Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

That's some fantastic character Kevin :)

Such outstanding jigging :)

Thanks Bill, here, during the two world wars, with the men away fighting, thousands of women went to work in the Sheffield steel works (including my grandmothers and great grandmothers of course). Many died, both in accidents and because of German bombing, and unfortunately it took a century before the statue was commissioned. It is always good to see Rosie, she's iconic, such a great image

Great pic of your Hartshead Barlow Bill

Wow! Nice work Greg, fab pic too :)

Superb work Dan, definitely nothing to be sour-faced about ;) Cool pic

Another marvellous pic Dwight, it sure is good having you back my friend :)

Definitely Chuck :)

Jack, I was just mesmerized by that picture of the two women. What a contrast of both strength and beauty.

When I was a kid in the 1960s, my parents would often take us kids to the drive-in movie theaters. I continued that tradition in my own car with pals and girlfriends in the 1970s, but drive-in movie theaters slowly disappeared by the end of that century. I saw on the news that the few that were left around the country were making a comeback due to the isolation effects of the virus.
Here is a car speaker that I bought at an antique store which came from a local drive-in theater that I went to many times in my youth...

The little town where I grew up actually had a XXX Adult drive-in movie theater.
The theater was placed out in the country surrounded by tomato fields. The screen would face away from the freeway.
When we were in high school, we used to drive our pickups out behind the theater in the fields, sit on our tailgates, drink lots of beer, and narrate the movies ourselves. It was so funny! :D:D:D

We have 2 Drive-In’s in our area that been doing pretty good business for years. Business has actually boomed in the last couple of months, they ask you to stay in your car and at this time no snack bar or restrooms. But business is good.

Thank you, Jack. I've enjoyed getting caught up and seeing pictures of your walk in Leeds - weather looks beautiful.

Thank you, Les. I saw your pics in another thread and thought maybe you had scored another addition.

Very fine - I like the dusky horn on that one. Classy!

This one for me today.

Thanks! I have found that is tricky to get the horn to show up in a picture the way it looks in real life. Your Waynorth is very handsome.

Another marvellous pic Dwight, it sure is good having you back my friend
Thank you Jack. I love the countryside scenes from your walk-a-bouts and the survey triangulation pillar is in a most surprising location.

Love this picture Dwight
Thank you Dan. Your photography is much appreciated my friend.

Beautiful Ebony big’un there Dwight!
Thanks Ron. Wow that creamy white Way - Lamb is toothsome!:)

Thanks Jack  Encore performance coming up :D Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday
Jack you have made it this far without a recliner, no need in taking a chance now;)

I took my Granddaughter for a walk today, she is getting into Geocaching so we went to a bike path not far from home, at we could social distance and have fun doing it. She found 4 today, she was elated. Made sure I had the Lamb along in case she needed for anything. Sadly the only picture I took was of it sitting on the arm of my chair when we got home.

Sounds like you both had a great day Chuck :) Nice 'Go Faster Stripes' on your Lambsfoot ;)

Thanks Jack, I rather like the color variation on this one it shows character.

That sounds like a nice thing to do Chuck :) I'm afraid I couldn't view your pic, but your Lambsfoot certainly has great character :)

Today was a BIG sourdough bake day for a hungry family that demands it :) ( I put about 25 % stone ground whole wheat flower for extra nutrition  )

Great photo Dan, that bread looks fantastic, nice to see it's well-guarded! :D I have just had my sourdough toast :)

It's the Jack Adams Standard today.

Looking good Ed

Jack Black Jack Black - super nice beans, fudge, and Lamb images, Jack.

donn donn - Thank you David. Excellent in the bag image.

Good Afternoon Guardians.

Thanks Harvey, wonderful photo of your Jonathan Crookes

I think I’m going to have to get a couple more Lambs, you guys must be tired of seeing my one, I’m not tired of carrying it though.

I'm not tired of looking at it Chuck! :D

It really is a nice knife

I really like it when Pam is on her work at home days. We can have our meals together. She’s dedicated and works her full time but we can still converse freely during the day! I actually deleted the photos by choice Jack. I usually take my photos on my phone. Then I Air Drop them to my iPad. On my iPad I edit them for size. Usually they end no larger than a 1000 pixels in width and height. From there I upload to Flickr. So basically what I did was to delete duplicate photos. :D

Tasty looking fudge Jack! :)

Very nice bread Dan! And of course the lambs too! :D

I see Ron, not so bad then :) The fancy fudge was a Christmas gift :) I was somewhat surprised when I saw what colour it was :D

Thank you, Jack. I've enjoyed getting caught up and seeing pictures of your walk in Leeds - weather looks beautiful.

Thank you Dylan, we've been lucky with the weather the past few weeks, certainly made things easier than it would have been. Lovely photo of your WCLF my friend :)

I'm surprised it's not a better-known photo, I only came across it by chance. I might see if I can buy it as a print  The clothing indicates that they are involved in teeming molten steel, an incredibly dangerous job which requires both skill and strength, and as you can see the PPE is not worth a great deal

What a cool memento! Great photo my friend :)

Drive-ins never really caught on here, since who would want to sit in an English car for a couple of hours, watching a movie through the rain?! :D

Thank you very much Dwight :) That's a stunning photo of your Hartshead Barlow :)

Morning Guardians, hope everyone's week has got off to a reasonable start. It's started off dull here today, I don't know if it'll brighten up later, but I have to stay in for a delivery, so I may be stuck indoors anyway o_O Thought I'd carry my AC today :) Have a good one Guardians

Yeah, there aren't that many hills in Leeds. Certainly nothing like Sheffield anyway. I'll have to see if there are anymore urban Trig points here

I think there's one out in the farm fields about 2 miles from were I live. But as it's completely flat round here for miles I guess it had to be stuck somewhere.

Have there been shootings? I miss everything

Is that so you could of joined in? :D
Errr yeah, I think it was 4 casualties. But one of the incidents was apparently a proper Hollywood style shootout.

Cool pic of your '19 David, and it's nice to see your new bag too

Cheers Jack, I may take a proper pic of it today actually as I'm struggling to think of what else to use for my daily lambsfoot shot.

I thought you all didn't have guns?

We have some, but not the fun stuff you chaps have. Or the crim's have. Or the police have.

That's right, only the criminals have guns now (and the cops) o_O

Out of those two I'm not sure whose more dangerous with them.

So, like we are trying to do then?

Yip.

How did you do that Jer? Was it with a round file or a dremel or something else?

I usually take my photos on my phone. Then I Air Drop them to my iPad. On my iPad I edit them for size. Usually they end no larger than a 1000 pixels in width and height. From there I upload to Flickr.

I must be getting old. I read all that and went "huh?". :D

That must of been quite a line of pick-ups out in those tomotoes. :D

I was thinking if you knew of any drive-thru cinemas Jack. I certainly don't know of any.

Blimey! I did try a couple of Google searches, but searching on 'Leeds shooting' brings up rather a lot of stuff!

I was in a shooting league with South Yorkshire's finest many years ago, and even their A Team were notorious for not being able to hit a barn door  I doubt many criminals have had any target practice at all though o_O

I hope we're not going to get an outbreak of easy-open notches o_O

I was thinking if you knew of any drive-thru cinemas Jack. I certainly don't know of any.

There was at least one in Sheffield in the late 70's or early 80's, at Hillsborough if I remember right, but I don't think it lasted long

JohnDF, That does sound funny, kind of an x-rated version of "Mystery Science Theater 3000" :)

chuck4570, good to hear that there are still some drive-in theaters out there, and doing well. I only know of one left in my area and it's not close to me.
I saw in a news program that thanks to social distanciation some reopened.

Aye, a mate of mine in York had competed at Bisley (among others) on several occasions and said the police teams consistently ranked at or near the bottom.

I doubt many criminals have had any target practice at all though o_O

I reckon the crim's in Liverpool and Birmingham probably get more practice than the cops do. :D

Imagine what they were like back in the days before dedicated AR teams, they weren't even guaranteed to get issued the same handgun  There was a British gun magazine called Handgunner, which exposed how the first heavily armed cops at Heathrow Airport were issued with the ridiculous H&K MP5K, rather than the similarly-named, but mechanically very different MP5. This was because the Home Secretary at the time was impressed by the SAS in the 1980 Iranian Embassy Siege, demanded the police get some of the same guns for use at Heathrow, and they ordered the wrong model! Thankfully they never sprayed any holiday-makers

Yeah, you might be right! :eek :D

Talking of mayhem, this is for JohnDF JohnDF - Intergalactic Space Teenagers D.R. and Quinch get a Lambsfoot!  :D
