I'm glad I'm not alone.Who doesn’t love a hearty breakfast of leftovers.
That's another beautiful photo, Harvey... great colors.
Better than cake, as far as I'm concerned.
Any tips you want to add, Jack?
Definitely!Better than cake, as far as I'm concerned.![]()
I'd say, deep-fry your chips if you can, but don't worry too much, just so long as they're hot. I think he overemphasises the butter, it's a factor, but not such a huge one as he makes out. I'd also say, keep it simple. Use white bread, not wholemeal. You can add ketchup, or vinegar, Henderson's, or any number of sauces, but try it just with salt for the first time. After that, you can experiment!Any tips you want to add, Jack?
Looking good there KenMy new favorite Lambsfoot carry...

Thankyou my friend!Yorkshire Day Chip Butty Challenge!
I'm sure that nobody here has forgotten that Yorkshire Day is fast approachingWhen, on August 1st, throughout the world, the folks and friends of Yorkshire celebrate God's Own County
Yorkshire Day falls on a Monday this year, so inevitably, and rather unfortunately in my opinion, some of the celebrations have been moved to the last weekend of July. I'm not sure what I'm going to do myself yet, but bad back permitting, I can hopefully find some fun - and beer!

I've been doing a Yorkshire Day giveaway for quite a few years now, and last year's chip butty challenge seemed to be a lot of fun, so why not try it again? First, the prize, this Rosewood Lambsfoot is my 'Last of the Mohicans', picked up in Sheffield, when John Maleham was still gaffer at Wright's. I won't be buying anymore knives from the firm. If you win, you'll get the knife, and a package of Yorkshire goodies.

The challenge is to assemble a chip butty, (or if you prefer, make Yorkshire pudding). You can make the chips yourself, or buy them, or you can have a chip butty made up for you at your eaterie of choice. If you want some ideas, and want to see how much fun it was, check out last year's posts, starting here . You can have your chip butty anytime from Saturday morning to Monday night, but please post a photo on Yorkshire Day - Monday August 1st - with a Lambsfoot in the photo. Your photo is your entry (exceptional posts get an extra ticket in the hat).

If you don't want the prize, you may nominate another Guardian who enters the giveaway, but you still have to post a photo, as well as them. Please don't sell or trade the knife.
Good luck everyone

Onebigbill - Bill, if you want to enter, there's no need to eat a chip butty!

It was a scare for me Jack but I am blessed to have a great surgical team. Just tired for the moment and not sleeping well but I am confident that I will be 100% soon.Blimey Bill!Thank heavens you are OK. I have been worried about you a bit, but more more concerned about your wife, as she had Covid (I hope she's fully recovered). I'm glad you were able to get some timely medical treatment. I'm sure it has come as a real shock Bill, and I sure hope you make a full recovery, and are able to get back to the things you enjoy. You take it easy though, I'm sure all your fellow Guardians are thinking of you, and wishing you well

It must have been Bill! I'm glad you're getting great care, and hope you're feeling better in a few daysIt was a scare for me Jack but I am blessed to have a great surgical team. Just tired for the moment and not sleeping well but I am confident that I will be 100% soon.
I came in in the middle of Ladykillers on TV, and it was a while before I realized I was watching Guiness, Guiness was that good.I'm not sure whether or not I'll be going to the market tomorrow, going to have to see how my back is in the morning. If I do go, I probably won't stay down there all day. My mate, Tool Man, gave me this bottle of Porter last week, so I thought I'd give it a try tonight, and I think I'm going to watch an old movie while I drink it![]()

Gah! I'm too dizzy to finish watching and too queasy to make a chip butty, now!
