Yes, just something to keep me going Bill, I have been quite enjoying those mini pork piesLooks to be a balanced meal. Maybe lunch?
I guess you could use the rain Bill, in which case it's a mixed blessing? Hope you have a great day anywayGood morning Guardians. Looks to be a rainy day today - there's doubt that I'll get my round of golf in today. If not then I'll tackle some indoor chores with my HHB at the ready.

Sounds like fun Jack, hope it all works out.Like many large cities, many of the folks in the surrounding towns and villages around Leeds, even in other cities like Sheffield, actively dislike the place. I remember soon after I moved here, a Sheffield friend asked me if people in Leeds hated Sheffield, the way Sheffielders hate Leeds. I told him that they didn't even think about Sheffield
Another thing about big cities is that their inhabitants often have very little reason to go to the smaller towns close by. I'm always interested to visit them, but that's quite unusual. Five miles away there's a place called Morley, where I've never been. Every time I've mentioned it, Leeds folks say something along the lines of, "Well, why would you?" Or worse. There does seem to be some historic enmity towards the 'Morley wallers', if only because they seem to think of themselves as a self-contained town, rather than a mere suburb.
The fact is though, that Morley IS a town! And quite a big oneA few weeks back, I was looking at what had happened to a couple of old friends I had lost touch with, and saw that they had opened a bar in Morley. Looking at photos online, it actually looked like quite an interesting place, and larger than I had realised, I couldn't believe that I hadn't been there before.
By chance, another couple of friends live there, and I thought they might like to show me around for a day. I texted my mate, but he just thought I wanted to go to the bar, and despite being enthusiastic about that, couldn't see past it. We made arrangements for me to visit, but then there was a week of rail strikes, so we put it off until tomorrow. I'm going to try to get out there in the morning, and have a look around, even if I have to do it without a guide. There's a market there, and at least one antique centre, and lots of lunch options. Hopefully, I can get an adventure out of it![]()

Good luck on your Jacket Attack... Don't get sick this time.
Nutting funny about your awesome Lambsfoot.
I will have to pick that one up then.I wondered how well he was known DwightThe book is a great read, Burnham had an incredible life, absolutely packed with heroism and adventure, and while he was certainly a contradictory character, it is strange that he does not seem to be better known today
Thank you Harvey.A quite handsome view of your SFO, Dwight.
Looking forward to seeing Morley.Five miles away there's a place called Morley,

I'm amazed that he is not better known today, as he certainly was during his lifetime, but to some extent that is understandable I thinkI will have to pick that one up then.

Please be careful, Jack. Doesn’t seem worth it. Do have fun in Morley. Enjoyed hearing of the rivalries from an insider. Good that you don’t follow the crowd. Keep on eating and exploring,I have a bunch of work I need to do today, in and around the house, as well as launching another chemical attack on my smelly Barbour jacket - going to try diluted peroxide and vinegar this time, and if that doesn't work, I'm giving it back!![]()
