Loop-de on a cold day, doesn't get much better. No pieI left a bit early yesterday, as I needed to pay a bill, and get some shopping, so I had some loop-de-loop in a cafe to try and warm myself up. It was cold here yesterday, and even colder after a few hours in the open air

What a great shot of that very handsome Lambsfoot John
Thank you, my friend... Happy Black Friday. What a great shot of that very handsome Lambsfoot John
Thank you, sir. I did get to join my wife and both our moms for lunch and that more than anything was what I am thankful for. I would have liked to enjoy a glass of something other than water but I had to go to work....Tasty-looking pic Ted, hope you're having a great day![]()

I don't understand this whole rhyming slang thing. Does everyone use the very same slang to "replace" the same actual word (e.g., everyone uses "Nellie Bligh" for "pie")? And does everyone understand the same "contractions" (e.g., everyone recognizes that "Nellie" is short for "Nellie Bligh")? I can't think of what "loop-de-loop" represents; all that comes to mind is "chicken poop", which could be warm, but unlikely to be served intentionally in most cafés.No pieI left a bit early yesterday, as I needed to pay a bill, and get some shopping, so I had some loop-de-loop in a cafe to try and warm myself up. That's good to hear Ted, though I'm sorry you had to work. I hope things have eased a little generally thoughThank you, sir. While much of the rhyming slang used in Australia, Scotland, and Ireland is old London Cockney rhyming slang, each country has developed its own enrichments, and continue to do so. An old Irish friend of mine used to say, 'German Spy' for pie, but I have never heard anyone else say that. Some claim 'Isle of Skye' is Cockney rhyming slang for pie, but I've not heard that either. 'Nellie' (or 'Nelly') has a couple of meanings here, one of which means life, as in a common old expression, 'Not on your Nelly', meaning 'not in your life' or 'definitely not' - Nelly Duff - Puff - Puff meaning a breath of life. While most rhyming slang, which uses names, relates to an actual person, albeit often rather obscured by the passing of time, nobody seems to know who Nelly Duff was. Other examples of this kind of slang are Charlie Drake - Steak, Ruby Murray - Curry, and Joe Baksy - Taxi. 'Loop-de-loop' is soupI don't understand this whole rhyming slang thing. Great comparison pics of your Man Jack my friendMan Jack in September 2015, and then in May 2016; perhaps a little more patina in the more recent shot? (Actually, what I thought was patina in a "small preview" of the earlier shot turned out to be just a reflection of my knuckles, so there's actually significantly more patina in the more recent photo.)
