I got a promotion to the job I have aspired to for 9 years. My wife and I bought our first home with a yard that she and the dogs love. My nephew graduated from high school. My loving Grandmother turned 100 years old in June. And I’ve managed to meet some amazing people here. A rather good year, I say.

Sounds like it was a really great year... I hope that trend continues through 2023.

We dropped anchor for lunch, and a few folks had a dip in the shallow, blue waters, while most just admired the views, had a beer, or went to look at the fish through the windows below deck.

There were plenty of fish, but nothing too exciting.

Captain Caesar kept an eye on the swimmers.

I ate my lunch, and admired the views.

Good morning Guardians, and Happy New Year everyone I hope it's a happy one for everyone I was supposed to go to my neighbours to see in the New Year, (which I would have rather avoided because of my ankles), but he let me know, around 10.00pm, that he was off to a friend's birthday party. It wasn't entirely a surprise, and meant I could go to bed early Lots of fireworks here, as usual, my area is kind of noted for them, and they were going off until at least 2.30am I'll probably have a glass of bubbly with my neighbours later, but I'd still like to rest my ankles a bit today. Pinning up my new calendar, courtesy of Mr & Mrs Tyson A Wright Hope 2023 gets off to a great start for you Guardians

Reminiscing on what 2022 was for me and my family. It was a good year.

I got a promotion to the job I have aspired to for 9 years. My wife and I bought our first home with a yard that she and the dogs love. My nephew graduated from high school. My loving Grandmother turned 100 years old in June. And I’ve managed to meet some amazing people here. A rather good year, I say.

I will leave the challenges off this post. I just wanted to share the good.

After lunch, we weighed anchor, (a day in the bay, and I think I'm a sailor!), and cruised back in the direction of Morro Jable

You can see the causeway I walked along a couple of days ago, and the Hill of No Reason!

We were actually still a long way out at sea though, sailing almost as far as the Morro Jable lighthouse.

As we headed back towards the harbour, Muhammed, the Moroccan member of the crew, got rid of the chicken left over from lunch

He's lucky he's not in Whitby, or one of the other Yorkshire coastal towns, the gulls there would have had his leg off!

After my boat trip, I was dropped off, by coach, close to the skeleton of the Minke whale, and thought I'd take a few pics

I thought I'd go and take a photo from the other side, but then noticed a movement on the ground next to the boardwork, Barbary ground squirrels! Found them at last!

I'd put my main camera away, so to give me time to get it out again, I quickly sliced an apple onto the ground with my Lambsfoot.

Seemed to work

It was time to head back to the hotel, for a cocktail before dinner
