Amazing what pickles will do in one day.
I like simplicity, and i know there is a dedicated patina thread, but just use a knife, the patina will develop in it's own time. Have a look at the Prince of Patina's knives. I may be 100% wrong, i am no chemical scientist, and have no proof what so ever, but i reckon Patina allowed to develop with just use gives the carbon much better protective qualities and rust inhibitors. Every Carbon blade knife that i have had that has been a constant user i have never had an issue with rust, some pitting on some of my really older knives, but that is just wear and tear, but never rust. That patina is coming along!![]()
Thank you for response. It also demonstrates a user vs safe queen; the patina also adds to the character of the knife.I like simplicity, and i know there is a dedicated patina thread, but just use a knife, the patina will develop in it's own time. Love that dark wood,

Same here mate, compared to some of my other knives I haven't used my Lambsfoot knives much in the kitchen, though they get used on snacks, both at home, and when I am out and about, just because they are in my pocket, and get used on everything. I've never had a problem with rust either, and my knives are lucky if they get a drop of oil a few times a yearI like simplicity, and i know there is a dedicated patina thread, but just use a knife, the patina will develop in it's own time.
