Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Sounds like a great extended weekend, Jack. Enjoy the festivities  🍻
Thanks Pete, yeah, there's a big free music festival in the park, lots of Caribbean food, they close the roads, and people party in the street until late. Then, a surprisingly large amount of people, together with several mobile sound systems start Monday with a parade at around 6.00am (before the main parade in the afternoon)! :D Obviously, the weather makes a big difference, but the forecast is good this year. I won't be able to see much of it this year, but I'm happy the young folk are having a nice time

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is doing OK, and that you have something nice planned for the weekend. It's a 3-day weekend here, and a big one in my neighbourhood, as the annual West Indian Carnival, the oldest in Europe, takes place (it's always been called Chapeltown Carnival, but has now been co-opted as Leeds Carnival). Of course, it's mainly for the younger folks, and I certainly won't be doing any dancing, but I'm hoping I can hobble down the road to see the parade on Monday, and take a few pics :D Going to have a lazy Saturday morning, with my Hartshead Barlow, I think ;) Have a great weekend Guardians
Can’t wait for you share whatever pics you can. Take it easy or any way you can.😎 Cheers.
Just had a Second Breakfast Sausage Sandwich :) I usually cut the sausages in half length-wise, a plan I will stick to in future. This time, I added an extra sausage, which subsequently ended up, covered in ketchup, sitting in my lap! 🧐

Even on your lap, I’ll bet it still tasted good.😀
Good Morning Guardians
I just found out that by 2035, 100% of every new car sold in California will have to be a plug-in hybrid with a 50+ mile rage, a full electric, or hydrogen powered... no more gas powered vehicles. At least 17 other states will be following close behind. I'm not making any political judgements, but it'll be interesting to see what other changes need to happen for this to be effective. Will we see gas stations being converted to charging stations? In a state where energy demands often exceeds supply, this should be fun. Maybe when I retire I'll go back to riding a horse.🤣

A ton of innovation is heading toward us, but a horse is always a good idea. Fine image.
Love this one.
So do I Todd.

Thanks John, the main focus is the local park, which will probably be a bit far for me, but the parade passes a little nearer than that, so I'm hoping I can make it down. I enjoyed the last one (in 2019), but it's a bit of a mixed blessing to some extent, we get thousands of people coming into the area, and they're not always well-behaved

I think most folks do the same John, if I get a sausage sandwich in a cafe, and the sausages have been cut in half, I feel cheated! :D I usually fry them, cut them in half, and then return them to the pan ;)

You could join an Amish community John! ;) Here energy prices are increasing by 80%, and gas is currently over $18 a gallon! Your Loyal Lamb is looking well lived-in my friend :)

Thanks Todd, I've just had a cup of tea out in the garden, and ended up chatting to a few neighbours :)

Great pic buddy :)
Thanks Jack. 😊

As long as your horse doesn’t fart methane gas you should be good to go John!
You laugh, but I've thought about people complaining about that. 🤣
Beautiful Ebony Lamb, Todd... apparently I didn't get the Ebony memo the last couple of days. 🤠
I agree John, this move to EVs is going to take some real action in infrastructure to support it. With 17 more years to develop the Technology who knows what is in store.
Yes, wether you believe it's good, bad or ugly... it's going to be a bumpy ride.
Such a beautiful and elegant Lambsfoot. 🤠

I'd feel cheated too... but it does give me the idea to cut them in half and then stack them in overlapping rows. 🤠

I wouldn't need to join the Amish, there are enough people around me that ride their horses are take their wagons to town already... it's very cool to watch them pass by my place. Sometimes we get a caravan of several horses and wagons passing out front. 🤠

Thank you, my friend. :)
a horse is always a good idea.
I think so too... might have to get another one.
Now it seems more like a Lambsfoot. 🤠

Back still troubling you, Jack?

Thanks Harvey, I live near the start, so unfortunately, with a route of around 2 miles, the dancers are usually starting to flag a bit, by the the time they get back to near where I live :D Here's a couple of pics from 2011 (about halfway round), and a few from 2019

That's very cool  I used to sometimes see Gypsy kids riding gigs up the main road, but not for about a decade now :(
Well I hope you get to enjoy a bit of it and take it easy my friend.
Thanks Pete :) All the local kids are excited, and there's a nice atmosphere anyway :)
Back still troubling you, Jack?
