Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

That’s a lot of pie! 😲

Interestingly, the pies at The Raven — the pub in Bath that I’ve mentioned several times before — are made for them by Pieminister. I think I most are just standard Pieminister offerings, but they do have one made specially for them using their flagship ale. This one that I had the first time we went there was the Mexicow pie that he mentions in the video.

Reminds me of when my wife and I were in Annie's Arms in Sutton , Yorkshire in 1986 and the restaurant had only meat pies to eat . 5 different ones and they all were good . I know I had a knife in my pocket but it was not a Lambfoot . That Pie sure looks good Barrett !!!!!

My vote is for top right second down 👍
Nice eye Steve, that is an old J. Howarth, which Paul Mason carried as a boy, and which he gifted me a few years ago :) I miss Paul, he's an incredibly talented maker, and a great guy, but the maker's membership wasn't good value for him. Jack Howarth, the last of the Howarth cutlers, owned Wright's prior to John Maleham taking over. John wanted to buy the building, as he already had a business there, but Jack would only sell it to him with A. Wright & Son attached. The second photo below shows Howarth's old Bath Street cutlery works, when they were a bigger firm. My maternal grandparents lived on Bath Street, my mother was born there, and my parents also lived on the street when they were first married, but it was demolished around 1960

I choose 2nd group down, top right. It was a very difficult decision though.
A very kind gift from bonzodog bonzodog , way back in the early days of this thread, in August 2016. Manufactured by Wright's, commissioned by a UK dealer I imagine, with an extended nickel silver bolster, walnut covers, and a file-worked back-spring :)

One of the good things about this thread, it is only inhabited by die-hards. Been offline, surrounded by floods and without power. Just touching base, but will probably be MIA for a few days. Just saw that the regular event has stirred up the usual angst. Take care all.
Blimey mate, hope you're going to be OK, and back with your pals here soon 🤞 That's some house-sitting gig you took on!

On the left, fourth from top. The toffee and cream horn.
My Peaches & Cream Big 'Un, a lucky find at the factory Harvey :)

Special Day tomorrow, right, Jack?👑
Er...Friday? 🤷‍♂️:D ;)
He beat me to it, but I concur with echoscout. That looks like a TEW, but I have an “untrained eye” when it comes to Lambsfoot identification…
Here's another pic Jeff :)

I asked Jack. He told me to remind him tomorrow. I’ll get back to you.
Thanks for bearing with me Harvey, I was on my last legs last night! :) I'm not sure I'll be much help, but if you post a pic of the knife open, and a close-up pic of the tang-stamp, I'll try my best :)
Bottom right gets my vote. 😉👍
The Snakewood Candle-end? I got that out of the 'seconds' box at Wright's Todd, got a few cracks in the Snakewood unfortunately :( That aside, it's a fancy knife

That skinny beardie sure can eat! :D Do you know, I always thought the restaurant was called 'Pieminster'! :D The Raven sounds like a cracking pub Barrett, hope I can get down there one day :) I'm not sure I've ever seen those pies in the pubs up here, but I think they're delicious. I did manage to find one in a supermarket, cost me a fiver, but it was worth it 😋

I'll have to try and get over there sometime Harry :) Maybe you'd like to join me my friend :)
There are some nice ones Jack but my eyes zero in on the Top Photo and second down on the left .

Good morning Guardians, thank you for stopping us being washed away in the flood, and for your thoughts on the Lambsfoot pics I posted :) I've taken it as a vote on what I should put in my pocket today! :D I was exhausted yesterday, and certainly slept a lot better last night! :D Nothing too exciting planned for today, I need to catch up with some housework this morning, but maybe I can at least get out to Charlie's Cafe ;) Have a good day everyone, it's nearly the weekend :)

Beautiful Wm Rogers LF knife. I can see why you treasure it. Hope you are well my friend.

Good morning Guardians. Early start of the day for me as I have a couple of doctors visits and some cardiac rehab to get accomplished today. Not sure what I'll cary today but I will need it to be sharp for breaking down a lot of cardboard. Lovely day out - 63 deg F right now and going up to the mid 70's. A good day for some yard work.

Aw, thanks Todd, that's very kind of you my friend :) Thank you kindly :)

Hope you're all having a good day Guardians, it's pretty nice here today, bright and sunny :) I walked down to Charlie's Cafe for coffee and a croissant. We usually swap between Arabic, French, English, and a little Italian in there, but today I told them I need to brush up on my Spanish, which is very rusty :D For once, I had the advantage though :D ;)

I'm still limping, but I noticed that I walked a lot further today, before I started, so I decided to head into town, and pick up a few travel items I need for my Xmas vacation. The only trouble is, that kind of stuff, (plug adapters, etc), is pretty much seasonal, and has since been replaced by Halloween masks and Christmas cards, in most stores, so I'm going to have to do a bit of hunting, (or just buy the things I need online). After a good walk around town, I decided to have a Thai lunch, before heading back home again ;)

Wow. Looking fantastic Jack. Thai curry ! 🔥🔥🔥

Hope you have a great day

I love Thai foods but there is not a great option for Thai near the new house that I’ve found yet. Heading out for some appointments…

View attachment 1957638
Me too, but I can recall when I had to go to London to experience it :D In fact, when I was young, there were very few restaurants here that didn't serve English food. I always find it strange when I travel, the food served in Chinese or Indian restaurants in France, for example, or in Holland, is completely different to the Chinese and Indian food sold here (and very different to in China or India too! :D). Currently, Vietnamese food is becoming more widely available here, while other forms of cuisine are on the wane. I hope that you can find a good Thai restaurant to visit soon Pete, and that you have a good day with your Blood Lamb :)

That was our weather last week, Bill, but the cold front that brought rain, and even a tornado warning to my buddy, Old Engineer Old Engineer (30 or 40 miles north of us), ushered in some chilly weather. The worm has turned, as they say. 😞

Thank you Bill, getting there buddy :) I hope your medical appointments all go well, and that you have a good day :) Nice pic

You have to time those seasonal purchases, Jack. Buy at the end of the season, when they’re marked down, but before they’re packed away to make room for the next popular thing. We were not planning on buying a new grill/smoker, but the big box store had two Oklahoma Joes left priced at less than half of their usual price…

Yeah, we were standing outside talking, when my wife said “I’m cold and I’m going inside”, and I said “you’re cold because the rain is turning to snow”. But it was just a little reminder of what’s coming, and only lasted 30 seconds.

Have a fine Friday!C58A28DA-EBFD-40E2-AFA6-E8144BDADD14.jpeg

Oh, I'm obsessive about it Jeff, I buy all my clothing and footwear like that, there are some great bargains to be had :D I only decided on a vacation last week though, and wasn't expecting to have to purchase a mosquito repellant device, for example, not least since travel guides indicate an absence of mosquitos (local knowledge says otherwise) :D
