Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Yeah, I gotta agree Vince! :D

That's looking good Mike :) Nice doohickey hiding away in the background

LOL! :D It's got to be 10 years ago David, I was supposed to be meeting a feller there. Having virtually no interest in televised sports, I was completely unaware that there'd been some sort of kick-off the night before relating to the European Cup. I got off the train, and all I saw was drunken Rangers fans, cops, and cigarette butts, and the idiot I was meeting didn't have the sense to cancel or suggest an alternative location o_O

Here's the night before o_O

I'll see you! ;) I always have a bottle of Highland Park in ;) Slainte

KuPk4z6.jpg

But what's this??!! o_O:mad: These 'security seals' are supposed to stop the bottles (which comes in a cardboard package) being stolen, but at least a third of the time the shop staff forget to take them off o_O I'm going to have to get the hacksaw out now o_O

Thanks Harvey :)
Another fine libation I see. Jack, you have good taste in those beverages that taste good:):thumbsup::thumbsup:

:D There actually is an Odessa, Texas. It's pretty far out west.

Wow! That's cool! :D

I'm looking forward to the day we can sit together and visit, she's not getting any younger.

Like Greg, I'm not a big fan of stag handles.
But, these are so special that I'm now glad I got one with premium covers.

Avast! :cool::thumbsup:
I like your background, Jack.

Yeah, a year is a lot to lose for older folks :( I was planning to do quite a bit of travelling and camping this year, and wonder if I'll still be able to carry my camping gear after this lockdown ends, my fitness levels and general health weren't great to start with

Thanks buddy, one of my bandanas! :D

I just made some spicy tomato and red pepper soup for lunch :)

While it was simmering on the stove, I thought I'd do that NYT dialect quiz...

Jack, I'm sorry I missed your post yesterday, but the Saml. Smith's India Ale is my absolute favorite, and your description is spot on. Add a Taddy Porter for a nightcap, and you have a dynamic duo! I'm having some oolong tea this morning.

I know what you mean. Although I can still workout in my Garage Gym, the general fitness has taken a big hit. I do a lot of walking while I'm at school, now at home not so much. I certainly hope as the Summer progresses we can get out more for some hiking and camping.:thumbsup:

Tomato soup and sammiches is a winner!!!!:thumbsup:

Testing the accuracy... seems legit. ;)

Amazing tooling on your pocket-slip John, really nice work  A nice knife to go in it too ;)
Thanks, Jack. :)
It's starting to come back to me, it just takes practice.

Thank you very much Alan :) As I only had the one Sam Smith's beer in the fridge, I had a Leffe Brune, followed by this Tynt Meadow, I finally got delivery of a case of :) Hope you enjoyed your Oolong tea my friend, nice pic

Yeah, I usually walk 5 miles each day, and carry a rucsac for at least some of that, but I have only walked that far a few times during the lockdown :( The combination of my back injury, a nasty Tennis Elbow flare-up, and a knee injury I was waiting to have physio for has hampered me doing much other exercise o_O

That soup had quite a kick to it! :D

Yes, I was impressed

Good for you John :)

Oh, man, sorry to hear that, Barrett. I hope it stays merely warm until you can have it replaced. :(

At least it happened here in MN and not when we lived in Arizona! :D

LOL! I'm going to have to give that one a go! But what if it says I'm from the south of England?! :D

I think you’re probably safe…

While it was simmering on the stove, I thought I'd do that NYT dialect quiz...

…yep! :D

That’s some pinpoint accuracy there! Makes sense, though, given the number of options on some of those questions. I mean, how many words does one country need for a person riding on the back of someone else’s bicycle?! :D

Happy memories :)

Yes indeed!

Looks like some Yorkshire might have rubbed off on you Barrett! :D ;)

I’ll take that as a compliment. ;) :D

Sorry to hear that mate :( I have a few things breaking down that I'm putting off getting fixed/replaced until after this crazy situation is over, but nothing that serious, hope it's not going to cost you a fortune

I got a quote from the guy who came to repair it, and I’m waiting on another (for comparison’s sake) early next week. It’s not going to be cheap, but it seems like it won’t be quite as bad as I might have expected, either.

The demand for the Rosewood models took me by surprise! For some folks, I guess the price difference was a factor. I had not expected there to be much difference. Typically of that firm, I couldn't even get prices from them the day before! o_O

I chose the Rosewood because I already had one of your SFOs in stag (the Ashley’s Choice), and nothing in Rosewood.

Glad you enjoyed it Barrett :) Sam Smith's pubs are often pretty unwelcoming places, they are also sometimes filthy, with badly-kept draught ales, and they are frequently jammed with drunks o_O A good job they do a good bottled range you can take home

...

I think you summed that up well Barrett, given the wealth of beer treasures coming out of Tadcaster, I don't think I'd be racing for the lager. That one is their premium lager, which they also do on draught, I've not tasted the others. Nice pic my friend

Thanks, Jack! I’ve certainly enjoyed my Samuel Smith experience so far. What I’m really looking forward to is getting into the darker stuff! I do think I’ll save that Yorkshire Stingo to try last, if for no other reason than the fact that it cost more than any one of the four-packs! o_O :D

Good Morning Guardians, hope everyone is having a good weekend :) I had a very lazy day yesterday, which I rather enjoyed :) Got a few chores to do today, and I might make some soup. It's dull and overcast outside, and I can't see me straying further than the bottle-bank on the next street ;) :D Have a great Sunday Guardians :)

K7WEjYf.jpg

It’s been rainy and overcast here the last few days, too. On the plus side it’s helped keep things from getting too warm, but it’s also quite humid, both outside and in the house without the A/C. Might be a good time to go through and oil all my non-stainless knives, just to be safe!

Yesterday Eleanor and I went for a drive together to pick up lunch, and it was really siling down/chucking it down/raining stair rods the whole time we were in the truck!

Good Morning Guardians and Happy Sunday.

Your Waynorth is looking good, John, and the tooling on that slip looks fantastic! I’ve never been anything close to a cowboy, but when I was a kid my grandpa bought a ranch house with a barn and a few acres of land, and he got a couple horses for us grandkids to ride. So for a brief period of time (I was probably 10 years old), I thought I was a cowboy. ;) I had a cowboy hat, and boots, and a leather belt that my grandma bought for me at a craft fair with my name and some oak leaves and acorns (like those on your slip) on it.

Here’s another recycled Lambsfoot photo. :D

What a wonderful memory to hold on to, Barrett.:thumbsup:

Edit: Oops! I prematurely hit the reply button! Here’s some Lambsfoot content; I’ll be back with some quotes and responses in a bit.

Your ebony looks great out in the woods Dan :)

Yes, me too Barrett, and I'm enjoying the Nut Brown Ale right now. Brown Ale is most popular in the British North East, where it is a staple of life. It's popularity begins to fade against you move away from the River Tyne, but it enjoys a quiet following elsewhere. I drank a lot of Brown Ale as a teenager, when a lot of draught ale was of variable quality, both on its own, and as a 50-50 'mix' with bitter. Sam Smith's I consider of much higher quality than the market leader here, and it's a rich and flavoursome pint, well-balanced, with just a hint of sweetness, and plenty of complex flavours

2P9hYOP.jpg

I'll be saving the Stingo until last myself Barrett. It's expensive here too, and not that easy to get hold of, even in Sam Smith's pubs - little wonder as it costs about £10 a pint, many times more than the cost of the bitter

Looking good Harvey :)

I've been having a pleasant enough day, mainly spent reading my Sheffield book :) Hope everyone is having a good day

Thank you David. Thanks for the interiors of The Fat Cat.

Hey, I know that place! :D

Thanks chaps. I just thought I'd remind myself what the inside of one of my favourite pubs looks like.

Here's the night before o_O

Oh that's Manchester pretty much every Saturday. :D

I’ve never understood why they measure the capacity of truck beds in cubic feet and not the same way they measure coolers: “how many cans of beer can it hold?” ;)

Aye, or in pints. How many pints is that trunk? How many square pints is that house? How many pints does that fridge cost? :D

Also, I googled “Wigan butty” and subsequently learned about the “pie barm.” o_O :D

:D I hope it got your mouth watering. :D
I must admit though, I've never actually had one.

As I've done absolutely nothing today and my internet is being really clunky I'm recycling a pic.
Hope everyone's having a nice Sunday.
