Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

with all the highly unusual thread activity at the moment, as some posters try to inflate their post count, in the hope of qualifying for a 2021 forum knife, we ended up halfway down page 2! I can't remember the last time that happened o_O
That is why i am a mere "Deck Swab"o_O i did not even notice that. They say you find your own level of incompetence.. Hope everyone has a good weekend.:).

I'm sure it's mostly down to simple clumsiness, and not bothering to read the sub-forum rules. We always have an influx of new participants on The Porch around this time, but there seems to be a avalanche this year, and I feel sorry for the mods. If the past is anything to go by, a few of these folks will stick around, most won't :(

Thanks Dwight, Sheffield has a very interesting history, but the city council don't value it much unfortunately :( I haven't visited for well over a year now, but I may be going over to help a pal pick up an old Romesse stove, if he wins the bid

Good morning Guardians, with all the highly unusual thread activity at the moment, as some posters try to inflate their post count, in the hope of qualifying for a 2021 forum knife, we ended up halfway down page 2! I can't remember the last time that happened o_O Despite all the excitement, I've had a fairly lazy and uneventful week, and now the weekend is almost upon us :) I thought I'd dig out an Old Friend, in the form of the first Guardians Lambsfoot SFO from 2017 (I gave the 'snake in a box' to my pal's youngest 2-3 years ago, and it's still his most treasure possession :D) Have a good Friday Guardians, and enjoy your weekend

 The colors of this handle are superb. Congrats on that. ;)

That is outstanding!

Thanks Ted :) It's just been over to Sheffield this evening with me (pic from a previous visit)

Great to see you here Mike, hope you're keeping well buddy :) What's the wee doohickey there will your 2019 Guardians Lambsfoot?

Hope everyone is having a pleasant evening :) I went over to Sheffield, in one of my pal's vintage vehicles, to pick up a Romesse pot-bellied stove he'd bought (his is the one that looks like a Russian hand-grenade!). We went via Deepcar, where Stan Shaw's widow lives, and onto Stocksbridge, where she was secretary at the British Steel plant. The guy my pal bought the stove from showed us his 'shed', which was like a small museum, with half a dozen vintage motorcycles, dozens of old oil cans, and a load of other interesting stuff, even a few knives :) Only the second time I've been outside Leeds in over a year, so it made a nice change just to have a short road-trip

I had a couple of the birthday beers I was sent by donn donn tonight :) I imagine David is taking advantage of the good weather to go out and do some hiking. Cheers Guardians

Unfortunately not Jack, I've been either busy at work or working on another legal deposition for another nurse. Utterly, utterly, utterly shocking what's gone on with this Covid fiasco. There's going to be people going to jail for their involvement in this.
Hope you enjoyed the beer, especially the peanut butter one.

First day off this week so I built a rocket stove for the grand total of $22.30 for when the lights go out.

Then had beer.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend planned.

You guys have some fantastic horn on those 2017 lambs. I never cease to be amazed at the beauty of them. Wonderful knives. Jack when you said "via Deepcar" I thought I was gonna see a British antique car! :D Sounds like a interesting trip and I love the old wood stove.

Have a great weekend all.IMG_6908.jpg

It's sounds as if you've had a very busy week David, I hope it's the RIGHT people going to jail, for once!

I especially enjoyed the peanut butter one my friend :)

Old Toffee Wings is looking good Jer :)

LOL! No antique cars, but the guy we visited had a vintage Peugeot motorcycle from the 1930's, an FN of similar vintage, a James, and a couple of BSAs. All immaculately restored  And his wife was the granddaughter of famous Sheffield razor grinder Bill Hukin

Excellent photo there my friend

Thanks Jack. Things are good here. Boring, but boring is preferable to exciting sometimes ;)

Those are begleri beads. Greek fidget/skill toy to keep the hands occupied. Sure beats smoking (coming up on 6 years this Summer) :D

There was a video that got me interested in them a while back. I'm nowhere near as good as the people in it, but I thought it was kind of neat. I wonder how JohnDF JohnDF 's skills are progressing, now that he's had his set for a while now?

I stepped away from cigarettes 6 years ago also, but I started vaping.
I've learned a few wraps, slides, and transitions with the long, and a few cool tricks with the short.
At least enough to keep me entertained while watching TV. Thanks for getting me interested, it's fun.
Oh, great! Yet another thing to get hooked on! THANK you guys!

Just having a few samosas for lunch :)

Could not be outdone, this is my lunch, it is Saturday lunchtime, a Thai Chilli meat pie, keeping the samosa theme going.:p:p:p. You are correct about the Guardians thread being bumped off the front page, but we shall get back to what rightfully belongs to us - Page One - when all the fuss dies down.:D:D:D.
Hope everyone has a good and safe weekend, and looks like everyone's weather is on the improve.:).
