This thread... For some strange reason I had a craving ;)

Went a little heavy on the cheese, but it was still darned good, even if Christina stole a piece :D

Oh of course you did, sorry, with being busy at work it just slipped my mind. I'll have to pull a finger out and slip BF some groats.

Thanks Dennis, I guess I may like western Oklahoma then. I love that tiny anvil you have there; it's a great pic.

It's been a right dull day, ut I hope everyone's enjoying their Sunday's.

Mine is due for renewal soon I think, I'll have to check. At least your avatar is still there  My day had been pretty dull, but after taking my empty pizza boxes out to the bin, it took me more than half an hour to get back in again! First a young neighbour asked me why I wasn't at the street-party yesterday, which I'd thought was NEXT Saturday, then I had to give a full account of my food-poisoning, to my elderly Sikh neighbour Mrs Kauer, as well as being introduced to her friend's daughter, and HER daughter, and decline various offers of tea. Then I had to have a discussion about fallen leaves with Mrs Kauers neighbour, Toff, who has dementia. He'd wandered out of the house, and starting to sweep leaves up, when another neighbour, in his mid 60's, had driven past, felt sorry for him, and offered to help. Toff had had him sweeping up leaves for 40 minutes, when I intervened to tell him the council would be sweeping them up tomorrow, whereupon Mrs Kauer, who I've only previously heard have the most uncharitable things to say about Muslims, dragooned the poor man into sweeping her extensive front yard. At this point, a friend of mine came out across the street, and I crossed over to ask after his mother, who has been in hospital. While we were talking, we saw Toff wander out again, and into someone else's garden. I excused myself to go and look for him, but was delayed by Mrs Kauer, who wanted to tell me about her son. I broke off to go and find Toff, but then had to return to Mrs Kauer, before I could get back up the road. However, before I could cover the 10 yards to my house, I had to admire the new scooter another neighbour has just bought, and then listen to the gossip of another neighbour. They should make a soap opera about my street! :D

Nice photo David :)

LOL! :D Barrett once showed some pizza one Sunday, and gave me a craving! :D Unfortunately, it was many hours before I could satisfy it! :D It LOOKS darned good Mike, I hope you both enjoyed it :)

Yes definitely mate, they reckon that the only reason that folks survived in the past is that they drunk beer, wine, or spirits, instead of the filthy water! Thank you, unfortunately, before the symptoms came on, I had just spent an hour cooking, and opened a half-decent bottle of wine, and I ended up not tasting either :(

LOL! :D I had never had a hangover until I was 50, I didn't realise I had a super-power until it was gone! :( I just spoke to a friend in London on the phone, and he told me that he made himself ill with some chicken the other week. He said it had been in the fridge four or five days, and it didn't smell very good, but he fried it up anyway!

Nice to see your 2018 Ebony Jer

Thanks Bill, I'm sure I'll be fine by tomorrow :) I'm not sure what brand my pal had, but I had the Oxford AstraZenaca one, the second dose of which was 5 months ago. I think they are giving out the Pfeizer vaccine as a booster here though. I'm not sure what my pal had, but he has had the virus, and apparently that can be a factor in terms of having an adverse reaction. He says he has a swollen gland in his arm-pit, which is so painful he's not been able to sleep. He's been told he should be OK in a few days. I'm glad you and your wife were OK Bill, I didn't even get a sore arm with the first 2 jabs, so I'm hoping it will be the same when I get my booster. It sounds like you're going to have a nice day there my friend, and your Hartshead Barlow looks as good as ever. It started out pretty miserable here, but it's sunny now (though cold apparently). I'm staying in though, and drinking some more tea, while enjoying this interesting, if rather dog-eared, book that my girlfriend found in the local Free Library :) Enjoy your stroll Bill, and your breakfast of course ;)

A fine lambs foot knife you have there Jack. You post it up fairly frequently. Is there a story behind it?
Keeping my HHB close this Friday morning as I fight with my ADHD and try my best to finish the mountain of paperwork I have left.

Very crisp photos of a very fine HHB.

My brother in law and his wife are here for a week or so visiting. We are having glorious weather and enjoying the heck out of everything from walks on the beach to dinner out on the town in Wilmington, NC. I've got my HHB in the ole pocket every day.

Our little experiment has been going for 14 days now. There has been significant removal of dye, as stated last week, replaced the solution after Jack's suggestion to sand one side. Will post photos for comparison, will leave it now for another 2-3 weeks to see the result, will replace the solution if i feel it needs it. Any suggestions or advise will be greatly appreciated. Hope you have all had a good weekend, and have a good and safe upcoming week.:).

Hey Kevin, how you doing mate? Did you play any part in putting William Shatner into space the other week? ;) :D Great to see your Hartshead Barlow there :)
Howdy Jack. I am doing well. We are finally getting some rain so I figured it is a good time to take care of some stuff around the house.
I pretty sure I have made zero contributions to putting Captain Kirk into space..... Now if it were Scotty , I would probably help a bit. ;)
Glad to hear that your feeling better.

Glad you feeling better again Jack.

Thank you for the kind words, that's a nice-looking wrench there with your Lambsfoot :)

It was an SFO from 2018 Bill. I commissioned it after John Maleham managed to get hold of some vintage Sambar stag in Sheffield, which had originally been cut for steak knives, if I remember correctly. I was just looking at the email I sent out, and I can't believe how inexpensive they were! :D A shame we don't see more of them here

🤣🤣🤣. My dad was in the Signal/Radio Corp in World War 2 in New Guinea.:)

My father-in-law was in the signal corps and stationed on New Guinea, too. He was at Hollandia for a long time, and then went with the force that invaded Luzon at Lingayen in January 1945. Near Lingayen is Dagupan, where he met my mother-in-law.

One of the few things he told me about that time was that for 18 months on New Guinea, they had nothing but corned beef for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (the stereotype of the US Army serving nothing but spam did not hold true for his unit, they had nothing but canned corned beef). He said that for Thanksgiving 1944 they had a real traditional meal, with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, the whole nine yards. He said that after all that corned beef that Thanksgiving meal was so good.

The US troops that went to the Philippines brought corned beef with them, and ever since then corned beef has held an important part in Filipino cuisine. If you go to a Filipino grocery store anywhere in the states, you see a large selection of corned beef from Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand.

🤯 It might be tempting, in the future, to wait until the dead of night to sneak your boxes out to the bin without being seen. 😁

It's usually quiet as a graveyard on my street! :D I don't know what was going on, it was 6pm on a Sunday evening. Perhaps they all thought I might have spare pizza! :D ;)
