Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks Bill, it's been a pretty miserable day, but the promised thunderstorms have now been postponed until tomorrow  Been a nice enough day anyway, hope you're having a good one buddy

Good for you Joshua, hope you and your AC enjoyed the rest of the day :)

You seem to have had a good one Mike, enjoy your last weekend pal :)

Hope you've had a memorable time Todd :)

Cool pic Jer, it shows off your Ebony '18 well :)

The blackberries are only just coming out here in sun-starved Yorkshire, but I picked enough in the garden yesterday, to make a crumble for tea today :)

That looks yummy, Jack! Is that a custard on top or melted ice cream, or. . .?

Thanks Jack, it has been a really good time, the weather has been fantastic and the food has been pretty good too. Speaking of food, that looks delicious! 👍

A Double Lambsfoot Day for my Sheffield Saturday, the Bagpipe covered beauty c/o our generous host. :)
The best kind of day JJ! :D Hope you had a good one my friend :)
Good afternoon Guardians. I hope you're having fun and staying healthy.
Quality cutlery Ted :) Bon appetit! :)

Thanks Joshua, it was just cold vanilla custard :) Got a couple of more portions of blackberry crumble in the fridge ;)

That's great Todd, I think we've all earned a vacation this country :) Unfortunately, in our overcrowded little country, not everyone here will be getting one :( Thanks buddy :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I don't think I'll be up to much today, but my Lambsfoot always get used, even just in the house. I was considering what I should carry for Sunday, but my hand kind of found its way to my Hartshead Barlow ;) Enjoy your Sunday Guardians, have a good day

Staying hunkered down again due to the rain. My wife and I were able to go out for dinner last night between the rain drops. Had a marvelous meal at a new Asian restaurant that opened about 4 weeks ago. The place was very busy.

Today, I have my Ironwood in the pocket.

Sounds like a lovely evening out Bill :) I'm sure it won't hurt to put your feet up for the day today ;) Have a good one my friend :) Nice to see your 2019 Guardians Lambsfoot

They are by far the best Lambsfoot knives I own to date! I was fortunate enough to snag one on the secondary market last month and the fit and finish are spectacular. The only reason I may start using it (I still just open the box, admire it and put it back and away for now) is because the previous owner was overly zealous in his sharpening efforts and ground part of the choil onto the tang. One can only hope another SFO Lambsfoot will be made in the future.

The way I see it. Life’s to short to not use a knife I like. Throw that bad boy in your pocket and create some memories with it. 😁

Lucky i have got this finished, it will give me something to do now that the Olympics are over and we have gone back into lockdown. The Olympics for once were in our timezone so would have helped fill in the day, will be touching up some cutlery. I have included many features on this that are expensive add on's with all commercial sharpeners making them very expensive. I added a small knife attachment which is handy to have for small blades, but probably did not need to, but still handy to have, but blew the budget out of the water, maybe i should be a politician:eek:, All up it cost me about $100US, if i bought an edge pro that this is based on, would have cost me $270US for the base unit, by the time all the add on's were included, well over $400US. They say the proof of the pudding is in the eating, well this thing is very good eating. Easy and comfortable to use, and i have done 2 knives so far, a lambsfoot up to 1000 grit finished on flexicut gold compound on rough leather, and it is sharp, really good working edge. But the other one i did, i only went up to 1200 grit, but on someones advise, i finished it on a soft Arkansas stone, new addition never had one before, then finished on green compound on rough leather. It have been sharpening for over 50 years, and it absolutely amazed me, the person who gave me this advise really knew what they were talking about. It is scary sharp, can shred paper using push cuts, but more useful test, can slice through a tomato with just the pressure of the knife. A knife has to be razor sharp, with still a bit of tooth to do that, i don't need a knife sharper than that, but will be interesting to see results of some of the higher grit stones i have and kangaroo leather with diamond spray.

This is the all metal guide rod bearing, makes massive difference, no up and down or side play, made a mixture of powdered graphite and light machine oil which i rub on the inside of the bearing making it whisper quite, you can hear the stone cutting, which i find very important.

These are some blade rests i have made for different knives, made one specifically for a lambsfoot blade so it fits it and does not move.

Maiden voyage, had to be a lambsfoot, really sharp, but should have good edge retention, if you don't have edge retention a work knife is useless.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was tinged with some sadness, watched the best female athlete i have seen run at her last games, she went out on a high with a Gold medal and all her usual class, she is a genuine super star who has given me much pleasure watching her compete for 18 years. :)
For our non American members, i was talking about Allyson Felix.

Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate your kind words  A lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into those knives. I lost count of the amount of trips I had to make to Sheffield. They were the culmination of a 5 year project, and we were lucky to get them when we did I think, before things went downhill at the works. I had hoped to get more made, but have had to give up that idea unfortunately :(

Enjoy them gents :) They're designed to look better with use! :D Great pic of yours Jon
Nice shooting Jack. Do you have a indoor catchbox or do you shoot in the garden when at home?
Thanks Jon, I like to shoot out in the woods, but I have a catchbox at home, and also shoot in the garden. The longest convenient place to shoot indoors is only 25ft though. I use plastic ammunition indoors, and clay ammo in the garden. Neither is as accurate as steel ammo, but good enough for plinking. That card target was part of the packaging of a (Sparrow) slingshot I bought recently, it wasn't too much of a challenge, as my regular plinking target is smaller :D ;) I always enjoy seeing your Goblet :)

Excellent post Leon, really nice work   I was just thinking about your gizmo yesterday, and it looks like you put a lot of thought into it. It's great to see it in such detail  I'm afraid the Olympics passed me by mate, but I'm glad you've enjoyed it :) Hope you're not in lockdown too long. 30,000 daily infections here, and 600 deaths last week, but we're back to 'normal' apparently

Good morning Guardians, I hope that everyone had a great weekend. I'm a bit concerned about my back, I worked it pretty hard last week, and it has that 'about to go' feeling  Hoping it's going to be OK, as I have quite a bit to do this week, not least since I'm looking after my mate's kids on Thursday  Have a good week Guardians, and enjoy carrying your Lambsfoot
