Me neither!Don't believe I've ever had 2:00am birthday cake... that's a party right there.
I had been intending to leave about 12.30am, but had then been encouraged to stay for the cake cutting, which I'd assumed was imminent. My neighbour disappeared for some time, and it turned out he'd decided to get changed, and put on a suit! Then they had to sort out the Happy Birthday music, etc. It turned into quite a ceremony, with my neighbour taking about half an hour to carve the large cake, which featured a photo of him, and a lit firework, with the help of his daughter, and a large ham knife! I was handed a piece on a paper plate, and folks seemed surprised when I said I'd take it with me, and have it in the morning!

Same here Steve, the past few NYEs I've been in bed at midnight!That sounds like quite the party Jack. I would be needing an afternoon nap if I was up that late. I'm lucky if I can stay up to midnight on New Years Eve
When I first moved to Leeds, I went to a party which lasted for 5 days, but I was over 20 years younger then! Just having my cake!

Just got the book in the mail yesterday. I'm looking forward to delving into Tweedales book. Looked ar it a little bit last evening and went into overload from all the information. Glad you survived the birthday party. I found out last night my brothers birthday dinner is this evening. Guess we're going to Wichita for steak. I can assure you I wont be up till 0200.

I am the same way Jack. After a work week, chores and honey-dos usually the last thing I want to do is go out. It’s rare for us these days.It kind of was Pete!
We are going to see Bill Burr in a couple weeks with another couple. That will be fun.

Rosie today as I attempt to get in the holiday spirit. This will be the first Christmas after losing mum, it was also her birthday a couple of weeks ago. These first few are tough, I'm sure it will get easier as the years go by.
