Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Your AC is looking good Joshua! :)

A great “post” John! :)

I can understand you not wanting to bother Stan and his wife! How old is Stan now Jack? :) I’m glad you found the elderly lady to be okay Jack! Wow, Tower of London and Beefeater! Good on you for being a concerned neighbor, I’m sure they all appreciate you Jack! :)

Good morning Guardians! I’ve dropped my H.M. Slater Venture back in the pocket today. I hope y’all will continue to be safe and well! :)

Thanks, Ron. I'm envious of your Slater. It's a sweet looking knife!

Good morning and happy Tuesday, Guardians! It's been a while, so I decided to take the Senator out of the drawer today. Have a great day, all!

While I am not quite ready to declare myself a Knight of the Sourdough, perhaps I'm a Squire of the Sourdough, as I'm now officially in training ;) A friend came by for a visit on the driveway yesterday, and gifted us a nice loaf and some starter after I had mentioned interest in it the other day. He also gifted us some scoby, so we started a batch of kombucha last night.

And speaking of not being used to previous physical activity levels... My wife and I met a friend for a walk on Sunday (stayed 6' apart at all times). ~13km/8miles along the river. Was great to get outdoors, but my legs were pretty sore yesterday! Snow is all gone, now we just need some rain to bring some green out!

Looking good Mike, we sure have some industrious members here! :) It must have been great to get out for a walk, particularly with that spectacular scenery :) I think I might struggle to walk 8 miles at the moment! I don't think I've walked much more than 2 miles in one go since this all started :(

Thanks Ron:thumbsup:
Another beautiful addition to your collection Rob! :)

Thanks John

a real treasure, Rob. :cool::thumbsup:

Thanks Rachel  I agree on new knives with etched blades, they haven't earned their stripes and the etch disappears with a little use:( the antiques developed a soul over the years and stamps or etches are part of their story as well as a testament to their heritage  that's my overly romantic opinion :)

Wow! Congratulations on that find.:thumbsup: Why do new knives with lots of blade etches or advertisements look tacky to me, but I absolutely love them on antiques? It must be some form of nostalgia.

Do you make your own kefir? I think I've seen it in stores, but it had a lot of sugar in it. I've been eating one brand of yogurt that's the real stuff: No fruit or sugar added, and no pectin, which a lot of brands add as a thickener. Just pure, hard-core sour yogurt.

I know what you mean. I'm sitting around the house doing nothing, and yet constantly being interrupted! :grumpy emoji:
If you do speak to Stan, please give our regards.
I just heard a mental health expert on the radio the other day talking about the importance of superficial social interaction. The idea being that most of us have been able to speak or even video chat with our family and very close friends during the hunker-down, but are lacking in the constant, casual contact with the familiar faces in our neighborhoods. :(

I just started to read a book earlier, and the phone rang again  I'll be sure to do that Rachel :) I'm certainly not lacking for casual conversation with my neighbours, when I go out I spend more time chatting than walking! :D

I think he was 93 in December Ron, if I remember correctly  I hope so, people look out for me too though :) Hard to imagine a more friendly street really :)

That looks great Ron, 'Venture' was the Slater mark, and their old works was named for it

Thanks Jack! I’m glad you live in a friendly neighborhood Jack! It’s a great thing to be able to know and interact with your friends and neighbors! 93 years young is quite a grand ole age. Thanks for the Slater info and photo! :)

That’s great Mike ! :)
Lots of brewing and fermenting among the Guardians lately

Do you make your own kefir?

Yes Rachel, we make our own
Here is a pic of the kefir grains used to ferment the milk.

I'd like to say I was there, but I was only 9 at the time :D ;) Cool pic

I bet it was a good show. I didn’t get to see them in concert until 1983 when they played in Houston.

Your bread looks really good. Here is some fresh blackberry jam my wife made to go with it.

I used to have that on cassette. "Sometimes I wonder what I'ma gonna do, 'cause there ain't no cure for the summertime blues!"

That is a great song right up there with My Generation.

Wow, that is one shiny knife handle! Beautiful.
Thanks! It is some beautiful deeply grained Horn. It’s really hard to get a photo that actually shows the depth because of the luster! :)

Les, that Blackberry Jam sure would go good on a big ole hot buttered Cat Head!!! :D

For the last two weeks I've not been able to find corn meal... Silly me was looking in the decimated baking aisles. Chatting with my mom on the phone, and she said it was in the cereal aisle with the oatmeal! Went and picked some up this morning.

Nothing quite like skillet cornbread fresh from the oven with some honey :)

Recorded at the University of Leeds Refectory on 14 February, 1970.

Jack Black Jack Black @Prester John

I saw them live in Chattanooga on 8/17/67. They were at the Jet-FLI Spectacular. A show that was put on several times a year and sponsored by the biggest local Rock Radio Station, Jet-FLI. The performers that particular night were Herman’s Hermits, The Who, Neil Diamond, Blues Magoos, Jon & Robin, The In Crowd. The Who was the last performance that night. I was setting in the lower floor level seats. Let’s just say when Pete Townsend started smashing his guitar it left quite an impression on this almost 13 year old boy. I’ve been a life long fan. :)

Man, I bet that really did get your attention when he started smashing that guitar. Sounds like it was a great concert. I think when I was 13 or 14 I saw Paul Revere and the Raiders. :D

No worries Dylan, thanks for the kind words pal :) Great pic of your WCLF

Thank you, Jack. I'm being forgetful in my "not-so-old" age. I meant to carry Ironwood today and forgot again! Despite that, I still had some daylight and snapped some pics of the duo. You can see the natural inclusions in the sides that look like they came from a burl. (Nevermind the actual tooth marks)

I'll never tire of seeing that one, Ron. 'Tis a special knife.

Had the Ebony again, today.
