Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Cool pic Jer :D My guess is that some teenager has been having some fun with a stone-chisel :eek:_O Rather an eclectic selection of ancient marks, even some runes
Or the aliens are trying something more durable than crop circles!
I can't find any of my alien craft in the basement, so here's a farming reference.

This'll be the first day with Rosie back in my pocket. Broke a thumbnail again last week and if those aren't up to snuff there's no working with her. It's also a first after she received some more repair work, the super glue that was holding the mark side scale on let go... So I went nuclear with some flex glue. Hopefully that will hold up a bit better!

Wild Willie Wild Willie - How did your knife come to be in such a strait? From you picture, the pins in the mark side scale seem to be in place. Did the scale actually separate from the knife or just loosen? Did you purchase it from a Sheffield dealer? Anyway, it looks to be a fine knife.

It came from an individual here on the exchange and when I received it both scales were loose, this was before I was aware of the qc issues with A Wright and son. I gave it a little tlc and it's come to be one of my favorite knives. The super glue I used last wasn't up to holding on the brass liner after one of several drops. And thank you Ed, she is a fine tool.

I think I had noted before that you are a fellow Oregonian. I am currently on notice for possible evacuation - it still looks like night here and there is quite the coating of ash everywhere. We may just have to get out of here regardless, the air quality is incredibly poor.
We're in Eugene, haven't had any notice but are packing up stuff to put in the truck just in case. And, yes, the lambsfoot will be riding comfortable if we have to go.

Good morning, Guardians!

Jack, I am quite pleased to see this thread open back up - I hope it remains the sort of place we've all come to enjoy over the past years.

I will post a pic that I had prepared for here before I realized the pause button had been hit - Linus made it back safe and sound (thank you, Mark!). I think I will hang onto him for now and once things return back to normal, perhaps we can resume the passaround - maybe even expand on it some.

It’s great to see Linus again. He’s a fine Lambsfoot indeed! Another great photo Dylan! :)

Best wishes to you and your family Dylan. It sounds like things are not going well in your neck of the woods! Stay safe out there! :)

It’s a bit early here at the moment (wrong 5 o’clock ;)), but I’ve got one more of these in the fridge, along with a few other Sam Smith’s stragglers. I think I’ll celebrate later.

It's never to early for a bita' Yorkshire... :D

Jack Black Jack Black Jack, I’m happy to say this thread opening back up is one of the best Birthday presents I got for my 66th! I’m still not sure who or what exactly happened. Jack, please forgive the lack of personal contact from me over the past week. I think you know my feelings towards you and all my friends here in the Guardians! When I awoke last Monday to find the thread closed and in reading your last post prior to the closing, I really didn’t know what to think! I had already planned a day trip with my daughter so I just chose to not post anything on the Porch. That turned into a week away from the Porch. I chose to start back posting yesterday after I had spent a day celebrating my birthday with my family! I certainly hope we can all remain friendly here while showing our love for the Lambsfoot and respecting the rules of posting in this thread as well as the Traditional forum in general. After all, this thread is one of the best on the Porch. :)

Well said Ron.
And Happy Birthday. Hope you havin' a good'un.

It's back.
Lets celebrate.

The tankard and bottle opener were amongst other things a very generous gift from Jack when we met up in Harrogate a couple and a bit weeks ago.
Here's hoping everyone's well.

Good day Guardians :)
Honorary member "Chippy" and I are happy to be here today :)

Hi everyone!! Good to see you all back! I admit I am something of a part-timer on this thread, but no place else has the landscape and camaraderie that happens here!! Thanks Jack Black Jack Black , and everyone, for the "Porchiest place on the Porch!!:DView attachment 1415189

Always a treat when you call in Charlie :) Hope you're keeping well my friend :)

Hello fellow guardians!

Wild Willie Wild Willie For a nail-breaker pull, see my post https://www.bladeforums.com/posts/19449844/

Wright's recently told me this is exactly the procedure they use to lighten a spring! They made a tool for it, but the concept is the same. They also said to go easy because you can break a spring or make it too light.

Hope this helps.
:thumbsup::thumbsup: Thank you for the link, another informative piece of info i can add to my work shop, great stuff.

Thank you David! :) Very useful gifts from your pal Jack there! He certainly has a knack about things like that! ;) :D

Happy birthday Ron, certainly is a good pressie to receive, you have a good day mate.
Thank you! :)

I missed you too Mark! :) Hope you're doing OK my friend

That's quite a temperature variation! Here, it looks like our variable summer is over, and while the weather here on Saturday, when I had my hike, was generally good, it wasn't particularly warm, and rained for about an hour (I was near some woodland, and nipped in there for porridge and coffee, and a bit of slingshot practice). You can see the rain heading my way in this photo of a local reservoir.

Great pic of your 2019 Guardians Lambsfoot Mark :)

Yorkshire tea and a WCLF Lambsfoot :) What a great combination ;)
I'm doing well Jack thanks, and hope the same for you.
Speaking of rain, it's a cool 44 F right now and a gentle rain- the first rain we've had in over 40 days! August here was the driest month recorded in over 100 years! Everything is burnt to a crisp and the Raspberries are having a hard time putting on fruit, but maybe there is hope still.
Thanks for the compliment, Jack.

Good morning Guardians! :D I’m glad to have this special Jack Black Ebony in my pocket today! :)

Great to see Linus back home, Dylan! It really is a load off my mind. Thanks for your understanding, patience and forgiveness, it's greatly appreciated.
My thoughts are with you and hoping for the best with your current fire situation.
