Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

That was worth waiting for... Your HHB looks very happy with that choice in the finished picture. 🤠

Good Morning Guardians

Thanks buddy, absolutely love that pic! :)

I've just had the Tool Man on the phone for over 2 hours, because he bought himself a sheepskin coat on ebay, and they sent a woman's instead of a man's, and then didn't respond to his email within 5 minutes! I hope he never has to cope with real adversity, the big soft lump! 😣 I think Slippery Jack will be accompanying me to the market tomorrow! :D ;)

Good morning Guardians. Enjoying my coffee, my lamb, and our tree. We need to put on a few more ornaments and we’ll be done with the tree, then we’ll hang the stockings. 🎅 👍View attachment 2013239View attachment 2013240

Good looking tree, Todd! 🎄

Am I the only one that shaves without using shaving cream? Or do others not use it too?

I’ll do that if it’s just a touch up (i.e., I shaved yesterday but am going somewhere and want to look freshly shaven), but if it’s been a couple days, I use shaving cream. That said, I couldn’t grow a respectable beard to save my life, so I’ve long since learned not to compare my shaving habits to others. 😁

The Tool Man shaves with carbolic soap! Of course!! 🙄🤣👍

😳🤣

Water is a lubricant, right? 😁

It’s better than nothing. (I speak from experience.) 😉

Barrett btb01 btb01 's Santa photos in the EDC thread had me hankering for a glass of whisky and a mince pie :D I remember leaving the same thing out for Santa, as a young boy, but even then I knew they were actually for my favourite uncle, who visited on Christmas Eve :D

dOowrvl.jpg

That’s great, Jack! 😁 Nice photo.

Every year I try to convince Eleanor that Santa would rather have beer or whiskey instead of milk with his cookies, but she isn’t buying it.

Good evening Guardians. Snoopy and a lamb. 😎👍View attachment 2014745

This just started playing in my head when I saw your photo. 🙂

Thanks Bob, there are strikes by 'Border Force' over Christmas, and they're bringing in the Army to run the airports - Christmas leave cancelled :( My local airport isn't affected, and neither of my flights is on a strike day, but I could still be affected. I don't mind spending another couple of weeks in the Canaries, but I'll be very grumpy if I have to spend a couple of nights in the airport

I hope your holiday isn’t affected, Jack. At least you aren’t flying in or out of Heathrow!

I had an unexpected short work day today, no meetings scheduled. Plus, the weather outside is amazing. So, I'm Grillin' a Tri Tip for dinner and tossing some cornhole bags... Life is good. 🤠

You know, I’ve never had tri-tip. Hadn’t even heard of it before we lived in Arizona. I should give it a go sometime.

That looks like quite a meal, Jack! 😋

It’s warmed up a bit here in Minnesota, all the way to 34°, which is actually unfortunate, as it rained most of the day yesterday, then snowed a few inches overnight. I woke up earlier than I would have liked, and since I couldn’t fall back asleep and the snow seemed to be done (at least for now), I went out and shoveled the driveway before my wife left for work. Heavy, wet, nasty snow. I wish it would’ve stayed 10 or 20 degrees colder and just snowed, rather than rained then snowed.

Last night I took Eleanor to a live production of A Christmas Carol at the Guthrie Theater in downtown Minneapolis. The production was surprisingly good, and we had great seats in the third row. Eleanor got a bit scared by Marley’s ghost, who appeared with a boom of thunder and flashing lights, and the Ghost of Christmas Future, whose impressive costume looked more like some sort of zombie-Krampus than the usual hooded figure.

H323cv1.jpg

I could tell you it’s the lighting making her face look a bit crazy there, but “crazy” is kind of her go-to face for pictures. 😁 (Note the guy at the end of our row, who was wearing a velvety purple suit that nearly matched the seats.) 🤣

Before the show started, we walked out to the end (?) of the Guthrie’s 178-foot cantilevered “Endless Bridge,” which has a nice view of the Stone Arch Bridge on the Mississippi River at Saint Anthony Falls.

We also found a window that look right out on the Mill City Museum, built in the ruins of the second Washburn A Mill. The orignal Washburn A Mill, built in 1874, was destroyed in a massive explosion in 1878.

Eleanor’s school is starting two hours late today because of the road conditions, so that combined all the French toast talk a couple pages back made breakfast this morning an easy choice. 😋

That looks delicious Harvey 😋 My father was unbelievably lazy and useless in the kitchen, (couldn't even make a cup of tea). When my mother was giving birth to my younger brother, in between the visits of my grandmother to cook, he would give me and my sister bread and jam for tea, with instructions not to tell our mother. He had to make me breakfast one time, and to save the trouble of toasting the bread on both sides, he just toasted it on one side under the grill, and told me that was French toast! 🤨🤣
Not even a cup of tea?😂 Great memories well told.
Now that’s what I’m talking about, Jack. Continue to enjoy your day with visions of your upcoming Holiday.

Nice, but what’s he got against your Lambfoot?😂
New one? Nice one.

Thanks a lot Barrett, it was quite a lot cheaper to fly from other airports, but with all the rail strikes at the moment, I wasn't taking any chances. Turned out to be a wise choice, but the weather is in the lap of the gods of course :thumbsup:
That looks like quite a meal, Jack! 😋
It was really tasty 😋 I'm glad I had something to sustain me through 2 hours of Tool Man whining!🤣

That's about 10 degrees warmer than here today, but strangely, unlike most of the country, we've not had any snow yet. Rare London gets it like it has this week

What a great thing to do! :) Those are great pics my friend, especially the ones of Eleanor! :D What a suit! 🤣 That's an amazing bridge, and a really cool neon sign  I hope you enjoyed the French toast :)

When I was doing the Wizard's Quest many years ago, I went to a small North Yorkshire market town called Malton, where Charles Dickens stayed, and which gave him some inspiration for A Christmas Carol

Very cool John. Our Spider-Man ornament didn’t make it on the tree this year, just too many to choose from I guess. 😎👍
Good looking tree, Todd! 🎄
Thanks Barrett, the days of large trees might be coming to an end soon, enjoying this one for now. 😎👍
This just started playing in my head when I saw your photo. 🙂

Sorry for the “ear worm” but at least it’s a good ear worm. 😎👍

John, Santa Spidey looks fit for anything . . . just like your lamb
Thank you, Jeff. :)
absolutely love that pic!
Thank you, Jack. :)
Nice, but what’s he got against your Lambfoot?
Thank you, Harvey. :)
Lambsfoot knives cut thread... 😁
I hope he never has to cope with real adversity
Like obtaining a Forum Knife...

Super cool picture, Dwight. 🤠

He was absolutely unbelievable Harvey, me and my siblings used to joke that if anything ever happened to our mother, he'd have had to go back to live with our grandma! :D As they both got older, about once a year, my mother would be away somewhere, and miss a mealtime, so she'd leave him a piece of steak, so he could make himself a sandwich for his lunch. I called round on one such occasion, (when he wasn't even 50), with my eldest daughter, and he said, "Are we going to have a cup of tea?" He then asked me to make him his sandwich, saying he didn't know how to use the grill! I showed him how to use it, but ended up making the sandwich anyway. He was an intelligent man, but (a bit like Tool Man), you wouldn't have guessed it! 😣😁

Thank you very much my friend, it was going well! ;)

That’s kind of funny. I always thought my permanent place in life was to change the tele channel for my Dad, back in the day.

LOL! :D Yeah, I had that too Harvey! :D Since there were only two TV channels here then it wasn't too much work, thankfully! 🤣

I think it must be an English thing, blokes affecting uselessness, it's quite common

I think it must be an English thing, blokes affecting uselessness, it's quite common
Example: I am having to dictate a short email-related message to Tool Man, and spell every word, and I include a comma.

TM: "Oh, I don't do commas!"
JB: "You just have to press a key on your keyboard."
TM: "Yeah, but I can't cope with them."
JB: "The key is on the bottom row of your keyboard, just above the right side of your 'space' bar."
TM: "Yeah, but you know about these things!"
JB: "That's why I'm telling you it needs a comma."
TM: "Yeah, but you have to use 'cap lock' and that."
JB: "No, you don't, you just have to touch the key!"

In the end, it was quicker for me to write something for him, and email it, which must have taken 2 minutes, but he's so impatient that, by then, he'd just sent some gobbledegook! 😣 Well he thought he had, but since he had to attach a photograph, (which is, of course, considerably more complicated than re-building a Jaguar engine, or one of the many other tasks he accomplishes, with ease, regularly), he couldn't submit the form! 🤣
