Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Have you practiced doing checkering at all? I imagine it could take a bit of skill . . .

Not yet, but if I get around to doing it, I'll for sure practice on something else first. Maybe plain wood to start, then on another less sentimentally valuable knife, before I ever accost RALF. It's a skill I may, or may not, have. :(

Morning Guardians! The last couple of days with the Senator have gone really well, so figure we'll finish off the week together. He used to get more pocket time, until I received the Li'l Lambs, which ended up bumping the Senator from the rotation :(

Oh, and an accidental updated mugshot in the bolster :P

That bread certainly looks great Greg, as does your accompanying Lambsfoot :) Kind sentiments my friend, wishing you the same

Nice sourdough Greg! Your Guardians Ebony looks right at home with your bread! :)

Thank you both for the kind words on both bread and blade! I'm sorry it's taken me to so long to get back here to say that.

Beautiful loaves Greg  Nice crumb
We must be coordinating our baking :)
These loaves came out of the oven a couple hours ago.
I am enjoying the learning process too .... and tasting it :)
Finally I was able to get a more open crumb structure. Started the the process yesterday morning, in the fridge overnight and baked this am.
Very mild sour flavor, we shall see the verdict from the family :)
Cheers

That looks fantastic, Dan! I bet the family approved.

Good show today Knights (and honorary Knight)!
I too went into battle, with my Lambsfoot in pocket.

Thanks, Dave. It looks like you were victorious in your foray onto the battlefield. :D

Since this is sometimes the Breakfast Sandwich and Blades thread, I thought I'd share a shot of my breakfast this morning:

Usually I have yogurt for breakfast, but decided to have a special treat today. Left over sourdough bread, toasted with cheddar, wrapping a fried egg. Cold-brew to wash it down.

Have a great day and rest of your week everyone! I hope to be able to do some proper catching up on the thread this weekend. :)

Sorry I’m a little new at quoting but Thank You very much Jack for considering me a Guardian, I’m honored. Barrett btb01 btb01 if I pass muster please add me to the Guardians Map.

I’ll add you later today, Chuck!

Sometimes Barrett, a lot of the time it was just dirty, dangerous, and darn hard work! o_O That sounds pretty cool though Barrett :) When I was 18 I worked in a brewery for a few months, possibly the best job I've ever had! :D

I remember you talking about the brewery job before. Wasn’t that the one where the employees spent most of the workday sampling the wares? ;)

Thanks Jack! :) Your guess is close but not exactly correct! ;) It’s actually “Chili Dog Patina”! Last Saturday when we went shopping at Sam’s Club we purchased a large package of 1/4 lb Beef Franks. They are the same ones they serve in their snack bar. Sunday evening we fixed up a couple and opened a can of store bought Chili. By the time I got the mustard and chili on mine there was no way I could hold it and eat it like a normal hotdog! Sooo I used my trusty Stag Bigun and a fork to eat it with! :D

Chili dog patina is the best kind of patina! I have that same problem when I make chili dogs at home; they’re always a fork-and-knife kind of deal. :D And while they’re good at home, I don’t think anything quite compares to a chili cheese dog from a drive-in/malt shop type place.

No breakfast chili dog for me today :D, just a fried egg and bacon sandwich. Have a good day, Guardians!

That’s a tasty looking breakfast sandwich there Greg! Oh yes, a nice Horn Lambsfoot there too! :D

Chili Dog Patina! But not for breakfast Barrett! ;) I’ll take that bacon and fried egg with a side of Ironwood for breakfast any morning! :D

I'm enjoying all the breakfast pictures... except maybe ED's. ;)

I ran in to work this morning to pick up a few things and talk to a couple of peaople.
I snapped a couple of pictures. Nothing much more lonely than an empty school building.
