Thanks Gary! Valley Jack is a beautiful knife my friend! :)

If anything, I'd say the patina is even more attractive on that side of the blade Ron
Yes, and the stag is more nicely colored too! ;)

Thanks, Jack. So far, so good.

A cup of tea brewed in the great outdoors with a Hartshead in tow seems great way to social distance to me!

That's good to hear mate :)

Me too

No gloves were worn in the taking of this picture. :D

You must have scored some great patches recently.:thumbsup:

LOL! :D

I got a few through from these folks yesterday, souvenirs of a strange time

Great looking Lambsfoot, and a great looking trail to be with the family on a walk, Dan!:thumbsup:
Thank you Dennis.
We are now experiencing a heat wave, hard to believe the weather has changed so much in only a weeks. Doing less walking these days but fortunate there is a little beach close to home that is open to go and cool off.
Great pics Dan. I found a tick the size of a marble on me yesterday.
LOL :D
( I confess that I did a google search to see if there are ticks in England , lol ..... YEAP, you have them too, lyme disease an all

Thanks for the info about your amazing skills and your family's even more amazing love for you, Dan!:D:cool:
Thank you GT, they are a great bunch :)

It's black, it's morning, it's wound care day, it's never going to end.:( It sucks.

thanks for keeping me abreast of my local news my friend :)
My pleasure.:D I thought the concept, clever. Band lineup, not so much.

That's one of the most unusual Lambsfoot knives I think I've ever seen Harvey, Shadow-pattern with shield and easy-open notch  Are those Bexoid scales?
I think(?) it’s Bexoid. I don’t have your Sheffield cutlery knowledge, but I wondered if the shadow pattern with the notch and shield was ever a catalog offering. In addition, the blade doesn’t go all the way to the back. The build, whether authentic or a Lamb Foot blade grafted on a shadow pattern, is executed superbly. As I would expect from a vintage Joseph Rodgers. Thoughts?

it was one of twelve sets issued by the Vatican
very cool!

The big’un decided to show off its backside this morning!
Wow, Ron. beautiful patina!

Rather seedy, but splendid nonetheless, Harvey!:cool::thumbsup:
Thank you GT.

That jigging is memorable, Harvey!:thumbsup::cool:
Thank you again, GT.

Yeah, growing problem here Dan  I kitted myself with anti-tick stuff last year, for the first time

Happy Saturday Guardians

LOL! :D I ran a bar at Leeds Festival for a couple of years, barely a band worth seeing, and that is perhaps an overly generous summary

I have never seen another like it Harvey. Could be it was made up by one of the old Little Mesters, or even at Rodgers, if they had spare parts

very cool!

I thought so too, but it turns out they're all 19th century fakes, and the Vatican stuff is made-up! :D Still pretty cool though ;)

That's an unusually round nose for a Wright's blade isn't it Harvey? Nicely photographed, as always :)

Ace pic Kevin

I'm just sampling one of the beers I got from the Saltaire Brewery the other day ;)

When I was a kid Tony Christie lived near us, and we'd regularly see him, or more usually his trophy wife, driving around in their white Rolls-Royce. If we mentioned it to my dad, he'd always say, "He's just a club singer!" He said that about every vocalist who wasn't Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, or Ella Fitzgerald, but in this case I think he was actually right

One of the many things I like about the 1970's is that even the rich and famous had really bad haircuts! :D

May be true for Elvis and George Jones, but Sinatra never had a bad haircut. (He was going bald, though.)

A rare exception Vince! :D Perhaps it was because he never grew his hair long? Thankfully! :D

Mind you, even in recent years, I can remember when McCartney had his hair dyed that ridiculous shade of chestnut, wondering if he had a small mammal on his head

Cool pics Vince, I bet that jasmine smells as good as it looks :)

That sounds about right to me.

Thank you Jack. Your image looks quite refreshing.

They never waste anything in Sheffield Harvey, and sometimes parts sit around for decades before being put to use ;)

Thank you my friend, I thought I'd have another ;)

It smells great! I may sit outside with my son later, smoking cigars and drinking whiskey. Maybe. Got him some Four Roses Small Batch Select for his birthday (Monday, but celebrating today). He might bring me something, as tomorrow is Father's Day. :) He usually gives me Scotch or bourbon. Wife's making chicken piccata with pasta and roasted vegetables, daughter is making tiramisu, and I'm making a salad and pouring the wine. (I have the tough job!)
I guess it's late "over there", but hope you have a nice evening and a wonderful Sunday.

I'll take some scenery pics around here with lambsfoot in tow, it's very flat land in this area, crop land and cattle grazing land with trees mixed in. The park across the street has nice trees in spots. Thanks David

Sounds a lot like where I actually live. North Cheshire is completely flat for miles and regarded as being one of the most boring places in England. :D
Which it is.

Thank you David. A pair of cuflinks made with vintage manual wind movements. One of my careers was selling high end timepieces. I often wore these when selling.:)

Wonderful images of your hiking images, with the obligatory pork pie picnicking. I simply must try a pork pie, some day.

Great one Harvey; there very unique, I've not seen anything like them before. No cufflinks for me in my job; I've got to be bare below the elbows.

Same over here David, but it looks like you had an excellent walk the day before :) Incredible photos

Cheers Jack. That reminds me I've got to get to the local farm shop and pick me up some fresh Henderson's.

Thanks, David. Excellent photos of your walk (as always). I feel like you hear a lot about the UK’s high population density, but there are certainly parts of the country where you don't really notice it at all. ;)

Oh yeah our population is quite concentrated into three areas. Greater London, the West Midlands centred around the city of Birmingham, and then the north-west of England and across the Pennines and up the spine of the south Pennines from South Yorkshire into West Yorkshire.
What is today being referred to as the Liverpool/Leeds conurbation. Between 3500-5000 people per sq/km. I live in the red bit just below the 'n' of Wigan.
FeJnt8D.png

But I have mates who live in Ryedale, North Yorkshire and their population density is 76 per sq/km. Where my sister lives up near the Scottish Border it's 8.

Good morning Guardians, I'll be without internet a few days, hopefully I can take a few pictures to post next week, here's a recycled picture, have a great weekend :thumbsup:

Oh if only they still made them like that.

Good Afternoon Guardians.

And like that to.

Happy Friday, Guardians!

Thanks mate, yes it was an enjoyable walk for sure, along an old rail trail in the Yarra Valley which used to transport produce from farms into the markets in Melbourne.

The ‘Green Bans’ were largely responsible for Melbourne being the ‘liveable’ city which it is today.

Prepping some condiments for a garden vegetable soup earlier this year with Ol’ Ironsides:

Ahhh you mention the Yarra. I just had to post this pic of the Yarra in Melbourne taken from ?Southern Cross Tower.
PpAXueI.jpg

I'm not a fan of big cities but I thought Melbourne the finest I've been to. Couldn't afford to live there like but I loved the market. :D:thumbsup:

Hope the soup turned out good.

That looks like great coffee mate :) I had an accident yesterday when a flask of good hand-ground coffee leaked in my (otherwise empty) rucsac. I've sponged it down a couple of times, and left it to dry in the bathroom, but now my bathroom smells of coffee  I'm going to be getting some strange looks the next time I use the sack! :D

Errr I've got in my head bicarbonate of soda for odours that don't wash out??

Cheers! Good news. I just read(Yorkshire Evening Post) that:
Leeds East Airport to host Utilita Live From The Drive-In concerts including The Streets, Beverley Knight and Dizzee Rascal
Dizzee Rascal, Kaiser Chiefs, Gary Numan and Spandau Ballet's Tony Hadley will perform during a series of socially-distanced drive-in music concerts this summer.

Why does that remind me of hell?

We had fun visiting the antique stores.
Unfortunately, nothing followed me home.
I was very tempted by this one item though...

Oh I could use that right now! :D

Thank you Harvey, and thanks for keeping me abreast of my local news my friend :) Not sure I'd drive to the bottom of my street to see most of that line-up though :D

You won't have to Jack. Something tells me everyone in Leeds will be able to listen to that racket sat in the lounge.

Splendid photos, David! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks GT. I hope that snow Valley Jack is resting near isn't anything to do with those recent Californian flakes.

Yeah, we never used to have them. Apparently they came over on Scandinavian lumber imports?? Not sure how they figured that out though. I love those woods; looks like somewhere you could build a den and self-isolate.

Inspired by Les's post.

I hope you all have a great summer solstice planned.

A rare exception Vince! :D Perhaps it was because he never grew his hair long? Thankfully! :D
I'm guessing it was because of his age. My father never had a weird '70s haircut-- he wore it same as he did in the '30s, '40s, & '50s, and got a haircut every two weeks or so. Normal haircut, like Sinatra, Dean Martin, or Cary Grant. I, however, was a teenager in the '70s and unfortunately had long hair for a few years. :p

Good Morning Guardians and Happy Saturday
John, great looking HHB.

I had not seen that thread, pretty cool though. :) I am glad you enjoyed the Razorback matchbook. I am from south Arkansas and there are plenty of Razorback fans there for sure.
Great looking lambfoot knife:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Good afternoon Guardians - just got back from the links. Decided to treat myself for Father's Day. Hope all you fathers out there have a real fine weekend - mine's shaping up just great.
