Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I've been to New Orleans maybe four or five times, usually just passing through, but have stayed there a couple of times. I love the architecture. And the cuisine. Louisiana is my second favorite state. Planning a trip to Georgia and Washington, D.C. this summer, and am going to stop and tour the Tabasco factory on the way home. It's near the coast, a few hours west of New Orleans, I believe.
You definitely should go to Avery Island and visit the Tabasco factory. Don't miss the gift store! There's also a 100 year old Moso Bamboo grove and some other amazing gardens there and on Jefferson Island.:thumbsup:

That sounds nice Vince :) I sure hope Harvey isn't doing Mike's challenge too! :D ;)

I'm actually flabbergasted that there hasn't been a lambsfoot yet from someone for the week. I'm sure Harvey has at least one that doesn't see regular carry he could enter with. You probably also have a neglected one kicking around too ;)

I almost spit coffee on the keyboard here... Ended up dribbling down the chin :D

I chop jalapeños and chiltepin peppers every Saturday morning, and you can bet I wash my hands thoroughly! (Especially before going to the restroom!)

That's a mistake you only make ONCE!!:thumbsup:

Really? Bearing in mind how many folks had them, I'd say there are a lot of neglected Lambsfoot knives unfortunately :( I have a few I'm afraid, but I thought I'd missed the deadline

It was in the window of a city centre bar :D I have to say, I'd definitely wash my hands after coming out of THAT place, only been there once, and it was a total dive, floors were so sticky, I nearly lost my shoes, had to wipe them on the way OUT!

Mine has already expressed her displeasure at being left on the night stand for the week... I'm going to be afraid to carry her again lest she bite me.:( I've already sustained one nasty one, I just hope she come around...15836906239821472922139.jpgJust for posterity...:D

I don't think my mate from the tool-stall would try it though, when I told him you had gifted me a hamper of Lancashire goodies, he was quite appalled! :D

Yes, it's still on my desk from Lancashire Day! :D

LOL! Your mate may not have a choice of crisps if Yorkshire Crisps goes out of business...:D
That is of course, if we let any across the border....
My desk isn't anywhere near as patriotic as that.

Have you got any pan supports for your burner? Let me know ;)

Thanks Jack, but I got something sorted I'm quite pleased with.:)

I posted some rough sanded pictures earlier in a different thread but figured I’d post the completed pictures here. They’re A. Wright and Son

I do like the colouring of the covers on the two right hand knives there. Did they come like that?

The ebony big'un will help plant the garden today, now that Spring has officially sprung.

Great shot.

donn donn 's mention of crisp (potato chip) sandwiches - which is to the British working class what the oyster po' boy is to New Orleans - had me hankering after one real bad! ;) David suggested a Spam and crisp sandwich as an experience close to heaven, but I didn't have any Spam in. I did, however, have some very nice smoked ham :) It's been way too long since I last had a crisp sandwich, and I usually favour plain 'Ready Salted' crisps, but all I had to hand was a large bag of some crunchy paprika ones. It worked VERY well though :) My crisp sandwich is to try to pile the crisps as high as possible, then squash them down with the other side of the bread. My Lambsfoot wanted to help out inevitably ;) Washed the sandwich down with a mug of strong Builder's Tea. Mmmmm :)

Great effort Jack! I think I know what I may have for lunch tomorrow now. :D

Speaking of Austin: They have cancelled SXSW this year (South by Southwest music/film/media conference) because of corona-virus fears. A lot of national sponsors were pulling out so it seems they had no choice. Spring break will be nice and quiet this year, but I feel bad for all the caterers and drivers, etc. who will be hurting.
I keep reading about how we shouldn't panic, but I don't see anyone panicking. Just got back from the grocery store and everything is normal except that they are sold out of liquid anti-bacterial soap. Was no one washing their hands before this??? Besides, it's a virus and plain bar soap works fine; the shelves were full of bar soap.

The news media thrives on fear. The other flu viruses out there, the ones that aren't gaining the attention, are just as deadly to the "at risk" population. Currently there are 209 cases of Corona Virus in the U.S. and 45 million cases of the other types of flu viruses. "The flu is showing much more of an impact on Americans than COVID-19" (CDC).

I know what the greatest threat to civilization is right now, and it's not Corona virus. It's media manufactured hysteria. If we learn any lessons from this it's that; especially during say a national emergency, the news media gets a choice. Factual and proportional reporting or your reigned in.
Maybe the Russians/Chinese/Iranians/North Koreans have the right idea...

That's a shame about SXSW :( It's about the same here, everywhere has just sold out of hand-gel. Mind you, I haven't been able to find any for months anyway (I sometimes carry it when I'm hiking - clean your hands AND get a fire started!), though I wasn't looking that hard. Rightly or wrongly, I'm not sure most folks are that concerned here, there isn't much people WON'T joke about

Hilarious :D:D

Hadn't heard of that show. Don't watch much television--mostly old shows. I don't have cable, but we have an Amazon Prime account, through which we get access to certain old shows. Been watching Magnum P.I. episodes lately, from the 1980's. Didn't watch it much when it was on originally.

Over the last couple of years a couple of TV stations have been rerunning old 80's tv shows. Airwolf. Knightrider, The A Team, T.J Hooker...:) I don't think we could make telly that good anymore. Magnum P.I was a great show! But I recently found out that they've made a new one and that Higgins is now a woman.

That's pretty funny! :D

Seriously, this one is good advice:

That's a great poster!:D But I foresee another problem bigger than this sniffle going about. People taking their contact lenses out after using alcohol gel...:oops::(

God Lord no! You know Jack said he would get hanged for using a catapult in the woods in olden days. I'd get hanged drawn and quartered for drawing down on a burglar with one of those.

Well it was going to be a picture of my sausage butty from yesterday as I'm toting my ironwood today.

But I think I'll post something more appropriate to current events.

I hope everyone's Monday is treating them well. :)

Ain't gonna waste time with remakes. It's most likely PC, like most crap on TV nowadays. :grumpy: ;)
