  I've got a few things to do in the house, then I might get out for a bit. Some of my neighbours have been talking about having a get-together if the weather is OK. Since that will involve food of some sort, and there's invariably a shortage of sharp knives, I'll be taking my own ;) Have a spectacular Sunday folks :)

Great pic Duncan, hope you're doing well and have a good weekend with those two

Thank you Jack, Today I carried my Lovely Damascus, A lovely weekend with great healing continuing, but struck with sadness of a Death of a Knife collecting friend here - which has knocked me more than I realised, and the news of my very good friend ( the wife of Gary on my Sig line )- who has learned that she too will soon leave us.

Life is beautiful, that I have learned, but man, for some it knocks the hell out of you along the way.
So tomorrow I am going Plant a nice row of Perennials to enjoy their everlasting colour that nature gives us and think of my friends as I settle these colourful additions into their new home.
My Hartshead will be there on the Job!

Hey pal, sorry to hear about all that bad news, life can be hard as well as beautiful. I'm glad you're continuing to heal yourself, and hope that you continue to feel stronger and healthier. I'm sure your very positive outlook will help Duncan :) Enjoy the rest of your weekend my friend

Here, it's stopped raining at least, and I'm just having my Sunday Sausage Sandwich

Bummer. That's why I keep flour in the fridge, along with the condiments. ;)

I'm going to have the same, but made with leftover barbecue sausage, and some whole grain German rye bread. It should make a very hearty breakfast.

The English oil didn't seem to darken it at all. It looks pretty much the same.

Great comparison shots in different light. I think that's why we all like Ironwood so much.:thumbsup:

I was pretty full after all that. My son had a big slice of peanut butter pie after he finished his. I feel like such a slacker. ;)

Great picture, Jack. You seem to have a great collection of old bottle openers.:thumbsup:

I may have to have one of those for breakfast. :)

Looks good, Jer. :cool::thumbsup:

Very nice Mark. It is interesting how the appearance of these knives change in different light - grains seem to shift and the color of the covers too.
