Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

DSC-3155.jpg

I CE and CF this everyday as he has permanent residence on my computer desk. He has slayed quite a few envelopes. (ok, I open all the junk mail just to have the pleasure of putting it to work :)) For some reason, which I really like, this one is much easier to pinch open than my other Wrights.

Thanks Jack for allowing me to adopt this one!

I was in charge of dinner tonight.
John, I see absolutely nothing wrong with that meal! :)

Good Morning Guardians, hope everyone is doing OK :) I waited in all day yesterday for some deliveries, which are now due to arrive today  Halfway through another week, and I'm carrying my 2018 Guardians Lambsfoot in ebony. Have a good day folks, and don't forget to enter that giveaway

That’s a great photo Jack! The different colors really make your ‘18 Ebony standout! :)

That’s a beauty! Congratulations on being the proud owner of a Sambar Hartshead Barlow. They’re one of Jacks best SFOs! :)

Back to work after taking 5 days off to go camping, no phone, internet or TV it was great. It’s kinda funny with things starting to open up again my work is slowing down, warehouse at capacity and with most of our customers not open but buying product , they are full also. Nice to have a little breather.

I thought I would show the other side of my companion today,

Great pic buddy :) I had the springs on the Hartshead Barlows eased just a smidgen ;) Also, as they use the straight frame, there is more blade to pinch

It's "Wooden Wednesday" and I'm noticing a number of Hartsheads being carried lately.

That patina is looking good Rachel :)

Thanks a lot Ron, the mosaic tiles were actually in the bottom of a water feature in Sheffield Peace Gardens, I am always looking for new backgrounds these days! :D

Hello Guardians! I’m carrying this Ironwood big ‘un this morning. :)

Wonderful wood Ron :)

I checked out the link Jack. An interesting bit of history. I assume the Gardens are a popular attraction! Thanks for the compliment on my Ironwood buddy! :)

They have always been very popular with the people of Sheffield, sitting right in the city centre, next to the Town Hall. When I was younger, they looked very different (see below), and as teenagers we would sit on the grass there and drink beer. There were protests when the gardens were dug up in the late 1990's, but though very different now, they are as popular as ever :)

You’re working on a great patina on your Rosewood Hartshead!

That patina is looking good Rachel :)
Thanks, guys! I always enjoy watching a patina develop. One of the things I was especially attracted to with the Hartshead is that the bolster is the same carbon steel as the blade, so I get to watch it patina, as well.

I'm not the only one fascinated, :D

Happy Wednesday Gaurdians !
Jack, Barrett, you guys have inspired me to buy some Samuel Adams:thumbsup: Store 5 mins from here carries a couple of offerings and it's been awhile since I picked up a few, I'll be sipping one Saturday :)

My little un got out for a picture this morning.

Are you confusing Samuel Adams for Samuel Smith, Rob? They are both excellent, however.

I was thinking Smith and typing Adams, thanks for pointing out my typo Vince:thumbsup: I bought a 12 pack of Sam Adams 2 weeks ago, it was a mixture of 4 of their Summer beers, I agree both are good beers but I haven't had a good stout in awhile, I'm feeling like the Oatmeal stout for Saturday

Enjoy your Oatmeal Stout Rob ;) Lovely old stag on that lovely old knife :)

Good Morning Guardians and anyone else looking in.

Well, I needed some lemon for my iced tea last night so, I used one of my Standard two-blade lambfoot knives with rosewood covers to do the slicing. Here are the before and after pictures.

David that would be a nice one to have new bone covers put on:thumbsup: I like a lambfoot and pen 2 blade:thumbsup: I'm having mine done in smooth horn. Here's a big un with the same nasty covers, because of that it's become a permanent resident of a pocket in my gym bag, otherwise it's a great knife.

Aye I picked up my twin-blade as it was one I didn't have. Though folk are right; it is a bit of lump if you've not got big pockets.

Jack, do your robins migrate, or are they year-round residents of Yorkshire? In my area, the robins leave for the winter, and there's all this "cultural baggage" about robins being the harbingers of springtime.

Year round GT. There's a culture in the UK, started in the Victorian era of Robins appearing on Christmas cards and being a symbol of Christmas.

Sorry to read that your walk "backfired" on you, David :(; I hope your back is soon fit as a fiddle. Nice photos of the Eye of Sauron on your trip!:thumbsup::cool:

LamBarJack with me all week:

Cheers GT. That's a good shot of LamBarJack there.

Maybe a candidate for a makeover? Since there's usually only a fractional difference between the Bexoid and Rosewood models, I don't know why anyone ever buys them as new  Having said that, I don't mind the older Bexoid (which is different to the modern plastic used)

Aye Jack, I bought my twin-blade with bexoid cos it was the only twin-blade one available in the shop, otherwise I'd have chosen different covers.

That's just food-grade mineral too isn't it? Barnitt's never seem to have it in stock these days. The last place I saw it was in Peter Maturi's in Leeds, which must have been closed 10 years now :(

Aye. It must be available in catering supply shops or on the internet.

:D:thumbsup::thumbsup: Bill, I immediately thought of the old The Shadow radio broadcasts when I saw Greg's post; I think I have some episodes on cassette audio tapes that we used to listen to on long car trips in a 1996 Dodge Caravan equipped with a cassette player.

Last time I looked, all of the Shadow radio shows are on Youtube.

Looks great, David! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Cheers GT, tasted great. :D

sorry I may of missed a couple of quotes but I've rushed this as I'm watching the live coverage of the Crew Dragon Demo-2 launch live on tintaweb.

Todays carry doing nothing.

Hey Jack- hey no apologies needed matey- I didn't take it as a Political post my friend at all. :D That lass has taken the world by Storm though with her approach!

Have a wonderful day, or wherever you are possibly a wonderful afternoon!:)

Very interesting photos Ed  Hey, I hope that wound dressing went OK

Year round GT. There's a culture in the UK, started in the Victorian era of Robins appearing on Christmas cards and being a symbol of Christmas.

Was there a reason that started David, that you know?

I don't know if you got it from Barnitt's David, but I always roll my eyes when I see their knife board, and they have just got a small number left. Why don't they order more, and keep them in stock. Not that the Sheffield firms have the gumption to hire a Traveller, or even to ring round to see if they need any stock o_O

Aye. It must be available in catering supply shops or on the internet.

It is still available as 'liquid paraffin', but only in those large pet supply places you come across in the middle of nowhere. The last time I was looking for some, I needed to buy a gallon!

Todays carry doing nothing.

Looking good, doing nothing ;) Hope you've had a good day David

I almost bought this at Wal-Mart for $3.78:

Then I realized it was the other Jack Black. :D

WAYYYYYY overpriced Vince!

Thank you very much Duncan, my evening is going well mate :D ;)

Just got a request on Imgur to sign up for an 'Ad Free Experience' for $5 a month! That doesn't sound good o_O

Chewing my way through the Sam Smith's Chocolate Stout tonight :) I got to agree with Barrett's comments on this one, and it's a little sweet for me (if I drink a sweet stout, I want a higher ABV). I don't mind sharing a bottle occasionally, and if you like chocolate, this might be one to try
