Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Oh man there are some great shots of some Great Knives being posted!

I actually took a picture!!!! although nothing too arty or showing any stunning background I am so sorry everyone 🙁

My carry of late - my awesome AC - LOVE that little guy to bits!!!

As well as my latest Vintage Sheffield Lambsfoot - not the long slender version by any means- the Knife has had next to no use but has not been stored all that fussily and has been exposed to its surroundings over the years, Features the classic Sheffield Jig work - I saw this and thought I better grab it! As you can see I will need to clean the Jigged Bone- that will be nice and easy!
H. Deakin Sheffield, I found a Deakin in Sheffield ( James Deakin ), but not with the initial of H.

Have a awesome day / night my friends 🙃
Couple of beauties there Sir.
The temperature had dropped here, when I went out this morning, but it wasn't raining at least. I had some business to take care of, and then walked down to Charlie's cafe, where I found myself simultaneously speaking English, Arabic, and Italian (the dozen words I know of it), at one point :D

After polishing off a coffee, and a blackcurrant croissant, I went into town, where I needed to go to the bank, and had some other errands to run. I passed through the market, and bought some bread, noticing that the city centre's worst pub had put their Christmas decorations up early! They usually make a special effort at this time of year :D

I did some shopping, and managed to pick up one of the delicious chicken, bacon, and mushroom pies I had a couple of weeks back :) By the lunchtime, the temperature had risen to the high 30's, but then the heaven's opened! I'm just drying out with a mug of hot soup :)
They say idle hands are the devils playground or some such…. 😆. Sounds like a fun day Jack
At the beginning of last week, I ordered a spare Canon battery, for one of my cameras - £50! Since then, I've been struggling to get it delivered because Canon used a notoriously bad courier service. Since, presumably, the small battery could be posted through my letter-box, I didn't understand what the problem was 🤨 It finally arrived today...😖

Started smoking before sunrise this morning and will smoke until after dark. Brisket, Turkey, Chickens and Boudin - getting ready for a crowd Thanksgiving day. :)View attachment 1996030View attachment 1996031
Looks like the makings of a great Thanksgiving Dwight :) Cool-looking Lamb
Thanks for looking it up Jack- yes I too didn't find anything about the maker- man did I search for it before I purchased the Knife- a reason I bought it actually, one day I just may find a mention of a back yard/ small shop Cutler of this name!

My friend- that AC gets a lot of carry- I love it, its a gift from a great pal - I remember him walking away from me in the Train Station- I felt extreme sadness at that moment, you may have met him ;)

when you look at the shape of the Lambsfoot Blade of my Deakin- it isn't what you Jack Sir describe as the true Lambsfoot Blade with Both sides parallel the Spine on this one takes a definite change of course - but as we know there are many different interpretations of such patterns.

You keep well my friend, I will ring you before we get to Christmas - I have missed our chats.
It's not the first time I've been unable to find anything about a Sheffield cutler Duncan, it doesn't happen often, but it gives an idea of just how many cutlers have worked in Sheffield. There are thousands of tang stamps, and most cutlers didn't even have a stamp. I'm glad you're still enjoying the AC my friend, that was a golden day we spent together, I cherish the memory :) I'll look forward to hearing from you Duncan, it will be great to hear from you pal :)
Afternoon Guardians !

Been a busy day around here, taking advantage of a warm snap and getting some outside chores done before real winter begins 👍

'19 is looking good David :)
A fine and rare JB woolen slip for that beautiful ebony lambfoot to snuggle in.
I still have a few of those I think, I'll have to do something with them :) Too late to make a waistcoat I'm afraid! :D

Good morning Guardians, all's not well at Grumble Towers I'm afraid, I was up half the night messing around with my boiler, which is making so much racket, I've had to turn it off. I have a busy week too, and it's going to be difficult getting it repaired. Cold, wet, and miserable day here, and no heating. I have to go out soon, and it looks like I'm going to get soaked :( Have a good day Guardians, and a great Thanksgiving Eve to our US members :)
