Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Been offline for a couple of days, hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.:)
Good to have you back Leon
I've posted pics of Man Jack, this week's lambsfoot for me, from 2015 and 2016. I'll continue the trend with a photo from 2017 and from 2018:

I'm enjoying seeing your Man Jack chronology Gary :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Hoping to meet up with my pal, and his two lads sometime today. Still cold here, but brighter than it was yesterday. I thought I'd bring out The Yorkshire Rose :) Have a good Sunday everyone

Nice looking Lambsfoot knife Jack. What material are the covers? Very nice file work too.

Good morning Guardians. Nice cool Sunday morning going up to the mid-60's today. Should be sunny. Getting unpacked from the trip up north and going to continue decorating the house for Christmas. We don't go overboard with decorating but do enough to help us get into the Holiday spirit. I'm sure that I will be able to put my Ironwood to good use today.

Thanks Bill, the covers are antique ivory. It's amazing how much you use a pocket-knife most days isn't it, I don't know how anyone manages without one? Have fun with the Christmas decorations, I'll probably get round to putting up some lights in a couple of weeks ;) :D

Knocked up some blackberry crumble for lunch :)

I didn't actually mean to drop my Hartshead Barlow into the custard!

Didn't expect to get admonished for licking it off either! 🤣 🤣
My thought: did he really just do that? That had to be an accident…
Right when i first saw the pictures 😂

Thanks a lot my friend :)

It's been snowing hard here for the past half hour or so. This is the nearest I'm getting to it! :D

Hi Jack, I was going straight for the 😍 reaction for this pic however I changed it to  at the last millisecond.
You know, ❄️ and I have a complicated relationship 😅
Great pic :)

While much of the rhyming slang used in Australia, Scotland, and Ireland is old London Cockney rhyming slang, each country has developed its own enrichments, and continue to do so. An old Irish friend of mine used to say, 'German Spy' for pie, but I have never heard anyone else say that. Some claim 'Isle of Skye' is Cockney rhyming slang for pie, but I've not heard that either. 'Nellie' (or 'Nelly') has a couple of meanings here, one of which means life, as in a common old expression, 'Not on your Nelly', meaning 'not in your life' or 'definitely not' - Nelly Duff - Puff - Puff meaning a breath of life. While most rhyming slang, which uses names, relates to an actual person, albeit often rather obscured by the passing of time, nobody seems to know who Nelly Duff was. Other examples of this kind of slang are Charlie Drake - Steak, Ruby Murray - Curry, and Joe Baksy - Taxi. 'Loop-de-loop' is soup ;)

Great comparison pics of your Man Jack my friend :)

Thanks for the rhyming slang primer, Jack.:cool::thumbsup:
If I'm going to work on learning another language, maybe I should go with Spanish rather than the rhyming slang! o_O 🤓
Thanks for the Man Jack compliment.
You've been posting some excellent photos of your stag HHB lately; it must favor this time of year! 😁:cool:

Many thanks, Gary.;)👍
You're welcome, José. I'm always impressed with your lambsfoot with the translucent golden horn handles, and I think the grain in your desert ironwood Guardians lambsfoot is perhaps my favorite of that entire SFO.

Custard and admonishment are a great combination! 😁

"Sleighbells ring. Are you listening?"
Great photo of Old Toffee Wings, Jer!:thumbsup::cool:

Dazzling photo of a memorable lambsfoot, Steve!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

That does have some nice Stag on it.
Thanks, Leon. :) I'm very pleased with the pile side stag, but the mark side stag is rather anemic by comparison.

Thanks again for your encouraging words regarding Man Jack. :) This is the last day of his "week in the sun", so I'll probably post some photos taken in 2019, 2020, and 2021 (if I actually have one from this year).
I always enjoy the Yorkshire Rose in that colonnade of columns photo!:cool::thumbsup:

Ugh! :( That's about the view I awoke to this morning, although most of the couple of inches of snow that accumulated arrived during the day on Saturday. I shoveled off the back walk and driveway before 5am, but I suppose I should get back out now and tend to the front sidewalk, front stairs, and the path from back yard to front. I have a new "ergonomic" snow shovel this season that needs breaking in!

I'd say Spanish is more useful, and possibly easier to learn! :D A dozen or so years ago, I was having dinner at a remote French chateau when a young woman asked me about rhyming slang. Her grandmother had been English, and would speak to her in it when she was a little girl. She wasn't sure if it was just something her grandma had made up though, and was thrilled when I told her about it :)

Thank you my friend, you can't beat those Fall colours :)
Custard and admonishment are a great combination! 😁
I have a vague childhood memory of Mr Pastry working in a custard factory, but can't seem to have a clip! :D

I'll look forward to those Gary, and to see the Lambsfoot which will take Man Jack's place :) Thank you, I've photographed a few knives at Kirkstall Abbey

Good luck with your snow shovel Gary :)
That gorgeous knife matches the scenery well, Jack. 🤠
Thanks John, it's definitely not a day to drop it! ;)

That’s priceless! 🤣 I’ve dunked one in a mug of tea before, but never anything quite that extreme. 😁

Didn't expect to get admonished for licking it off either! 🤣 🤣

Well how else were you supposed to clean it off? 😁

Be careful not to drop your Yorkshire Rose in the snow, you might not find it until it melts! 😲😉

Somehow we’ve lucked out on snow so far, which is good, because I still have more leaves to deal with. (It’s supposed to warm up briefly for a few days this week, so I’m waiting to deal with them until then.)

New condiments 😁, familiar Lambsfoot.
