Thank you, Harvey.Great Patina.
I think I missed the Bex memo.
Thank you John.I think I missed the Bex memo.
I do like the tipped bolster on your Lambsfoot.![]()
Thanks Dwight, they call the covers Bexoid in Sheffield, which is what they originally used. Now it's a similar-looking plastic, of some type, I think. The older ones have a brown tinge, and a slightly softer feel. Contemporary ones, are black, with a harder feel, and more likely to break I think. They are the least expensive of the Sheffield Lambsfoot knives, and so a lot of older, used, models are still kicking around. I have another one, smaller, and more worn, sitting in front of my keyboard, that I picked up the other week. A beautiful photo my friend, and those covers are a big step-up from the humble Bex!
I've said it before, but it bears repeating... those handles are gorgeous.
Thank you Jack. Is the Bexoid as soft as Gumfuddy or is it more of a hard plastic? Thanks Dwight, they call the covers Bexoid in Sheffield, which is what they originally used. Thank kind sir.I've said it before, but it bears repeating... those handles are gorgeous.
I don't actually have any knives in Gumfuddy Dwight, but from what folks have said, it has a bit of 'give'. The Bexoid isn't soft, but it isn't brittle eitherThank you Jack. Is the Bexoid as soft as Gumfuddy or is it more of a hard plastic?
Thank kind sir.![]()
Indeed, it's been a little silly.
Cheers my friendIndeed, it's been a little silly.

Beautiful Lambsfoot. Jack's generosity strikes again. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine.

To me it feels like charcoal or pummice.I don't actually have any knives in Gumfuddy Dwight, but from what folks have said, it has a bit of 'give'. The Bexoid isn't soft, but it isn't brittle either![]()
Great generosity, kinship and spirit, and the knife ain't half bad either. Seriously, very kind gesture by the Skipper, and that is one handsome Lambsfoot, beautiful Rosewood covers, they will only improve with carry, Rosewood ages so well, better than a lot of the other woods used as covers.I posted this knife in the "Your newest traditional" thread, but it belongs here too.
This wonderful swayback lambsfoot SFO made by A. Wright & Son made it to me from the U.K. just the other day. It was a gift from the ever generousJack Black . Beautiful rosewood(?) covers, and the best fit and finish I've ever seen on a Sheffield knife that I have personally handled. Superb! I am absolutely honored to be adding this knife to my collection. Thank you Jack!
