Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning Guardians,
Thanks Jack, I will check out the catalog in the sticky:thumbsup:

Congratulations Rob, that's a beautiful Thomas Turner Lambsfoot, very nice acquisition :)

Here's a two-blade Lambsfoot from their 1902 catalogue

There are quite a few other Lambsfoot knives in that catalogue too (it's in the sticky)

Thank you again for such a lovely knife. I feel incredibly fortunate to have acquired so many of your creations Jack.

Have a great evening all.View attachment 1330310
A beautiful and possibly the most unique Big’un amongst our ranks Dwight! :)

Yeap, you got it Ron :).
A couple glasses a day for an excellent, outstanding and optimized gut flora :D

I have not tried kombucha made at home Mike, only the commercial bottled one and I did like it.
We really "believe" in Kefir. :)
We have been drinking it for a few years now and can not go without it.
I’ve never tried it Dan. I’m from the south so I’ll just stick with Buttermilk and a daily probiotics capsule! :D

Thank you, Ron. I am glad to hear that you are feeling better - your Père David's is looking excellent.

My apologies, Jack, I completely forgot about getting the Ironwood out and inspecting it more closely. I will do so tomorrow and make it an excuse to carry one of them while I am at it. Thank you for the kind compliments - Lucy is looking pretty well!

Thanks Dylan! A great photo and a beautiful Ebony Waynorth Lambsfoot! :)

I need to give Stan a ring Barrett, he was poorly at the beginning of the year, and had been in hospital, so wasn't able to work anyway. I very much doubt he has been into the museum, unless he's needed to pick something up. That's a great pic my friend
If you do get an opportunity to speak with Stan be sure and send him our Best Wishes from all the Guardians around the world! :)

Yes indeed Ron, I don't know, but I would think it runs into the hundreds of thousands! They cracked the whip in those factories, and he wouldn't have been able to take his time like he does today  Thanks Ron, The house was my second home for a few years, and I had Christmas dinner there several times. I still know the people there today, but we're not as close

I bet Ron! When this is all over, I think I am going to find it a shock physically as I normally walk about 5 miles a day. I need to go and do some shopping, but I'm afraid my back still isn't right :(

I was figuring in the thousands of knives made Jack! I totally agree with you about the activities Jack! When I was younger I could sit around for a few days and then swim or bike several miles a day and never get sore or tired. Now when I’m inactive for several days in a row, like I have been with the stay at home orders, I get sore just thinking about physical activity, let alone 5 hours of lawn work! :D

Morning Guardians, looks like a dull day here, but maybe it'll improve. Hope everyone is doing OK, and that you have a good day :)

Another beautiful addition to your collection Rob! :)

Looking good Joshua :)

I'd ring him more often Ron, but both he and his wife are getting on, and I hate the thought of them having to get up to answer the phone, even though they are always pleased to hear from me. It could also be the case, if they are anything like me, that their phone never stops ringing at the moment  I know just what you mean Ron, I've just had a walk to the bottle-bank up the road (just 6 bottles as I didn't want to hurt my back). I have been a little worried about an old lady, nearly as old as Stan, who lives up the road, and who I haven't seen for a while, but I saw her today, and she is OK. She was born in the Tower of London as her dad was a Beefeater! :)

Hope your day brightens up, Jack.
Most excellent picture of your Hartshead.:thumbsup:

Thanks John, they've forecast some rain later, but we haven't had any for a while, so I'm not too bothered :)

A real treasure, Rob. :cool::thumbsup:

I get a little jealous every time I see an AC. Great little knife.:thumbsup:

Thanks! I didn’t realize you didn’t have an AC. Not sure how I missed that! I was very fortunate to get one again after selling the first one I had during a time of need.
Looking good Joshua :)

This one came in today, took 8 days to get here. Went from the west coast all the way across the US to the east coast then back to the south central part of the US. Good old USPS at it's most efficient  Anyhow it was worth the wait.

Wow! Congratulations on that find.:thumbsup: Why do new knives with lots of blade etches or advertisements look tacky to me, but I absolutely love them on antiques? It must be some form of nostalgia.
Yeap, you got it Ron :).

Do you make your own kefir? I think I've seen it in stores, but it had a lot of sugar in it. I've been eating one brand of yogurt that's the real stuff: No fruit or sugar added, and no pectin, which a lot of brands add as a thickener. Just pure, hard-core sour yogurt.

I know what you mean. I'm sitting around the house doing nothing, and yet constantly being interrupted! :grumpy emoji:
If you do speak to Stan, please give our regards.
I just heard a mental health expert on the radio the other day talking about the importance of superficial social interaction. The idea being that most of us have been able to speak or even video chat with our family and very close friends during the hunker-down, but are lacking in the constant, casual contact with the familiar faces in our neighborhoods. :(

Your AC is looking good Joshua! :)

Good Morning Guardians
Here's my "post" for today. ;)
A great “post” John! :)

I can understand you not wanting to bother Stan and his wife! How old is Stan now Jack? :) I’m glad you found the elderly lady to be okay Jack! Wow, Tower of London and Beefeater! Good on you for being a concerned neighbor, I’m sure they all appreciate you Jack! :)

Thanks! I didn’t realize you didn’t have an AC....

Thank you, Jack! Hope your day is going well.

I'd missed that too! Thanks Joshua, pretty uneventful really, I hope all is well with you there :)

I just started to read a book earlier, and the phone rang again  I'll be sure to do that Rachel :) I'm certainly not lacking for casual conversation with my neighbours, when I go out I spend more time chatting than walking! :D

I think he was 93 in December Ron, if I remember correctly  I hope so, people look out for me too though :) Hard to imagine a more friendly street really :)

Good morning Guardians! I’ve dropped my H.M. Slater Venture back in the pocket today. I hope y’all will continue to be safe and well! :)

That looks great Ron, 'Venture' was the Slater mark, and their old works was named for it

Recorded at the University of Leeds Refectory on 14 February, 1970.

I'd like to say I was there, but I was only 9 at the time :D ;) Cool pic

Good morning and happy Tuesday, Guardians! It's been a while, so I decided to take the Senator out of the drawer today. Have a great day, all!

While I am not quite ready to declare myself a Knight of the Sourdough, perhaps I'm a Squire of the Sourdough, as I'm now officially in training ;) A friend came by for a visit on the driveway yesterday, and gifted us a nice loaf and some starter after I had mentioned interest in it the other day. He also gifted us some scoby, so we started a batch of kombucha last night.

And speaking of not being used to previous physical activity levels... My wife and I met a friend for a walk on Sunday (stayed 6' apart at all times). ~13km/8miles along the river. Was great to get outdoors, but my legs were pretty sore yesterday! Snow is all gone, now we just need some rain to bring some green out!
