Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning Guardians! I started posting earlier this morning, but I had to cut it short to make it to a dental appointment. I’m back home now with a new crown and a sore and numb jaw. Shot my next weeks knife budget all to heck too! ;) Jack has been showing the photos of the 2019 Guardians Ironwood flock! I was fortunate to get two of these and one is in my pocket today! :)

Hope the numbness wears off soon Ron, and that you're not too sore my friend  Great to see one of your '19s :)

Thanks Jack! I should be good to go by lunch time. The Ironwood was exceptional on the ‘19s my friend. My DamLam, also from ‘19 of course, is also Ironwood and it’s not to bad to look at either! ;) :D

That's good to hear Ron, don't want you missing your lunch ;) That Ironwood was from the same batch my friend :)

I feel your pain Ron - believe me I do. Here's my 2019 Guardians Ironwood. While not a lot of pattern in the covers it is a nice example.

Thanks Jack! I managed to eat some left over Chinese food. ;) I can't miss many meals I might whither away to nothing! Yes indeed, the DamLams in Ironwood could definitely hold their own my friend! :D

Nice Ironwood Ed! I know my minor amount of pain is absolutely nothing to compare with some of the things you've experienced! Hopefully that is behind you now Ed! :)

Good to see you here Russell, hope you're keeping well buddy :) That's nice, what are the covers?

Thank you Jack! Fine here and keeping in good spirits, hope you are much the same. The covers something I have not found out exactly. They look like scored wood, but can't be sure other than that my one other guess is some sort of Micarta. further investigation is needed. The knife itself was made by John Nowill & Sons. 60's vintage I'm thinking.

Good for you buddy ;) I know what you mean, we can't afford to waste away! :D I have a younger friend, who has been complaining about putting on weight these past few months. He has stopped drinking for a while, but was complaining that, no matter how much exercise he did, he couldn't seem to shift the extra weight. When I asked him how much he's actually put on, he told me he'd put on half a kilo - ONE POUND!

Garden to kitchen, rinse and repeat.

That's good to hear Russell :) I'm doing OK thanks my friend  That's very interesting indeed, I wonder if it's some kind of pressed wood or wood-laminate, designed to simulate jigged bone? There was a lot of experimentation with covers in the 60's and 70's, as Sheffield manufacturers tried to cut costs, or sources of more traditional materials dried up. It looks to have been nicely made, and is similar in appearance to A. Wright's Lambsfoot knives. After 1947, the Nowill mark was used by F.E. & J.R. Hopkinson Ltd, though they mainly produced/sold fixed blade knives. After 1988, Jack Adams acquired the mark. Adams have only ever produced fixed blade knives, but sell folders they have made for them, produced for some years by Wright's

Nice pic David :)

Cheers Guardians :)

Cheers Jack, hope them Saltaires went down easily.

Thank you David! :) Very useful gifts from your pal Jack there! He certainly has a knack about things like that! ;) :D

To be honest I've never been that hard to buy for. Beer and all things beer related generally cover it. :D

What a cool tankard, David! Excellent photo and I'll join you in celebrating!

2019 Ironwood SFO and "Last chance" Ebony SFO ;) Both thanks to Jack Black Jack Black .

At the lake to beat the heat and the smoke today!

What a beautiful looking lake. I like your pocket slip to; it seems to be aging nicely.

Thinking of a stroll out tomorrow so it's the rosewood big'un for me.

They have been going down VERY easily David, with their generally quite modest ABVs, they've quite changed my style of drinking  I did pick up a few stronger brews from a local ale shop I passed today though, including a 12% Imperial Stout from Northern Monk ;) That's a beautiful photo, I hope you get weather that good tomorrow my friend :)

Yes Thank you Ron, doing good here! Hope you are doing fine in these very strange times.

Russell
We are doing fine thanks! They are definitely strange times! :)

Woah! Jack, I don’t think I could sleep knowing I’d gained a whole POUND!

I should look into one of those “weekly knife budgets”.:D

Hey Ron, when I was a kid, my Dad suggested that we should be doing birthdays the other way around~ give presents to our parents to thank them for having us and letting us stick around another year.
Of course, he was a dad, so he re-told it every year;)

Glad you and Pam got to see your daughter.

LOL! :D Good to see that one here Jeff, I was admiring it in the EDC thread earlier :)

Looking well-loved Chuck :) You can always edit a post, you know Chuck :)

Thank you my friend, I'm pretty sure Taylor @tmd_87 ended up with that one :)

Bam-ba-Lamb! ;)

Very good! :D
Jack sorry for the multiple posts, I was doing this on my phone in a poor reception area. I will clean them up.

Weekly knife budgets are actually a figment of my over zealous imagination Jeff! ;) Your dad sounds a lot like my dad with that sense of humor! I would really love to have given my mom and dad something on my birthday. A hug would have been nice! We’ve enjoyed the visit but two weeks passes fast and she’s headed back to Metropolis on Saturday! ;)
