Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

My haul from Aldi's this morning. Do love British confectionary, and one of my favs has to be the Taveners Jelly Babies. :p :p :p

I posted this knife in the "Your newest traditional" thread, but it belongs here too. :)

This wonderful swayback lambsfoot SFO made by A. Wright & Son made it to me from the U.K. just the other day. It was a gift from the ever generous Jack Black Jack Black . Beautiful rosewood(?) covers, and the best fit and finish I've ever seen on a Sheffield knife that I have personally handled. Superb! I am absolutely honored to be adding this knife to my collection. Thank you Jack!

A great one to start. A kind gesture from Jack Black Jack Black Welcome.

Yes it is almost completely jet black. It only becomes a little iridescent in full sun. 👍
Cool

It was nice to be able to send you something my friend, and I hope you enjoy using it :) I'm glad it's a good one, I picked it up, from the factory, a few years ago. Those are great pics
To me it feels like charcoal or pummice.
Good description Jer  I worked my Big Bex pretty hard yesterday
Great generosity, kinship and spirit, and the knife ain't half bad either. Seriously, very kind gesture by the Skipper, and that is one handsome Lambsfoot, beautiful Rosewood covers, they will only improve with carry, Rosewood ages so well, better than a lot of the other woods used as covers. 👌 :)

Thank you Harvey

Good morning Guardians, I hope your week is going well. Yesterday was quite a nice day here, but it's raining again now. Hope it clears up, and that summer starts soon  I've got some work to do in the house this morning anyway ;) Hope everyone has a good day :) I've been instructed to pocket my Hartshead Barlow again today :D ;)

We do get good stuff here i can't deny that. I got a nice 100% Fine Merino woollen jumper today for 15 quid. A really nice Spring, Autumn jumper, but back to more important things, they get British goodies in twice a year. So twice a year i delight in getting some lovely British confectionary.:p:p:p

Beautiful Leon, you'd pay £100 for that here, or more. I'm sure the wait makes that confectionary taste all the better my friend :)

Closest i have got to a Yorkie.🤭.
I'll have to send you a couple over sometime mate, stop you eating your cap! :D ;) I can't remember the last time I actually ate a Yorkie myself though! :D Bit peckish this morning, so I thought I'd have some cheese on toast ;)

A very good dram Jack. I visited the Talisker distillery a few years back during a visit to Scotland. I enjoy this scotch very much. Hope you have a nice day. Your HHB has inspired me to carry mine.

Good morning Guardians. Hope everyone is having a good "hump" day.

Fantastic Bill, I have been to Skye, but not to the distillery. It's always been one of my go-to malts, though I preferred it when they just sold it by age, rather than by named blend. Have a great day with your Hartshead Barlow :)

When your Lambsfoot starts demanding pocket time, you better listen. ;)
MD 20/20, the drink of high society... It should come with a disclaimer, "Your vision will never be 20/20 again after drinking this swill" 🤣
LOL! :D Yeah, I have never tasted it fortunately, I was in my 30's before it appeared here. Ugh! 😝 A drink that is popular in Scotland and Ireland is Buckfast, made by monks, drunk by skunks! I'm glad never to have drank that either, it seems to send people a bit crazy

We used to call it Mad Dog 20-20.

Yeah, I've heard it called that here Jer. 'I Survived 2020' was a bit of trending phrase here a couple of years back, with folks my kids' age. The first time I ever saw it was actually in a pub, around the time it launched over here, in the early 1990's. It was a bit of a rough-looking dive, and I can't remember why I went in, but when I saw the shelves of 20-20 behind the bar, I decided to go elsewhere for a pint! :D I do remember 'Thunderbird', but I never drank much of it :D

Taking care of my wife today as she’s recovering from thumb surgery to repair a detached ligament with a bone fragment still attached. Pins and weeks of recovery, but she should be fully healed when all is said and done.
I hope your wife heals quickly Joshua, that sounds unpleasant. I broke a tendon in one of my fingers some years back, and, since I live alone, it was a frustrating time. It's great to see your AC my friend :)

Just back from a walk on the beach with the family.
Brought along my faithful companion and inspiration to become active in the Porch trough the the Guardians 😊
It was 3 years ago that I brought it along to PEI and started sharing its pics.
Sadly its spring is broken now but it remains just as special 😊

Great to see you here Dan, and with some great pics, as always, my friend :) That's such a shame about the spring on your knife, have you thought about getting it repaired?
