My flight to Fuerteventura is at 8.50am on Tuesday morning, which I thought was quite a reasonable hour, until I realised that despite checking in online, and obtaining my boarding pass, I still have to be at the airport at least 3 hours before my flight

It's about a 45 minute drive to the airport, and I'll need to get up about an hour before my taxi comes, which means I'm not going to get a lot of sleep

All part of the reason I don't travel so much anymore, and I doubt I'm alone. Sorting out Covid passes, insurance, transfers, post Brexit health cover, etc, etc has been a lot of work. 'Border Force' are on strike, and while Leeds airport isn't one of those directly affected, it may be indirectly affected. I don't mind another few days in Fuerteventura, so long as I don't have to spend them in the airport!

I'm looking forward to seeing the sun again though, (forecast temperature is 75f on the day I arrive, 50 degrees higher than here), and having a break

Apparently, wi-fi is rather patchy where I'm going, and since Britain is no longer part of the European Union, calls are expensive, but I'll try to keep in touch while I'm away. If I can't get online, I hope the Guardians will pull together, as you generally do, to keep this thread in good order

Wee Staggy will be accompanying me, so I hope he has a safe journey in my checked suitcase. I'm taking a couple of cameras with me, so hopefully I'll have a few pics of him to share, upon my return
