Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I believe it is, Jack, and most importantly . . . unbreakable! We went through several of those beautiful filigreed metal and glass French presses which broke all too easily, before we settled on the stainless steel.

I have a couple in stainless Jeff, one I have had about 15 years, and have even taken it camping. The other, which really is just like yours, was made in Sheffield, bought it about 3 years ago I think. I think they'll both outlive me! :D

Edit - Thought I better add a pic (my 834th photo of this Hartshead Barlow) ;)

Sounds like a fantastic time Joshua :)

Excellent work  :)

Here's some links to the other thread for those who want to see more

Morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I was looking through my order books for all the SFOs we had last year, and it's a shame more of their owners no longer post here (or never did) :( Some of our other once-regular posters I miss too, I hope they're all OK  It rained in the night here, but is fine again today, if a little overcast. However, I have plenty of stuff to keep me busy indoors, might even get the time to do a little sharpening ;) Hope everyone has a relaxing and peaceful Sunday

Doubling up on my Lambsfoot content as a Sunday treat ;)

Some fine looking lambfoot knives Jeff.

Those all look fantastic... especially the ebony woods.:thumbsup:

I miss some of the old members too, Jack. :(
Those are two outstanding pictures, my friend.:thumbsup:

I think I need to defrost some sausage. ;)
Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

The ebony big'un will help plant the garden today, now that Spring has officially sprung.

That's a beautiful photo Rachel :) Hope you get a long spring and a short summer this year ;)

Darn, if it isn't raining here again! o_O

@donn 's mention of crisp (potato chip) sandwiches - which is to the British working class what the oyster po' boy is to New Orleans - had me hankering after one real bad! ;) David suggested a Spam and crisp sandwich as an experience close to heaven, but I didn't have any Spam in. I did, however, have some very nice smoked ham :) It's been way too long since I last had a crisp sandwich, and I usually favour plain 'Ready Salted' crisps, but all I had to hand was a large bag of some crunchy paprika ones. It worked VERY well though :) My crisp sandwich is to try to pile the crisps as high as possible, then squash them down with the other side of the bread. My Lambsfoot wanted to help out inevitably ;) Washed the sandwich down with a mug of strong Builder's Tea. Mmmmm :)

Looks delicious, Jack!
(I'm guessing the shrimp po' boy is more popular in New Orleans than the oyster po' boy. At least it seems to be here, further south on the Gulf coast. Of course, we got lots of shrimp in our bay! ;))

Good Sunday morning, Guardians!

Recycled recent pic. I, like John, have taken a challenge to carry a certain knife for a week, and I put all my other knives away.
(I'm still peeking at pics! :p)

 It's a great pic though Vince

Dang! Hopefully it's just enough to keep things cool.

I had my sausage sammich with an egg this morning.:thumbsup:

Yeah, I don't think we were ever in danger of cooking here! :D Ace-looking sammich :) You got square eggs there John?! :D

Thank you, Jack, I hope so too. Sorry about the rain.

I'm feeling a little bit lazy, but if I get the planting done, I'll have time to make a pot of chili. With beans this time, no olives! Austin Tex-Mex all the way!

Speaking of Austin: They have cancelled SXSW this year (South by Southwest music/film/media conference) because of corona-virus fears. A lot of national sponsors were pulling out so it seems they had no choice. Spring break will be nice and quiet this year, but I feel bad for all the caterers and drivers, etc. who will be hurting.
I keep reading about how we shouldn't panic, but I don't see anyone panicking. Just got back from the grocery store and everything is normal except that they are sold out of liquid anti-bacterial soap. Was no one washing their hands before this??? Besides, it's a virus and plain bar soap works fine; the shelves were full of bar soap.

Thanks for the compliment, and for the info my friend, I'll have to update my international cultural references. My knowledge of New Orleans is confined largely to Treme, and some history and cookery programmes! :D

Looks great! Just had my potato & egg breakfast taco -- and a doughnut!

That sounds nice Vince :) I sure hope Harvey isn't doing Mike's challenge too! :D ;)

Don't worry Rachel, the sun is out again now! I've got that lazy feeling too, I've mainly been shooting slingshots! o_O :D At least I didn't put the washing out to dry anyway ;) Hope you enjoy your chilli :)

That's a shame about SXSW :( It's about the same here, everywhere has just sold out of hand-gel. Mind you, I haven't been able to find any for months anyway (I sometimes carry it when I'm hiking - clean your hands AND get a fire started!), though I wasn't looking that hard. Rightly or wrongly, I'm not sure most folks are that concerned here, there isn't much people WON'T joke about

and a doughnut!
A key addition. :cool::thumbsup:

The news media thrives on fear. The other flu viruses out there, the ones that aren't gaining the attention, are just as deadly to the "at risk" population. Currently there are 209 cases of Corona Virus in the U.S. and 45 million cases of the other types of flu viruses. "The flu is showing much more of an impact on Americans than COVID-19" (CDC).

Hadn't heard of that show. Don't watch much television--mostly old shows. I don't have cable, but we have an Amazon Prime account, through which we get access to certain old shows. Been watching Magnum P.I. episodes lately, from the 1980's. Didn't watch it much when it was on originally.
I've been to New Orleans maybe four or five times, usually just passing through, but have stayed there a couple of times. I love the architecture. And the cuisine. Louisiana is my second favorite state. Planning a trip to Georgia and Washington, D.C. this summer, and am going to stop and tour the Tabasco factory on the way home. It's near the coast, a few hours west of New Orleans, I believe.

That's pretty funny! :D

Seriously, this one is good advice:

Oh, I know. On the one hand, you get the over-dramatic fear-mongering. On the other hand, you get an over-reaction to that fear-mongering with people thinking it's all a hoax and conspiracy. It's a new strain of flu and we should be aware of it and take reasonable precautions. It's hard to find "reasonable" these days.

Only when I cook them. ;)

LOL! :D The British Army used to serve 'square egg' - it was actually reconstituted powdered egg!

I only watch stuff on DVD Vince  Someone gave me Treme as a present, I wouldn't say it's fantastic, but it does have some decent music, and I learned a little about New Orleans history and culture from it - maybe! :D It is set in the aftermath of the terrible flood some years back, when the city is still recovering. I had a Louisiana cook-book years ago, some great recipes in it :) New Orleans does look to have some fascinating, and somewhat unique history, and, as you say, some great architecture. And at least I know what a Zulu King is now! :D

Hey, make sure to take a Lambsfoot with you when you visit the Tabasco factory ;) :D
