Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Who is the maker of this beauty ??
This is a "special factory order" initiated by Jack Black in cooperation with A. Wright & Sons of Sheffield (now under different management and no longer used by Jack) . I believe it was done in 2018 but I am not sure of the year. We refer to this particular sfo as an AC or Ashley's Choice.

It was a limited run of 27 knives, I had made for The Guardians, to my specifications, in 2018, using some reclaimed vintage Sambar stag for the covers. This was before the company who made it changed hands at the beginning of 2020, and was one of a series of SFOs, starting in 2017. I no longer have anything to do with the company.

Good morning Guardians, and welcome to the weekend ;) I hope everyone made it through the week OK, and that you're looking forward to doing something enjoyable, even it's just having a beer, and putting your feet up, accompanied by a Lambsfoot of course :) I don't have anything planned myself, rather unusual circumstances here at the moment, but I might have a hobble down to Charlie's cafe, and see my friends there :) Hope you have a great Saturday Guardians

rather unusual circumstances here at the moment,
They certainly are unusual circumstances and i was looking forward to an event i have been anticipating for a fair while. But due to all sport being cancelled in the UK it has been put back a month. It was a world title contest of the sweet science. ;)

I hate to hear that you have cut ties with that company because that sure is a pretty knife and where ever you picked up that sambar stag someone knew how to pick it out 🏆🏆

As a barber I like to collect trinkets of the trade from years gone by, this is a solid brass spring loaded bleeder , used in the not so distant past in a barbershop just down the street from where I practice today!

Oh yeah….. this is unveil of my new Charlie Lamb!!!

After 5 years of establishing a good relationship with the old gaffer, it was a shame. The new management quickly broke the guarantees they'd made to me, about reproducing my ideas and patterns, and I had no option but to sever ties with them. If not for that, I'd still be doing the non-profit SFOs for the Guardians.

Congratulations on your Charlie Lamb, it's a beauty. Interesting pic too 😎 My barber also collects old tools of the trade, as well as knives, his shop hasn't changed for decades. I'm just having breakfast in a cafe, but when I get back home I'll post a few pics 👍

Edit - Here are a few pics of Barber Brian's shop in Leeds market :) A shame I didn't get a photo of his old till, or even older till, I should say. He had replaced it not long before I took these photos

Here, as it was in the 1960's. I don't think it's changed too much. The prices have gone up, but they're still very fair

Thank you for the thoughtful words my friends, I appreciate them, but no personal condolences are necessary. I was born a subject, by an accident of birth, just as others are born rulers in the same way, and I had no relationship with our former Queen beyond that. May we all get to die peacefully, in our 90's, warm, and with few worries, surrounded by family. It's certainly the end of an era, and today I wake up subject to a King, whom I had no more choice in choosing as my ruler, and who I think lacks many of the qualities of his mother.

Jack,

I admire the strength of character with which you are going through this ordeal. You have all my sympathy.

Dan.

I've just had a walk down to Charlie's cafe, and back, which must be a mile and a half, so that wasn't too bad. I am only limping slightly now, and the pain is mild. I had a good second breakfast in between, and really enjoyed it, but I fogot to take a pic I'm afraid. I'll see if I can find an old one ;) :D I do like the neighbourhood I live in, it's a very friendly area, and I half a dozen quite lengthy chats along the way :)

Strangely, this seems to be the only photo I have of a Charlie's Cafe breakfast, and the one I just enjoyed was substantially bigger, with twice as much of everything 😉 I actually get the vegetarian breakfast there, as I don't care for the turkey sausages they do. The vegetarian ones aren't great either, but overall it's not a bad breakfast, and the coffee is great :)
