Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

So many great posts, I have fallen too far behind. Hope everyone is doing well, and I hope to get caught up tomorrow, so I'll just buzz by for now. Stay safe, Guardians!

That was my dad’s favorite movie. :D

Really? :D It's a good one, and certainly a novel take on my favourite book :)

Good looking lunch sammich and chips Jack.

Good morning Guardians! Around 7am I had a couple of 100 calorie high fiber English Muffins with Canadian bacon, egg, American cheese and a French roast coffee! I guess you could say I've got and International theme going this morning! ;) I'm carrying my 2017 Guardians SFO "Midnight Special" this morning. I'll show y'all a little pile side action. Be safe out there, this COVID stuff is getting scary again! :)

It's great to see you here Randy! Nothing at all wrong with your photos my friend! :)

Thanks Ron, your international breakfast sounds delicious :) Great to see more of your Midnight Special my friend :)
It was a pretty good breakfast. I'm trying to eat healthy so I should have had just one instead of two! Old habits are truly hard to break! ;) The "Midnight Special" is a beaity Jack. The more you look at the horn, the deeper it looks! Thanks Jack! :)

Good Morning Guardians
John, that's a beauty my friend! :)

I'm sure you'll work off those extra calories Ron, the way you've been going lately ;) I remember admiring those 5 Midnight Specials, in terms of the 2017 Guardians knives, everyone wanted the horn with the most striking character, but I thought those knives had another level of beauty, looking at that horn is like staring into a dark, bottomless pool. Very difficult to capture in a photograph though :)

Good morning Guardians  A pair sporting bone covers.

There's certainly lots of worse choices for breakfast Ron:thumbsup: Old habits really are hard to break, just keep chipping away at them and never give up;)

You're probably right Jack. The way I’ve been sweating it off lately a couple hundred calories won’t last long! ;) You’re exactly right about the Midnight Special Jack! I couldn’t have described it better my friend! :)

So much for retirement eh Ron?! :D ;) I gifted my own to @Peregrin, who does so much for us here, but I was glad to own it for a little while, and to see them all. I think you really have to have them in-hand to really appreciate them :)

The healthy food change is something I started 20+ years ago, I was 39 and had gotten a little heavier than I liked by about 20 lbs or so. I started out just reducing calories, several months later I added an exercise routine and somewhere at the beginning of the exercise routine I started replacing one bad food with a good one, as I got used to not eating that particular bad food I would pick another and replace it. That approach allowed me not to relapse back to my crappy old diet. It's really difficult to make any 180 turn around on diet like flipping a light switch and not give up and go back to your old eating habits or at least for me it was.
To this day I still allow myself a little treat occasionally, we get pizza maybe twice a year and occasionally eat other not so healthy foods. Sugar is the worst in my opinion, fortunately I never had much of a sweet tooth. And of course my fondness of good beer is my worst indulgence in empty calories which I only allow myself to get into on weekends. Moderation is key in food, beer and many other things:thumbsup: Stick with it and never give up!
Good advice, Rob.:thumbsup: I've done quite well on reducing calories and increasing exercise, but I still have lots of room for improvement regarding replacing bad foods with good ones!

My Lambsfoot flock has grown some lately Jack. I need to make an effort towards a family portrait someday soon! :)
I'd like to see a pic of your entire flock of "Tennessee Lambs" when you've had a chance to get them all together, Ron!:thumbsup::cool: (Do you know the song "Dixie Chicken" by Little Feat? ;)
)

Morning Guardians :)

As always, great photos of your ebony lambsfoot, Dan!:cool::thumbsup: Is the knife actually balanced on the rock in the second shot?? It looks absolutely gravity-defying!:rolleyes:

...
Wells is nice. Part of the reason we decided to go was because they filmed the majority of Hot Fuzz there. :D
...
Tonight I decided to crack open that canned-in-2013 Oskar Blue’s Ten FIDY Imperial Stout. Nothing wrong with it at all; in fact, it was still pretty good! It has a lot of the flavors you’d get with a barrel-aged stout, really pronounced roasted malts, and a bit of hoppy bitterness (if I remember correctly, it has a high IBU for a stout).

I paired it with my Ebony Guardians Lambsfoot, which I consider to be the Imperial Stout of Lambsfoot knives. :D

Thanks for the additional fine photos of Wells, Barrett!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Glad (and not very surprised) that vintage stout turned out well! ;):thumbsup:

We must have had over 8 inches of rain in this last week and more is coming all next week too:eek:.
...
That's too much rain, Bill!

...
Had me ol' '18 with me yesterday.....er, was that the day before???

Great shot of your ebony Guardians lambsfoot, FBC!:cool::cool: I've spent far too much time trying to guess what the background is; my current best guess is the pavement in a handicapped parking space.

Good morning, Guardians!

I've got a lot of catching up to do here after a very busy week. But first, chores.

Exquisite example of the first batch of Guardians Lambsfoot knives, Greg!:thumbsup::cool:

Just a few pics from my walk yesterday.
...
Splendid photos, David! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Down and dirty this morning. I've been lightly using this Hartshead and it's starting to patina.

Handsome stag lambsfoot knives, ED and José!:cool::thumbsup:

Back from fishing...
Okay, let's call it hiking with a rod.
The fish were not cooperative in the least.
Beautiful day to be in nature and getting a little exercise.
...
Glad you could spend some time "down by the riverside", John; excellent photos, including the quarantine rock and lambsfoot!:cool::cool:

...
Good Afternoon Guardians.

Striking jigged bone WCLFs, Harvey & Ron!:thumbsup::cool:

Impressive colander GT! Intact handles noted. And your Hartshead Barlow looks great of course!
That colander looks familiar. Here is ours (my wife had it when I met her in 1984, and I have no idea when or where she got it), I have used it countless times:

Thanks for the colander contributions, Dave and @lambertiana !:thumbsup::cool:

We’re starting to see some pubs and restaurants open here, with a 20 person limit.

This dark Czech lager was the standout of the styles I tasted.
Nice colour to it, too...

Thanks for all the fascinating photos, Chin!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
The "red" Czech beer and lambsfoot are a pretty pair!
I hope the Australian "opening" goes well; there seem to be some setbacks in the US. :(

Cool pics Gary :D :)

Sheffield used to have a huge meat and fish market, which was a great place to shop. ... Here's how it has looked for several years now, with every business closed :(

Thanks, Jack. :)
Sad story/photo of the butchers' row in Sheffield. :(

Pretty knife, José! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

You're the man for the job, GT.:thumbsup:
...
I appreciate your confidence in me, John!:)

Good Morning Guardians
Skoll's Ironwood is getting darker, I hope the wolf doesn't disappear.
Wolves NEVER disappear, they just go into hiding!:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks Gary, the buses between Leeds and Harrogate have a wee library at the front of the bus :D

Very handsome :)

LOL! :D Funny story Gary, maybe they had been watching Mary Poppins :D ;)

Thank you my friend, I'm afraid mine was just filched off the internet, though I'm sure I have a photo of the framed version hanging on the wall of the pub ;) Fine pic of your Valley Jack :)
Thanks for the encouraging words, Jack. :) Valley Jack is a photogenic knife.
Our city buses have recently added book racks near the front of the bus as part of a cooperative program with the public library, but they don't seem to be re-stocked very frequently.

No, not this time Jer. Nothing urgent, but, at the very least, it'll mean another day waiting in

Not exactly rave reviews of their services! Must be very frustrating for you, Jack! :(

Same here.
My wife wants to take a bunch of trips, but she doesn't fully understand what it does to me.

Proving once again that the "experts" have no clue.
Perhaps this bout of quarantine learning will help reshape our learning system.

I can't do any extra work at school, too many things/people begging for my attention.
...
If I'm not the driver, I seem to do OK on car trips; if I'm driving, I need fairly frequent stops to walk around, stretch, etc which turns out to be quite time-consuming.
I hope I soon get some specifics about what the administration envisions for how classes will operate in the fall to conform with social-distancing requirements.
