Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Sure, sure, no frijoles, but tell me I'm not seeing olives in that chili. o_O Is that a California thing? Talk about opening up a whole other issue to argue about.
A 'nother can o' beans, so to speak! :p

Absolutely, olives are a traditional Californio thing. I could not be a Paisano (used in the slang form here as native Californio) if it didn't have olives. My daughter Smoke is a "Descendente". A descendent of one of the few original Spanish families here before the US invasion in 1846.

Todavía estoy aquí! Olives in everything! Even if they are canned! But frijoles? No. While not a lambsfoot, this is one of my Vaquero model. It is handled in Mission Olivewood. Supposedly the seedlings that started the grove that this wood came from (and the grove is now long dead) came from Mission San Luis Obispo.

Thanks Jack!

Appreciate the compliment GT:thumbsup:

I was wondering why we hadn't seen RALF for awhile, Jeff; sounds like a fine enhancement!:thumbsup::cool: I look forward to seeing a close-up of the stippling someday.

Jack, that milk/tea debate is NOT lost to the world of statistics!!:thumbsup:;) Sir Ronald Fisher conducted an experiment to investigate whether there was any evidence for a lady's claim that she could distinguish between cups of tea that had milk before tea and those that had tea before milk. The Lady Tasting Tea experiment was very influential in the development of inferential statistics and experimental design, and was the title of a famous statistic book published in 2001! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_tasting_tea

I watched most of the movies and read most of the books my daughter read until her high school years, and have to admit that I actually enjoyed most of them!:D

I enjoy your bread and HHB pics, but do you actually use the HHB to slice your loaves?? The blade doesn't look long enough for many of the loaves, but the slices look too smooth to have resulted from the "cutting around the loaf" technique I'd inexpertly use!

Hear! Hear! and Amen, Bill!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I once read that same sentiment expressed here in these words that I still remember. The Porch: Come for the knives, stay for the people. :)

Thanks for the good word on my pocket watch, David, and for the additional info on Liverpool U. and on snow-trekking. :)

What a ravishing knife!! The stag is sensational!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Looks great, Barrett!:cool::thumbsup: I often make chili with rice or pasta or potatoes as an ingredient; I guess that saves me a step. ;) I also use chill as a "sauce" on lots of other foods.

Vince, that scone looks pure professional; my compliments to the baker!:cool::thumbsup:
I almost never drink tea, so I have no opinions on how that should be served. But for the past several years, I have a cup of coffee each morning as a way to get caffeine into my system. My typical "brewing method" this days is to microwave a mug of sissy milk and then stir in Folger's instant coffee crystals; I add nothing to the mug other than those two ingredients. Do I drink my coffee black, since I add no milk or sugar??

When I was in college, I had a pair of blue suede shoes. Mine were high-top Hush Puppies. ;) I prefer Carl Perkins' version of the song. Here's Perkins about 30 years after he wrote the song, performing it with a little help from some semi-famous friends:

Jack, that photo was an inspiration!:thumbsup::cool: I could imagine a recurring theme of Guardians taking lambsfoot pics at Little Free Libraries in their locales. I walk past at least a half dozen of them every day I go to campus, and there are another half dozen I know of in another neighborhood in which I frequently take walks!

Barrett, that's impressive!! :D:thumbsup::thumbsup: Is that someplace around Minneapolis, or just an internet find? We're planning to attend my daughter's graduation from a public health master's program at University of Minnesota in May, and if that's a local attraction, I ought to see it in person!:D

Union Jack again, about 2 years ago, or a year after I received it:

Nice photo, Jack!

Hey, the Weinermobile was in the news recently… :D

Oscar Mayer’s Weinermobile pulled over in Wisconsin for traffic infraction

Thanks Barrett, I'm afraid that I couldn't access the link (something to do with international copyright laws or something), but the photo is priceless! :D

That little Storm Trooper looks like he's up to something. I'd keep my eye on him. ;):D

Wow, that made it there very quickly.
When I saw the Dredd badge, I just knew you had to have it.:thumbsup:

A hammer for toffee, perfect!!!:thumbsup:

Definitely John! :D Thanks again my friend, it really is very cool

Jack Black Jack Black - Exceptional image of your Hartshead in the giant hand sculpture. Also great is your table top tableau, featuring your HHB.. Also fine is your HHB/dinner collage.

Good Afternoon Guardians.

My late entry.

No worry about keeping the doctor away here, I was waiting 7 weeks for my last routine appointment! o_O

Jack, that's terrible.:eek: Though it's not uncommon to wait a month for a routine visit here.
Woke up sick and called Mon. morning at 8:30 am and was seen at 4 pm. Still trying to recover, but doing better.
Here's a shot of Linus keeping me company in the waiting room.

Sorry to hear you're ill Mark, I hope you're feeling better soon my friend  From when I was a kid, and well into adulthood, most doctor's surgeries here had only one doctor (probably the guy who delivered you). If you were ill, you called in, made an appointment, and sat down reading the 'Reader's Digest' until you were called. Half an hour would have been considered a long wait. Now, you wait so long, people die waiting for a doctor's appointment

Great to see Linus :)

Jack, it’s like your HHB is a magnet for free Danielle Steel novels! :D

LOL! :D

Toted "Rosie" to the shop to work on a couple of saws...

Rosie is developing some great character Willie, nothing a Lambsfoot loves more than being used ;)

I'm on my own tomorrow, and I'm thinking about heading out for some breakfast, then a walk in the woods, with a couple of slingshots in my bag, and my Hartshead Barlow in my pocket of course ;) Have a great weekend Guardians
