Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Hi Guardians,

Hope everyone is doing ok. Up at 3am, and it's about 8.30pm, so it's been a LONG day. So tired, I'm even passing up on the 'free' food and booze I've paid for! Effectively no wifi here, and I'm having to pay internet 'roaming charges'! Will try to catch up tomorrow. No pics as it's dark, but the sea looks gorgeous 😊

Best to you all

Jack 👍

Glad you made it safe and sound. Try not to get to sun burned. Don't want you coming home looking like a boiled lobster. 🤣

Shout out to KCampbell KCampbell for my first lambsfoot knife 😁 It's a beauty and I look forward to carrying it!

Kind of a follow up question, I never realized it but all of my wood handled knives up and to this point have been resin impregnated. I think this rosewood looks great as it is. But, from a care-taking standpoint, would it be blasphemy to give it a light sanding and a few coatings of 100% pure tung oil? It may darken the wood a little bit. I usually give my axe handles and tools this treatment. So, it seemed appropriate here as well. But, I thought I should check! One very nice thing about the tung oil treatment is it is a hardening oil so it won't go mushy. But, perhaps more importantly, I find it provides great weather protection on my axe handles and such. Thoughts?

Thanks, Harvey, your Hartshead is looking wonderful as well!
Thank you Jeff.

I think that's a fine idea. The Rosewood they are using these days; if it even is that, is pretty open pored so sealing it is a good idea IMO.

I thought so as well. It does seem quite porous which is what gave me the thought in the first place. I'll give it some love and try to post a follow up here once it's nice and seasoned. With my axe handles, I try to stick to the "one a day for a week, once a week for a month, once a month for a year, and once a year every year thereafter" principle 😝 I think that can apply here as well, granted I don't think I'll necessarily need to wait a year to post an update 😅 Thanks for everyone's thoughts!! Much appreciated!

Good Morning Guardians💂‍♀️
Great Pic Harvey. That HHB is stunning

I think it’s all up to your preference. I have a rifle stock that needs some linseed. May be a holiday project…

Good morning Guardians...or afternoon; which ever it may be. Had to cancel golf today due to the weather being so cold. However, my wife said that I can't cancel my yard work. Pine straw needs to be raked up and the patio needs to be cleaned. Oh well, no rest for the wicked. My friend, the HHB will be my companion for the day.

Beautiful photo Bill. 😎👍
Good Morning, Guardians, from SW Florida! Temps have been down in the 40s the last two nights, waking up with the covers pulled up around your neck!
The coffee tastes extra good on a morning like this, especially shared with Beni and the BladeForums bunch.

Great idea Pete. We’re headed to -5 Thursday night and a high of 5 on Friday. 40-50 mph wind. D01166EE-F08A-4A07-8A2F-F15D779F5601.png
