Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good evening, this is not knife related but thought many of you may find it interesting. Was watching an episode of the British series of Antiques Roadshow last night. They had someone produce a tin plate racing car to have it valued, i know nothing of such matters and thought it may be 200 pounds as it was in good condition.. The presenter went weak at the knees, turned out this particular make and model are very rare. Made by a German company called Guntherman or also known as GTH, was made between 1905-1912, in good working order. Valued at between 12,000-15,000 pounds.
They used to send out catalogue's that had 500 pages of toys in them, and at their peak employed 2,500 workers, for a company well over a hundred years ago that was a staggering amount. And it just shows, if you make good stuff and look after it, they will last.:).

I just realized I didn't post any pictures in a while....

Tuning in some new bands this morning, which I can sometimes find a little frustrating  Couple of strays :(

Hoping to spend a bit of time on my latest walking pole after lunch, but I need a couple of things from the hardware store

I've had quite a busy day today, and my first Covid vaccination is finally due tomorrow - unfortunately a 4-5 mile walk comes included, and the forecast is for heavy rain and strong winds here tomorrow - So I think I'm going to kick back this evening, and take it easy :)

I definitely need to find a lamsfoot knife.
I missed the GEC run by Charlie so it's off to the auction site I go.

They're essential! :D

Wonderful photo Dwight, cool old spirit-level :) I was looking for a pair of calipers last night to measure something, and realised that I'd lent them to a friend in Sheffield, who had never returned them. Ordinarily, I'd get some off my mate's tool-stall, but because of the lockdown, I had to order a set online. I hate having to buy modern tools o_O

Make sure you hydrate after the shots, drink water....no, beer will not do ( though I wish it did), I asked:confused:

Thanks for the good advice buddy, I'll have the ibuprofen on hand too  I shall miss my beer :(

Good morning Guardians, a busy day for me here, as I have a bunch of stuff to do in addition to getting my vaccination. I haven't carried my AC in a while, so putting that right today. Have a good day folks, take care out there

I took it from the urban farm down the road David, they have cut a load of saplings down this year, and it looks to me like they're going to start knocking out Christmas trees (can't think why else you'd plant those incongruous conifers). A couple of my neighbours work there, so I'll ask them about the wood when I see them. I was glad to get a piece so straight. That's the third I've had, but I have left the bark on the others.

That looks like a great walk my friend, and your photos are stunning, but that top pork pie and Lambsfoot photo is spectacular, what a great place to have your snap :)

As the barbers are closed here right now, I was about to run the clippers over my nut yesterday, when I realised they had packed in :( I tried fixing them to no avail, and figured I'd certainly had my money's worth out of them, so I ordered a new set online. The postie was knocking on my door with them at 7.30am, so I had time to get a scalping. He also had my Vernier calipers, I've not had a digital set before, but with my deteriorating eyesight, that might be an advantage
