Really? What a brilliant name! Stingo is an old Yorkshire word for a strong beer, a pretty funny one I think, it sounds quite modern, but goes back several centuries When I went for a pint after my visit to Kirkstall Abbey recently, I noticed that Kirkstall Brewery are doing an 8.4% stingo now. I'm going to have to give it a try

When I was in the market yesterday, I met a retired roofer who had painted up a bunch of old roofing slates, and was selling them as a fundraiser for Ukrainian aid charities. He asked for a fiver (£5), so I gave him a tenner, thought it was a nice idea
