Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good evening Guardians. I have not been posting on the forum since last Saturday because I had a heart attack. Very scary and crushing pain. Ended up getting a stent. There won't be much knife play for this old bird because of the high doses of two different anti-coagulants and the treat of bleeding. Tried shaving my self today and the bathroom looked like a crime scene there was so much blood. I'll be laying low for the next couple of days/weeks. I thank God for the skilled surgeon who worked on me. I'll be posting some recycled photos for awhile and hopefully keep up with the posts.

Blimey Bill! Thank heavens you are OK. I have been worried about you a bit, but more more concerned about your wife, as she had Covid (I hope she's fully recovered). I'm glad you were able to get some timely medical treatment. I'm sure it has come as a real shock Bill, and I sure hope you make a full recovery, and are able to get back to the things you enjoy. You take it easy though, I'm sure all your fellow Guardians are thinking of you, and wishing you well

Good day, Guardian’s. Taking a momentary reprieve from the Tuesday doldrums. Been a barn burner thus far. Scoping the lamby put a smile on my face and a boost to push thru. Another 30 minutes :) Hope all are well. Best,

Hope you week gets easier Greg, nearly halfway there ;) Good to see that great-looking knife :)
Guardianship.

Big day here. Wife and I made an offer on a home and it was accepted! it will be our first. Hope it all works out.

Congratulations Pete, that's a big milestone :) I hope everything goes to plan, and that you're as happy as can be in your new home :)
The forced by circumstances to take it easy, will hopefully return you to proper fit, Jack.
Thank you very much my friend, though I think that might require a time-machine these days! :D ;)
I think you definitely got the best of the bunch Dwight :) Great pic

Good morning Guardians, quite a mixture of news here today. I think our friend cudgee cudgee might be busy moving house at the moment, so I hope that is going OK (been thinking of you Leon). With my back still sore, I am struggling with the housework at the moment, and since I mainly work on my backside, sitting typing, that's none too comfortable either  Think I'm going to carry my Big Rose today ;) Have a good one Guardians

Thanks mate, it's a job that i hate with a passion, but i would rather be moving than have a bad back. I have been laid up for months at a time with my back. So i feel for you, and hoping it improves quickly. 🤝🥰🥰🥰
I'm not surprised Leon, I hope I never have to make another move. I was going to move house about a decade ago, my back was bad at the time, and I chickened out in the end  Thanks mate, I'm sorry to hear you're another sufferer :( I'm hoping it's going to be Ok in a day or two, but I'm not even sure how I hurt it this time  I hope everything is going well there pal :)

Thanks mate, I'm sorry to hear you're another sufferer
I was in real trouble about 12 years ago, from a then 30 year old work injury, they were going to operate but said it would probably not be a good outcome long term. Going to the gym everyday and swimming and walking have been my godsend. I try to walk 6-10 miles a day, rather do that than be crippled on a walking frame in constant pain, that's what i was looking at. So i feel for you with back pain.

Thanks a lot mate, and good for you :) Bad backs are terrible things :( My own lower back injury goes back over 45 years, and inevitably got worse over the years. I have problems with my middle back (spondylosis), and neck too, but they are nothing compared to sciatica, and the other lower back problems. Unfortunately, back pain seems to be endemic, and I'm sure many of our friends here are fellow sufferers :(

I'm not sure I'll be able to get them on at the moment, (took me 20 minutes to get my socks on yesterday), but I have some Redbacks arriving today :)

Yorkshire Day Chip Butty Challenge!

I'm sure that nobody here has forgotten that Yorkshire Day is fast approaching ;) When, on August 1st, throughout the world, the folks and friends of Yorkshire celebrate God's Own County :D Yorkshire Day falls on a Monday this year, so inevitably, and rather unfortunately in my opinion, some of the celebrations have been moved to the last weekend of July. I'm not sure what I'm going to do myself yet, but bad back permitting, I can hopefully find some fun - and beer! :)

I've been doing a Yorkshire Day giveaway for quite a few years now, and last year's chip butty challenge seemed to be a lot of fun, so why not try it again? First, the prize, this Rosewood Lambsfoot is my 'Last of the Mohicans', picked up in Sheffield, when John Maleham was still gaffer at Wright's. I won't be buying anymore knives from the firm. If you win, you'll get the knife, and a package of Yorkshire goodies.

The challenge is to assemble a chip butty, (or if you prefer, make Yorkshire pudding). You can make the chips yourself, or buy them, or you can have a chip butty made up for you at your eaterie of choice. If you want some ideas, and want to see how much fun it was, check out last year's posts, starting here . You can have your chip butty anytime from Saturday morning to Monday night, but please post a photo on Yorkshire Day - Monday August 1st - with a Lambsfoot in the photo. Your photo is your entry (exceptional posts get an extra ticket in the hat).

If you don't want the prize, you may nominate another Guardian who enters the giveaway, but you still have to post a photo, as well as them. Please don't sell or trade the knife.

Good luck everyone

Onebigbill Onebigbill - Bill, if you want to enter, there's no need to eat a chip butty!

Back pain is awful Jack. Hope you’re feeling better soon. 🙏

Photos please.
Been waiting in for my delivery, windows at the front of the house are wide open, and I have a doorbell which could wake the dead, but the post office have left a card saying I wasn't in! Lazy sod probably didn't want to carry the parcel from the van (wish I had £1 for every time it's happened), so I'll have to go to the depot tomorrow, and carry it back myself
