Today in 2014 we rescued her from a shelter here in Austin. She has been one of the best dogs. We are celebrating her birthday by taking her for a swim this weekend. Everyone assumes she is a puppy. Wife calls her “Perma-Puppy”

My wife is off all week too, so we have some plans.
Going to antique stores, movies, and shopping around for cabins.
We'd like to find a cabin by a lake or river that we can escape to on weekends and spend weeks at during the Summers.

Wow, Guardians! The posts to this thread have been coming in at an astounding clip lately. Way too much for me to catch up and reply to all the things that I found interesting, but still wanted to check in and say:

@Pàdruig thank you for the fantastic giveaway. I enjoyed the drawing post and also all of the thoughts and stories about Jack that your GAW inspired people to post. @mcc850 congrats on winning! Looking forward to seeing you post pictures here when you put it to use.

I really enjoyed the discussion of other blades and frames that have been paired with a lambsfoot. I must have seen that lambsfoot/clip barlow before, but I don't remember it and it sure is intriguing! I'd actually love a full-size lambsfoot and small clip secondary combo so that I've always have my go-to utility blade and my go-to whittling blade. But, really, I'm still waiting for someone to produce my grail, the Lamb Punch Lifter.

JohnDF I hope you have a fantastic spring break and that you're able to get some fishing in and whatever else you find relaxing and rejuvenating!

Jack Black looks like you've been up to some good adventures lately. I hope they continue!

Thanks a lot Greg Hoping I have a few more adventures left in me! When rockman0 Rob sent his unusual TEW Lamb over a few years back, I certainly had an adventure trying to get some pics of it opposite the old TEW factory - sneaking into a private car park, and scrambling up a steep bank!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend Down in the low 40's here, with a cold wind, but the sun was out, so it was actually a pretty nice day I had a 6 mile walk along the Leeds-Liverpool canal, stopping at a couple of coffee shops, and finishing with a couple of pints, and a good burger and fries in a great river-side pub I'm beat now!

It had been 5 years since I last walked along this section of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, and I noticed the changes quite a bit. The sprawl of £500,000+ apartments, now line the canal for around 2 miles on either side of the city centre, and continue to expand at a ferocious rate, eating up, and transforming, the skyline. The rough track is now tarmacked throughout to accommodate the local joggers and cyclists, and it's no longer the quiet walk that it once was, where you could walk for half a mile without seeing another soul. Every old bridge is still covered in graffitti, and litter has increased, though the nature of that litter has changed. It has never been the most attractive section of the canal, but it's a useful artery in and out of the city, with a great pub at the end of it

Not everyone gets to live in a swanky apartment...
