Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks, John. In looking at this photo, I don't think mine has the same upward tilt of the edge to the handle that you mentioned a few days ago. I guess individual knives can have idiosyncrasies, just like people.

I think you may be right... it looks better. 🤠

I'm happy to hear that you slept better. 🤠

The sammich looks amazing, Jack. 🤠
Thanks John :)
Good Morning Guardians.
Still in sticker shock after meeting with our remodel designer yesterday.
Going to have to rethink our wish list and see where we are at then... COVID pricing is horrible.
Yikes! It is the same here mate, the price of EVERYTHING has gone through the roof o_O Back with your favourite I see :D ;)

I think you're right there Jeff, that's very interesting  Here are mine, which are more like yours than John's (and others we have seen). Curious. We need a straw poll of Waynorth Lambsfoot owners :)

Yes. Yes it is. Fantastic picture, Harvey!
Thank you, Greg. Great to see you here.Best
Good morning Guardians, I definitely slept a little better last night :) Going to try and work on using my CPAP again now
Best wishes with the CPAP/pillow combo, Jack.
Beer and sausages round at Grumble Towers today! ;)
Proper inner fortification.

I can imagine. Inflation, inflation. Everywhere. Sorry.

Good Morning Guardians.

Jack, I put a straight-edge on my open knife and with the tip of the blade and the butt of the handle resting on the flat, there is about a sixteenth of an inch clearance under the kick, so it definitely has a little downward tilt. It seems just about right to me.

Thanks a lot Harvey :)

Good Morning Guardians.
I love that blade etch Harvey, great pic  :)
Very handsome :)
Looks like a great delivery to me!! That bread looks really tasty!!! Your HHB is looking great I love how the bolsters have aged!
Thanks Taylor! :D The bread is Leeds Bread Co-op's Malted Sourdough :) Thanks again my friend, the bolsters have aged just how I hoped they would :)

Thanks for the info Jeff, here's mine

Looks very straight, Jack. I also note in your photo that yours is slightly under-bladed, with a little backspring above the spine in the open position. Imagine the blade coming up just that little bit to meet the backspring squarely, and the blade would be at a slightly upward angle to the frame. That might be what is going on with John's Waynorth. Maybe he can see if his is under-bladed or meets the backspring more fully.

Back with your favourite I see
Yes... It couldn't stay away long. ;)
Beautiful set of Charlie Lambs. 🤠
Love to see a picture of them resting on tip of blade and but end of knife, like Jeff described.
Edit: Ah, i see you did that already.

Sounds like a good one. 🤠

I was trying to think what everything might be called on your side of The Pond Greg...But I hadn't had my coffee! :D I used a moka pot, exclusively, for years. Part of the reason for the break, is that I couldn't get a trivet that would fit my stove, but I recently got a new stove, so it might be time to get it out, and give it a scrub! :D

I actually only recently learned the term "moka pot". I found out they were often called that when I started Googling for "stovetop espresso maker". :D

I ran into the same issue with our stove. My moka pot is a 3 cup model (those are espresso cups, for the uninitiated, it ends up making about 4.5 fluid ounces of strong coffee to which I add some hot water to approximate an Americano) and the flame pattern on our burners was too wide. I improvised at first with a small cast iron pan, but now have a laminated stainless steel/aluminum flame diffuser that does a much better job of heat transfer.

As I was taking this photograph, I realized that I really must be a traditional knife knut. Even my coffee maker has a Mark Side! :D

Beer and sausages round at Grumble Towers today! ;) Beer delivery from the nice folks at Saltaire Brewery, sausage sandwich for lunch :)

Oh how I wish you weren't such a far walk—and swim!—away, Jack. Otherwise I might just be scheming about how I could invite myself over to help you manage those beers and sausages. Enjoy, my friend!

Good post, Greg, coffee is something we don't scrimp on around here! My wife and I each do our own; she likes Kona coffee, uses a burr grinder, a Ninja coffee maker, and only drinks decaf after dinner.

Excellent. Glad to hear that everyone is kept happy. :D

My wife doesn't drink coffee, but, fortunately, she tolerates my habit of acquiring coffee making apparatuses. At least as long as they don't clutter the countertops too much...

Thank you, Greg. Great to see you here.Best

Thanks, Harvey. It's good to be back around. :)

Oh! You got a good one. Congrats!

Yes indeed Jeff, though it's interesting to note that Sheffield knives were traditionally produced under-bladed, to avoid the blade subsequently rising up (over-blading). I remember JDWARE JDWARE sent me on a mission to get the details of this from Stan Shaw

Yes, I don't know why I haven't thought of doing it before :D

That IS different isn't it John, though I think it is far from unique in that run. From what I recall that is closer to Charlie's Joseph's Rodger's Lambsfoot than mine or Jeff's
Time for a sammich...
Wow! Great pic! That looks delicious John :)

Me too, we just call them an 'espresso maker' here, though I guess that is a rather inexact description these days :D

That's a pretty cool gadget Greg  I have had a few. My current one was a gift from an Italian friend, who I spent a lot of time with in Barcelona. They are a lot cheaper there than here :) Cool pic Greg
