I love those Green Eggs Greg. Went down to the place that sells em and tried to trade my truck in as a down payment but they weren't interested.Happy 4th of July, Guardians! Have a wonderful day and be safe out there!
That’s just so nice, Dwight.I hope all of you have a great day tomorrow. Be safe. And thankful.View attachment 1861440
Simply Brilliant!Minerva smiled on those Yorkshire cutlers
Hephaestus’ sons now doubl’d divine light
“Let’s take a Sheepsfoot and make it subtler”
Swayback wood handle and blade shining bright!
This Sheffield knife with tapered straight blade
An English delight unknown to the world
Knee deep in the forums one man did wade
Jack Black the Guardians pennant unfurl’d!
Now Wright’s still in business, flickering torch
And GEC’s made a few lambsfoot knives
A pattern known worldwide via The Porch
We dream that Case’ll make one during our lives
So raise a glass of Stingo from Sam Smith
Celebrate! Lambsfoots are real, not a myth!

Grilling t-bone steaks today instead of the usual hamburgers and hot dogs.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Evolution of man... wait... or is it...? Yeah.... it is.Grilling t-bone steaks today instead of the usual hamburgers and hot dogs.
Maybe not in the spirit of the Guardians thread, any sort of purchasing conversation is not encouraged. I'd PM you but cannot till i renew my membership. Have a good Independence Day.![]()

Good to see your horn lambsfoot and rosewood HHB, FBC! As always, Jake is a paragon of dependability. (I wish I could whittle a wooden ball as spherical as an avocado pit.)...

There was an episode of "The Bob Newhart Show" in olden times in which orthodontist Jerry decided to retire after coming into a lot of money in an unexpected real estate deal. There was a debate in the show over whether his soon-to-be-idle-hands would be the devil's workshop, or the devil's playground. (The episode also involved Jerry taking up whittling, which is also relevant here on The Porch.)“An idle hand is the Devil’s workshop.” No concern of yours, Jack. That’s a good thing. Here’s to you enjoying your busy week.
...
Impressive, Vince! My Toyota Corolla's odometer stopped at 299,999, but I know I drove it to maybe 340,000 miles!
Good morning Guardians, 3,000 pages and 60,000 posts!Congratulations everyone, and thanks to all those who have posted here over the years, and helped to make this thread the best thread on Bladeforums

I'll be going to the airport later today to pick up Mom for a two week visit. (she hasn't been down here since the before-times) I don't expect to keep up with this thread or other BF Porch postings while she's here. 88 years old and doesn't appreciate us "young folk" always staring at our phones & tablets!![]()
Definitely a noteworthy occasion for Jack (and the rest of the Guardians), and some fine lambsfoots were posted to celebrate....
Congratulations on your milestone, Jack. It’s because, in large part, your many fine qualities. Consistency, patience, expertise, kindness, and sense of humor are some of the first that come to mind. I would be remiss to not say that the other Guardians and friends of the Guardians are equally a part of this rich stew. It is is my good fortune to humbly be a small part of the epic Guardians of The Lambfoot. Here’s to the next 3000.

OTW is AOK!!Horn's nice, too.

John, do you think if I applied your "treatment" to myself it would be as effective as it was on your African Rosewood Lambsfoot? I think I've got a lot of grit built up in my action lately, and I'd like to do something that would make me good for another couple of months. I think I can give myself a good flushing and a little bath, but I'm not sure I can freshen up my edge!
As always, you post wonderful lambsfoot examples, José!
Thanks Gary, it's good to see you hereI finally caught up with this thread, at least in terms of reading all the posts!I was beginning to despair that I'd ever catch up, since there were many days in which the Guardians generated many more new posts than the number of old posts I read that day.
I apparently have not posted in the thread since May 28, and I was shocked to find that I have a list of quotes from May 11-17 that is still active. I used to regularly lose a bunch of multiquotes if I didn't "process" them within a day or two, but the quotes below have survived many laptop incidents (including installing a new operating system last week) that I certainly thought would have erased my multiquotes. So I feel obligated to "do them the honor" of addressing them for their long life (at least some of them - others seemed rather "time-sensitive" and I just deleted them).
An entertaining and informative saga, Jack!

Is mineral oil your usual treatment for wood covers on pocketknives?
Your stag HHB continues to be very photogenic, Bill!
(Also rather chameleon-like in the way it can appear quite different in different backgrounds.)

Our 2005 Honda Civic recently passed 100K miles, but since I rarely drive it, I missed that milestone.
Speaking of impressive milestones, I basically missed this one for the Guardians thread:
Definitely a noteworthy occasion for Jack (and the rest of the Guardians), and some fine lambsfoots were posted to celebrate.
Rachel, I hope your mother's visit was enjoyable for both of you. My wife and I recently returned from a visit to our daughter, her boyfriend, and her dog, and I hope she enjoyed our time there as much as we did.
