Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Last week at the market, one of the regulars turned up with a bag of small bottles of brown ale, that a friend of his had had brewed in Belgium. I was gifted a bottle, and thought I'd have it tonight. I'm sure Tool Man would be appalled to know I used a glass! :D Not bad :)

That 88 sure looks nice, Dan.

Thank you Jack.

I can see you’re not a fan.🤬 I’ve been reading English History in my old age. I was aware of the “Harrying of the North.” Dreadful stuff.

The Lambfoot is from Wraggs.

Thank you Todd.

Looking Good, Todd.
Thanks Harvey. 😎👍
😂😂😂
You need to try a new spot when you get a chance!

I went to a taco joint I’ve been visiting since around 2003 for breakfast this morning.

Now THAT looks tasty! 😋👍
That was my first thought, but Todd doesn't teach math. 🤣
I had some kids asking me for help with their math today in study hall…talk about “rolling the dice!”🤣

Woke early this morning to these headlines. Where i am is about 1/4 of a mile from a river that broke it's banks on Thursday, nature is a marvellous self healer, went for my early morning walk this morning, first one i could get in for 3 days, and the river is still running fast, but is slowly coming down, you can see how high it got, and has dropped about 10-15 feet. But there is still water everywhere on the low lying areas. Went for a drive an hour ago, most of the closed roads are now reopened and you can see water everywhere and the damage it has caused, but other areas of the state are still waiting for water peaks, so i feel for those people. Have a good weekend everyone. 🥰

A very kind gift from bonzodog , way back in the early days of this thread, in August 2016. Manufactured by Wright's, commissioned by a UK dealer I imagine, with an extended nickel silver bolster, walnut covers, and a file-worked back-spring :)
Really like that my friend. Nice One.
I always find it strange when I travel, the food served in Chinese or Indian restaurants in France, for example, or in Holland, is completely different to the Chinese and Indian food sold here (and very different to in China or India too! :D).
One of my Brother-In-Laws is Chinese. He introduced me to real Chinese food, so different to what we Westerners regard as Chinese food. He explained to me that the Chinese being such smart and proficient business people when they started opening restaurants here adapted them to suit the Western palate. I have a friend and she has just returned from living in Thailand for the last 20 years, she said virtually the same thing. She just loves Thai food, but most of the Thai restaurants here serve virtually a hybrid of Thai cuisine. She had a few of us over for dinner a few weeks ago and cooked some Thai food for us, just brilliant, probably won't eat Thai again unless she cooks for me. She has spoilt me, there is only one Thai joint here that she would go too. So a lot of what we are served, especially from Eastern cuisines, is not what you would call authentic.
Good Morning Guardians💂‍♀️
That is a beautiful example of the Lambsfoot knife. Magnificent.
We haven't been seeing as much of those #88s as I had expected, given the initial enthusiasm for them
A lot i presume were snapped up by GEC " Collectors " or flippers and not by Guardians, just my opinion.
It won't stop... at least not while their Face Book buddies are patrolling and making sure nobody calls attention to it.
Leaves a sour taste in your mouth my friend. 😞😞😞
Sad that some folks have no self-respect whatsoever :( A shame the forum has to endure this yet again 👎
I just saw that thread and had a read through it, some not very pleasant reading in some aspects. Very Sad. 🤫🤫🤫

That seems to be quite common here 😄

Yeah, I’ve seen the teenage boys here wearing shorts when it’s below zero out. 🙄🤣

I was planning to go down in 2020 Barrett - didn't work out so well I'm afraid! I was going to visit friends in both Bath and Bristol, but my friends in Bath split up after 20 years together :( Mike used to teach string theory at the university, but Isy has been a friend for about 30 years. I saw her at the 50th birthday party I went to in the spring, but she no longer lives in Bath. Despite this, I do hope I can visit Bath, and The Raven, at some point

Sorry to hear about your friends, Jack. 🙁 I remember you saying you had planned to go down there before 2020 2020’ed everything up.

That’s interesting, Jack. I may have told this story before, but when I was in college I had a job as a Paratransit driver. We had these two passengers, a married couple, who were both blind. As a hobby, the husband brewed his own beer in their garage, and we had talked about it a few times. They liked to go out on Friday or Saturday nights to Dickson Street, the street near campus where all the bars were located, and bar hop for several hours. I was the only Paratransit driver who worked that shift (demand was usually very low), so I would drop them off around 6 pm and pick them back up about 10:30, and usually I would have few if any pickups in between. It was a great job. 😁

Anyways, one night I was driving them home from the bars and the guy asks me if I’d like to take some of his home-brewed beer home to try. I was skeptical, but of course I didn’t want to be rude, so I said sure. I dropped them off at their house and he went inside, opened the garage door and came out with a few 12-oz plastic Coke bottles of beer. The containers didn’t inspire any additional enthusiasm for what I was in for, but I took them home and gave them a try. The beer was actually really good! A very pleasant surprise. 🙂

And I’m just now realizing you said your friend’s friend had had the beer made, not that he had made it himself, which means my story is not as relevant as I thought it was, and explains why your beer is in a glass bottle with a nice label and not a plastic Coke bottle. 🙃🤣

That’s like Mexican cuisine vs. Tex-Mex (which is often just called “Mexican” food throughout the US). I like them both. 😁

Gracias mi companero, fue bastante sabraso :) I am very pleased to have the William Rodgers Lambsfoot :) Those covers are amazing, beautiful photo

Oh, I'm obsessive about it Jeff, I buy all my clothing and footwear like that, there are some great bargains to be had :D I only decided on a vacation last week though, and wasn't expecting to have to purchase a mosquito repellant device, for example, not least since travel guides indicate an absence of mosquitos (local knowledge says otherwise) :D

That snow does seem early, but of course I have absolutely no idea! :D Nice photo with one of your fine caps my friend :)

Wow! Really shows off your Ebony Lamb though Steve, great pic buddy
Thank you, Jack!

Not very hungry after my Thai lunch, so I thought I'd just have a sausage sammich for tea ;)

A thick slab of Swiss cheese on the bottom, and a healthy dollop of dijon mustard, and I’d eat that. 😎😁
Looks like the thread-spamming taking place here is likely to continue for now :( Please be vigilant Guardians

Another couple of Lambsfoot knives by William Rodgers
