Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Now notice where the blade edge and tip are on a usual Lambsfoot... the blade edge slopes downward.
Even if it didn't have the blade canted downward, it would still be easier to get the tip into the cutting surface.

Thanks for those helpful photos John :) The GEC model is certainly a thing of beauty, and an accurate copy of a Joseph Rodgers model Charlie owns I think. The Lambsfoot blade almost always follows a different form though, as per your second photo, presenting the blade differently in use. The subtle angles, and the form of the taper, make all the difference. I also prefer the 'meatier' point, which, for me, always feels strong in use, and the ultimate work knife. The longer bladed versions, we tend to call a 'Big 'Un' here, are no less tough, and a very serious knife, still with a strong point

I've just spoken to my mate with the tool-stall, and he's full of cold, and sounds quite rough. He says that he might stand anyway  I think he'd be better staying at home, keeping it to himself, and getting better. Either way, I'll be staying away myself, though I shall miss the cake and conversation :(

I hope you get to see them soon Jon

That clip is from 2019 Jeremy, when I was photographing the Damascus SFOs. I was rather surprised to see one move of its own accord! :D How common the phenomenon is, I'm not sure ;)

Good morning Guardians, halfway through the week! ;) Hope everyone is managing OK, and that you have a good day

All that goodness.
That’s a pretty one, José. Beautiful Stag.
Good Morning Guardians
I'm going to try the Forum's picture posting software for the first time...

Thank you, Jack. :)
I want to like the Charlie Lamb as much as my usual Lambs... but it's hard.
Certainly the GEC version has the best F&F and it's probably the prettiest too.
But the blade angle is just not working that well in actual use when compared to my others.
That's why I'm forcing myself to carry it more to see if I can actually get used to it or not.
I know it's an unpopular opinion on the forum, that's why I am confining my thoughts to the Guardians.
But the blade edge seems to taper to the spine, instead of the other way around... like it should be.
Thank you, John for the education. Still, it’s quite the looker.

Good Morning Guardians. William Rodgers

Sorry your plans got cancelled, Jack. :(
Perhaps the weather will cooperate for a hike. 🤠

Thank you, Harvey. :)
The GEC Lambsfoot knives are indeed very beautiful and well-built.
That picture leaves me kinda cold, Harvey. 🥶
Yay! Stir Fry > Salad. ;)
So this is what you're up to when you're stuck at home. 😁

Thanks buddy :) Unfortunately, I have to go into town anyway to get some shopping, so a hike is out of the question I'm afraid :(

Here's a look at some stag (all SFOs apart from the square-bolstered model) ;)

A sight to behold.

Thank you, John. Me too.
My lambsfoot this week is LamBar Jack, my rosewood Hartshead Barlow. He's longing for springtime and requested that I post this photo from happier times than today's snow storm:

Time to shovel again.

Here’s to warmer times, GT. Spring is not too far off.

For a minute I wanted a GEC version, because well it’s GEC. However, I am of the opinion the lambsfoot is better coming from its homeland. I guess it feels more authentic that way. All of the other factors like f&f, availability, etc kind of don’t matter much with this in mind.
