Good morning Guardians,
I first learned of the passing of the British monarch here in this thread. Thank you for the thoughtful words my friends, I appreciate them, but no personal condolences are necessary. I was born a subject, by an accident of birth, just as others are born rulers in the same way, and I had no relationship with our former Queen beyond that. May we all get to die peacefully, in our 90's, warm, and with few worries, surrounded by family. It's certainly the end of an era, and today I wake up subject to a King, whom I had no more choice in choosing as my ruler, and who I think lacks many of the qualities of his mother. My best wishes to any of our members who do feel personally affected by these events. A photo which moved me was this one of an elderly lady, quietly mourning her deceased husband, alone because of the government Covid restrictions (while the leaders of that government were drunkenly partying, singing, and vomiting wine up the walls of 10 Downing Street).
Lovely photo of your 2019 Guardians Lambsfoot Barrett, that was some nice Ironwood we got wasn't it?
Afternoon Guardians! Looks like you had a good time at the market Jack.

See Tool Man had two Foot Print wrenches. I have one or two of them around here somewhere.

Well spotted! They're excellent tools I think, from a rare survivor of the Sheffield tool industry.

I'm glad you had a good market day Jack. A very handsome sandwich the tool man was laying waste to. Glad you rescued Milo.

Thanks Dwight, that man can eat!

Poor Milo, he's such a friendly dog, that could have ended very badly. I think his elderly owner might have been better getting a smaller and less athletic dog really, she's very old, and very frail. Fortunately, she has a good son, who lives with her

That's another beautiful photo my friend
Grumble Towers is in silence today, as I don't want the radio on. I was supposed to be meeting up with my best pal today, as I haven't seen him for a couple of weeks due to him taking his family on holiday, but he's had to work unfortunately

Not sure what today will hold, but I'll have my Hartshead Barlow with me

Take care Guardians, and have a good day
I'm very pleased with the large framed map of Yorkshire that I acquired in the market last week

Yorkshire looked very different in the early 17th century, with many of today's large towns and cities, mere villages, if that, while towns of historic significance, are minor towns or villages today. Sheffield (spelled in an early form, the town is named for the River Sheaf), is at the point of my Barlow
