Always looking good Jer :cool::):thumbsup:

I do love a good oat bicky.:p:thumbsup:.

Me too, but I missed my morning toast so much, I went out and bought a sourdough loaf, and came back home and had some! :D I remember years ago, I asked a French friend of mine, who lived in Sheffield about five years, if there were was anything she missed about England, and she said, 'toast'. I thought this was kind of bizarre, but I have got into a routine these past few years, and well over 300 days of the year, I have two slices of toast for my breakfast. Even on the increasingly rare occasions when I have a fry-up, I have to have toast, and it's often what I enjoy most! :D

I'm really sorry to hear this Bill, it sounds like you've been unlucky :( I hope that the shots mean that you only get a mild case. I'm sure everyone here will be rooting for you buddy
This will be the sentiments of all here my friend.

Just found out my younger brother was just diagnosed with Covid
Hope everything works out okay for him.

Stunning image Dwight :)

Doing the best I can with the little spare time I have trying to improve this little one. I barely had enough time to reprofile to 15 degrees and take pictures.

Nice work buddy, those sharpness testers are fascinating gadgets  I picked up one of those wee folding slingshots you showed recently. It's a bit small for my large hands, but I'm still enjoying shooting it :) Of course it won't fold down fully with the bands attached, but it only takes a minute to re-attach them with the system I'm using

Good morning Guardians, bad news about @Onebigbill testing positive :( I hope you're doing OK Bill, and that you don't get any serious symptoms  Hope everyone else is OK too. The weather here is still pretty good, which is always a bit of a surprise in Yorkshire  Plenty of work-related things to do, but I hope I can get out for some fresh air at some point. Have a good day everyone, and stay safe out there :)

I will only be occasionally checking in as I have been recently been diagnosed with COVID:eek:. Symptoms don't seem real severe yet and I hope it stays that way:thumbsup:. I guess this is a rare case because I had my second vaccine shot (Pfizer) a month ago:confused:. Back to bed.View attachment 1533096

Lets hope your ok. The most I got was a mild headache, a mild cough and dizziness which resolved in a few days.

That's a neat little piece of kit. I'm still perseverating over getting my Milbro sorted.

Some of my beers last night.

Thanks pal, tasty-looking brews :) I have to say, with the Milbro, I think I have discovered what I suspect most folks who bought the repros found - it's a nice piece of nostalgia, and takes me back to my youth, but in terms of accuracy and ease of use, it's nowhere near as good as a modern one! :D

Lambsfoot knives are hard to find here in the US, but I found this in a shop I won't name in San Francisco. It is listed by the shop as a J. Adams, But the only mark on the knife is the oval "Made in Sheffield" tang stamp. Jack tells me that current J. Adams knives are made by the A. Wright & Son factory.

Since this is my first of this type, I'll go on a bit about my first impressions. The pins are all flush, and the spring is flush both closed and open. There is negligible play when locked open. The wood was listed on the web as walnut, but on the phone they said it was oak. This sure looks like oak to me, but I'm no expert. The blade is matte, and the bolster is polished bright. I could find no rough edges anywhere. The knife came VERY sharp, but I found a card from the shop saying that they had sharpened it. So I don't know if the shop or the maker made it so sharp. The bevel grinds of the edge are slightly uneven; the left side is ground ever so slightly higher than the right. Then edge bows up slightly at the point of the blade. The point of the blade is slightly too high. I could catch my finger or a business card on the point if I slide it over the closed knife. I filed the kick down slightly to correct this.

The pull is stiff, but I can pinch it open (just). It seems to be breaking in nicely, and has gotten easier after applying a little oil.

I'm trying to be as picky as possible here, but this is very nice knife, definitely a keeper.

Welcome to the Porch, Lambsfoot area. There certainly is a lack of shops that carry Lambsfoot knives in the US and sadly few companies that make them in general. To muddy up the waters, there are some renowned names that are owned by a single company and the QC is sort of hit and miss. The knowledgeable folks here can get into a lot more details but your best bet would be buying older knives- they'll come at a premium.

Fabulous Friday Lambsfoot Dwight :)

The bands attach differently in the ones I bought, and yes, they are a bit on the small side but still fun to shoot.

Those look like they fold much better, and I guess, in both cases, it's very fast to attach the bands/tubes anyway  Maybe I'll get another at some point :) Thanks for the photos

Welcome to the Guardians! :) Thanks for your excellent report. I have seen Wright's produce knives with oak covers, for other firms before, but haven't seen any walnut. That does look like oak doesn't it? A shame about the proud point, I have the same issue with my AC (the only one that was like that), and when I first got it, I intended to correct the issue. However, it is only very slightly proud, and since I carry my pocket knives in slips, it hasn't bothered me - to the point I'd actually forgotten about it! :D I dare say I'll get round to it one day ;) Overall, it sounds like you got a nice example, and I hope you enjoy using it :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is doing well, particularly @Onebigbill (hang in there buddy) I was just about to type that we have another fine day here, until I heard the light rain on the windows. I need to go out to get some shopping later, and was also hoping to meet up with a pal, so I hope it blows over. Have a good Friday Guardians
