While I agree with you, potatoes are better than apples... I have to get my fruit in somewhere.Les pommes de terre sont meilleures que les pommes, Jean. ("Potatoes [apples of the ground] are better than apples, John.")

I understand. Having fruitcake for dessert tonight! While I agree with you, potatoes are better than apples... I have to get my fruit in somewhere.![]()
You know a really interesting experiment would be to see if those birds have begun to associate your lambsfoot knives with food.
Yip. Your right. I'd rather drink water.
The Barley Wine was 'ok', but I wouldn't buy it again and it wasn't worth the price I paid for it.![]()
Still are in our house.

Don't remind me...
After a couple of weeks vacation, this feels very Monday-ish.![]()
The three things that I try to practice for blade shaving; Technique, technique, and technique. I no longer use a straight razor because I don't believe in self sacrifice. However, the single and double blade razors I own and use still offer plenty of blood letting opportunities

Did they come wrapped in paper?Apparently oranges/tangerines/clementines have a very long traditional association with Christmas. When I was a kid, we'd get an apple, an orange, and a new penny in our stockings, but I don't know if that was just a local tradition

Here in south Texas I remember getting oranges--maybe apples, too--and nuts (walnuts, pecans, Brazil nuts, filberts, almonds)Perfect.
No I've not seen that in a while, but I remember when they did. These were just a box from Morrisons.
I also recall my dad telling me they used to get oranges/tangerines at Christmas so it must of been a tradition in Lancashire to.![]()
Thank you John. Holding history in your hand is a great feeling. Nice plate of goodness.Such a cool old Lambsfoot.![]()

I have had a heap of dental work done, most of it years ago through neglect. And one of the most important people you must have in your life, is a really good dentist that you have the utmost faith and trust in. Go and get someone who comes highly recommended my friend.![]()

I'm sure it's hit a lot of folks like a ton of bricks! There certainly wasn't much work getting done in my dental surgery
I phoned half a dozen times without success, went into the office to find the 2 thick-as-two-short-planks receptionists sat there gawping at Facebook on their personal phones. The dentist had actually left the practice, and I couldn't get an appointment to see the new one for over a week
I really need to find another dentist
She's a looker John![]()
Having seen the blood-letting in The Four Feathers, I make sure I just stick to the one![]()

Great video, Dan! Those little guys can lose half their body weight overnight, during a cold winter. I don't like to miss a day filling my feeders in the winter time.In the beginning it took longer for them to come to my hand if I was holding the knife as well.
It was evident as they would just fly over to my wife's and kids hands and I had to wait longer for my chance.
They soon seemed to get over it and started coming to me with no issues.
Then I developed my premium secret line of bird feed LOLand now they mob us. This video was taken on a super cold day in which they were acting extra bold ...almost frantic.
I guess they needed the extra caloriesto survive.
In the middle of summer is hard sometimes to even get the chance to feed one or two (if you are lucky).
When I was a boy, tangerines were very traditional here at Christmas, not so much now. Quality photo Bill![]()
And oranges!Still are in our house.

OUCH! Between you and Jack, my teeth now hurt!Ouch, Jack! You have my sympathy there! I had a bad year in that regard as well. Cracked an implant and two crowns (three separate events). The last crown that cracked didn't leave enough tooth behind to rebuild, so they had to extract. Left a bit behind, and had to have oral surgery to remove it. They'll be finishing the implant in a couple weeks.

And like VincePrester John , growing up in New Mexico, we got oranges, walnuts, pecans etc... in our stockings along with a couple of small gifts.
Jack Black - Thank you Jack. Your Hartshead has a lovely view. Sorry that you’re still experiencing dental vexations. Here’s to a quick resolution.
