But it has been a good learning experience and have gleamed some very useful information that will be able to help others into the future if they also decide to go down this path. Just planning winter stuff using a book that was a very generous gift off Jack last summer. It's a 1949 guide to all things historic in the UK.

I didn't go out yesterday, as it was raining hard all day. Not much better today either I'd forgotten about that book, nice photo

Thanks a lot Dennis, I spoke to him on Wednesday, and he sounded almost back to normal. He's been lucky, as he's a big bloke with a range of other health problems. I'll give him a ring later

Good morning Guardians, hope everyone has made it through another week OK. I usually meat up with a pal on Fridays, but he has had to cancel on me, as he's getting his boiler serviced. Back in town from a trip to the Gettysburg Battlefield. Stayed at a nice B&B (The Brickhouse Inn) and had perfect weather. Wonderful week spent up in the Pocono mountains after Gettysburg. With great friends and great food too Had to make sure I had my HHB in the car because we had to go through security at the battlefield museum.
