Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Porch Radio!

I have a question to ask of our Minnesotan Guardians! Near the start of this movie, the Kevin Kline character says that he had a grilled cheese, and a chaser of beans. Does he mean baked beans, green beans, or some other sort of beans? I have to know ;)

While I can’t definitively say what a real Minnesotan would mean if they just said “beans” (MN was pretty blue in my dialect quiz results), my guess would be baked beans.

Mickey’s Dining Car is actually a real diner in St. Paul that’s still open*. On their menu (which does include a grilled cheese), baked beans are listed as as an optional side, so I’d say that’s probably your answer.

*Sadly their website says they’re currently closed due to Covid, but that they hope to open again soon. Before all this mess it was a 24-hours-a-day 365-days-a-year kind of place. I had thought about heading over there for some pictures with Merle, but didn’t end up making it (partly because it didn’t seem like it’d be quite the same with them being closed).

I would guess baked beans. He says he's in St Paul, which isn't awfully rural. Mary Tyler Moore's news room was in Minneapolis-St Paul, which is all I know about Minnesota.
Cheese on toast, with a side order of baked beans, sounds good to me! 😁👍
Some great photos with you HHB as the main attraction.

Today was just a beautiful day outside. I finished the conversion of my propane gas grill over to natural gas. Also, did a repair to my garden sprayer with the help of my HHB. Then I wrestled with the cable TV company - by the end of that conversation I wished I could have used my HHB to give those idiots and attitude adjustment. Oh well, going to cook a few burgers on the grill tonight and relax. Recycle phot showing the quick disconnect nipple that got attached to my gas line.

Thanks a lot Bill, it sounds as if you've been busy there buddy :) I hope those well-earned burgers tasted good :)
You were right about the beans issue, i'm staying right out of it.

If you have time, some photos of your culinary skills on the grill would be good.
🤣👍

Wow! That's amazing Barrett, hard to imagine a more definitive answer  Thanks pal :)

Thanks, Jack. I added another photo of the diner at night, and should add that those aren’t my photos, just Google image finds.
Very cool Barrett, I had no idea that was a real place

I'll have a single Californian Cheese Burger, a side of Slaw and a Fountain Root Beer Float and put it on my tab.:)

Good morning Guardians, hope you all have a good day, and I'll catch up later 👍

Thoughts go out to all past and currently serving members on Veterans, Memorial and Remembrance Day.🤝🧡

Bagpipe ebony seems a popular choice today, and an appropriate one I think

This needs to get a run, needs a good sharpening session, and we have 4-5 days of rain predicted so should be an good time to do it.
