Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning Guardians, it's been raining here, and is still pretty miserable, which doesn't bode well for the 'car boot', but hopefully my pal can pick up some much-needed stock. Hoping to catch up here when I get back. Have a good day everyone, middle of the week already! :)

Nice shot of your HHB Jack. 😎👍

I received a package from Jeremy sbh06 sbh06 yesterday, a new slip with my initials, and a stag Lambsfoot. Really appreciate your generosity Jeremy, I really like them, thank you. 😊👍469F662C-73E7-4538-9809-E0D0117B6F5D.jpeg

Was there a dedicated thread Jer? At one time, it was possible to look at another member's profile, and quickly see the threads they had posted, which I thought was a really useful function. It doesn't seem to be like that anymore though :(
On a member's page, there's a "Find" option. Click that for the drop down menu: "find all content by___" or "find all threads by___"

Looking back and second-guessing myself, maybe it was just an extensive post in this thread. How did that go:
The pen blade totally covered the main nick, so I ground away as much as I could of the pen blade. The main nick was still somewhat covered, so I did the EO notch I should have done in the first place. The pen blade was useless anyway, because I couldn't open it without a screwdriver, so I did the delete which would also have been a good first move.

I put that blade and spring in a place safe enough that I can't find them now.
Ah right, that's more like what I remember myself Jer. It's that long ago now, it might even be indexed. Thanks for your recollections
Nice photo of your HHB Jack. But who is "Tool Man"? Just curious.:)

I'll be carrying my HHB too. Happy "hump day" Guardians. Hope everyone are doing well. Can't seem to post a photo right now.
Tool Man is my mate with the tool stall market :D I forget who it was used that name here the other week, but I often refer to him as that when mentioning him to people who don't know him :D Hope you have a good day Bill :)

The car boot sale was pretty mediocre. My mate got 3 large Stilson wrenches for £15, and I got a blackcurrant and apple crumble! :D I reckon I won 🤣 ;)

Your mate is the gentleman whose wedding you attended? Gave him one of your fine Lambfoot knives as I recall.

Thank you my friend, that a great pic of your 2019 Guardians Lambsfoot  :)

In the last 2 1/2 hours or so, I took my trusty file, sand paper, wood blocks, WD-40, etc and voila! 🤣😅

Hard to see the subtle difference but makes a huge difference once you can get the nail coming into the nick at an angle (other than 90 degrees!)

And, of course, can't forget the hand filed and sanded swedges on both the main and the pen (both sides of the blades is a must!!

I like all the mods, they turned out well and will hopefully make your Lambsfoot more useable for you. 🤠
Tasty image, John.

I'd say you won for sure... but I really don't need any more wrenches. 😁
Beautiful photo, Harvey... I love the grain on your Lambsfoot. 🤠

Nicely done ! I worked on my new LF last night and added some swedges as well. I also worked on the action and lightenned the pull from a 7+ to a pinchable 6 by rounding and polishing the part of the tang that first contacts the backspring when opening.

From my old friend Dean51

"On your knife you want to concentrate your polishing on that portion of the tang, that rubs the spring first when you start to open the blade.

The first half of the radius will smooth out that initial movement ½ way to the half stop position.
The second half of the radius will smooth out the rest of the movement to the half stop.
It can also soften the closing snap, you may or may not want to do that.

Concentrate most of your polishing on the first half of the radius. That will give you time to get a two finger grip to open the rest of the way.

Again go slowly, remember you can take metal off but you can't put metal back on."
