Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks a lot Ron :) Here's another couple of pics I took earlier

Thanks again Jack! It looks to be a nice sunny day there! :D

Thanks Mike! :D I like the dark sludgy stuff though! :D ;) When I was a young feller, I was lucky enough to spend some time with Bedouin arabs. They drink several types of strong coffee, the strongest and thickest and bitterest of which is reserved for funerals (maybe because it'll bring tears to your eyes)! Not many folks drank it, but I really liked it :D I have indeed being doing some research, but from what I gather, since I like strong, rich coffee, I might be better sticking with my French press. Do you think that is right Mike? Those are great photos, and I love the look of that kettle

The strength and flavour can be adjusted with amount/coarseness of grinds (it took some experimenting to find what worked best for me), but I agree it won't get as rich as you can with unfiltered brewing methods. Turkish coffee it is not :D A good alternative for the best of both worlds is the pourover brewer from Bodum (can be found on the big river site for ~£20.00). Has a steel mesh filter, so basically unfiltered and unlike the Chemex, you don't have to keep buying filters. ;)

lovely pic of your ebony WCLF
Thank you, Jack. :)

Your alleys are more interesting and beautiful than ours.:thumbsup:

Terrific photo John! :)
Thank you, Ron. :)

Anyone else have a Lambfoot with curious flaws/developments such as Barrett's btb01 btb01 and mine?
Yes.
I'm not complaining, and at the risk of making Jack feel bad...
There is a hole along the back spring on the left side. It has started to crack. I figure it's just character.:thumbsup:

That's a long one Dylan! Hope you got a good night's sleep, and have a relaxing weekend :) Great shot there, and an unusual cigar band

Thank you, Jack. Have more work to be done today as well but shouldn't be as intense as yesterday. We are trying to push a big update to our software over this weekend so many of us were "burning the midnight oil", so to speak.

The cigar band is a bit odd - seems better suited to a much "greener" smoke...

Afternoon Guardians, I had hoped to have a relaxing morning, but Window through a spanner in the works. My plan was to have breakfast, come and see you all here, and then get out in the sunshine. Well it's already afternoon now, the hot sun is streaming through the windows, and I'm only just getting to post o_O I did get to have breakfast in the end, Olde English marmalade on wholemeal sourdough, and a pot of the fancy coffee I got yesterday. I bought the well mill for taking out to the woods, just before the lock-down, but thought I'd give it a try (the jury is still out). Hope everyone is staying safe and well, and that you all have a lovely weekend

Wonderful shots, Jack! I love everything in your pictures - the mug is cool, the coffee is tantalizing and of course, the Stag on that Damascus beauty is just wonderful.

I’m using a bandana as a mask when I go out for groceries now. I’ve opted for the old-school triangle fold, tied around the back of the neck, using two bandanas for the extra layers. I find it more comfortable than other kinds of cloth face masks, and I enjoy that it looks like I’m planning on holding up a stagecoach (just as soon as I finish stocking up on eggs and milk at Costco). :D

That cracked me up, Barrett. I haven't had to venture out too much - working from home has its perks. That said, I have had to go a few times and I ordinarily carry a bandanna with me anyway. I use it for all sorts of things but this time I did just what you did. I felt like a kid playing "cowboys and indians" - can't say that I objected too much. :D

Good Morning Guardians - and anyone else looking in.

A light patina has started to form. It really enhances this knife.

That is some stellar Stag on that one, Ed, very nice.

Working too hard Dylan! Beautiful photo of your Glennbad special! :)

Thank you, Ron! I am hoping for a quieter day today but we shall see.

Some Yeats with my morning coffee - yes, it's pouring down rain again...

Great pic! Gonna throw my DamLamb in the pocket today!

Hope all of you Guardians are having a great Saturday.

I hope you and that beautiful Lambsfoot have a very quite day Dylan! :D

Jack Black Jack Black Thanks for the photos Jack! Be safe my friend! :)

You too Ron :) It's been a beautiful day here, I keep having to remind myself it's only April :)

Ahhh, the unexplained. I have a two blade A. Wright Lambfoot with Rosewood covers. After some use, a hole mysteriously appeared and a crack developed from that hole through the lower pin all the way to the butt of the knife/cover. No, I haven't misused it or done any of my funky experiments with it - haven't dropped it. Just normal use and then one day the hole showed up and the crack developed from there.

An interesting topic ED  That's weird, I think Dylan Pàdruig Pàdruig may have an Ironwood '19 with some of the bite marks, but I don't think they were there originally

Very interesting Mike, apparently filtered coffee is definitely healthier, but you need a fine filter rather than a steel mesh one :)

Thank you, Jack. :)

Your alleys are more interesting and beautiful than ours.:thumbsup:

Thanks John, we have some very interesting alleys (and ginnels, jennels, snickets, and snickleways), but that one is actually on the map as a road! :D Always makes me laugh when I see vehicles trying to get up it! :D

Yes.
I'm not complaining, and at the risk of making Jack feel bad...

Oh yeah! That's interesting, is that the Ironwood or your Rosewood?

The cigar band is a bit odd - seems better suited to a much "greener" smoke...

That was my first thought Dylan! :D I hope you manage to get your work done buddy

Many thanks :) Great choices all round :) And a great pic too :)

Now who's being a bad influence Jack? Had to go make some Turkish coffee for Mrs CC and I ;) And if anyone else wants to try an easy recipe for some.

LOL! :D Sorry Mike, but I hope you enjoyed your coffee ;) Cool pic :)

A good Saturday afternoon to all you Guardians! I'm running late and struggling with a little stomach distress today! I'm toting my Ashley's Choice today! Stay safe out there! :D

Sorry to hear that Ron, hope you're feeling better soon my friend :) Nice pic of your AC

That is quite a drive Barrett, I once shared the driving from North-West France to the far East of Poland, but apart from that, about the longest I've driven is London and back from Sheffield :D That's a great photo, I'd love to live in a less crowded country :)

I’ve always enjoyed long drives and road trips. When I was a growing up, my dad owned an RV dealership. Needless to say, we never flew anywhere for vacation. :D When I turned 16, he started sending me to pick up or deliver motorhomes to customers or other dealerships. I think the longest drive I made for him was picking one up at a factory in Canada (near Toronto) and driving it back to Arkansas.

I agree Barrett :) The haircut and character are inspired  When I was a kid, a few lads still had the 'pudding-basin' haircut done by their mothers! In my father's day, I think it was quite common :D

We called that a “bowl cut” growing up. I’ve probably got a picture of me as kid with one somewhere! :D

You're lucky to have escaped UK daytime TV my friend (though I don't think it's as bad as in France)! I haven't watched TV for decades  After your journey, I'm amazed you weren't comatose, let alone able to tramp round Sheffield the next day :D :)

I crashed pretty hard that night! I might have even skipped going out for food, but I realized on the train that I didn’t have an adapter to charge my phone, and my battery percentage was down to single digits by the time I made it to Sheffield! I wasn’t thrilled about waking up in the middle of the night, but after an hour or so of trying to go back to sleep, I just gave up. I definitely fell asleep on the train from Sheffield to Bristol that next evening. :D

Yes! :D

You have a great memory Barrett, it's a shame you missed The Wediing Cake, and The Egg-Box, both really close to your hotel ::D

Those buildings are certainly unique! ;) :D

I think your knife might have spent a little time with Lucy.
Has your knife been sleeping during the day and roaming around the house at night?

John has a point Barrett, has it always been like that?

The pile side of my Ironwood has looked like that since I got it. (In fact, I think I took that photo around the time it first arrived, but I don’t know that I ever shared it.)

Here's a pic I took when out for a short walk round the block this afternoon (about 1 1/2 miles from Leeds city centre)

Nice photos, Jack!

Nando’s  :D Good food Barrett! When I was growing up the Interstate Speed Limit was 75! I always took that as a suggestion! Recycled N95 Mask Micarta! What a ironic thought my friend! Someone will probably try it! Lovely character marks on your Ironwood Barrett! :D

Thanks, Ron! 80 certainly seemed like a suggestion out in that part of Texas! :D

I usually have a bandana in my back pocket, as well, Dylan. I’ve probably picked up a couple dozen over the years, and they’re definitely coming in handy now.

That’s some good looking pile side stag!

I have to say, if I saw you coming down the aisle at the grocery store with a bandana over your face looking like a post-apocalyptic Wild West Viking, I’d probably stay out of your way. ;) :D

Here’s the mark side of my Ironwood Guardians Lambsfoot.
