Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I hope so Bob, here most hang them facing up, but not everyone I guess :) You too buddy, I only got mildly wet! :D

Suitable background :D

It really is a horrible day here, and I was glad I had the formerly-smelly Barbour on! :D I mentioned going to a friend's leaving party today. That was shorthand, as she is really an acquaintance I've known for a long time. Not really someone I would socialise with, though we have mutual friends. She is also a terrible snob. Somewhat typically, rather than cooking, she asked others to bring food, and I was going to make a pasta dish, which is why I had to go to town (needed one ingredient). However, while passing through the market, I had an idea! On the cake stall, they were selling whole boxes of packets of good quality crisps (potato chips) for £3 a box, so I bought a couple of bags of nice breadcakes, and a box of crisps. I'll butter the breadcakes, and take them down, with the box of crisps, for people to make crisp sandwiches!! 🤣 🤣
Or let Toffy-nose butter her own breadcakes!

If she reads BladeForums, you're in more trouble than I am.

Good morning Guardians, a gloomy day here today. I need to nip into town today to pick up some shopping. A friend and neighbour is leaving Leeds, and having a bit of a leaving do this afternoon, so I thought I'd take some food. Starting the day with my Charlie Lamb again, but I might switch out for some stag later. Shown with a leaving gift for my friend. Have a great weekend Guardians

Good morning everyone, May it be a good one for you.

Your senator is looking good Bob. 😎👍

Sounds like she could use some Scotch to go along with that sandwich Jack! 🤣🤣🤣

One of the old Sheffield terms for cutler was 'Apron-men'. Mucky old leather ones I am sure, very different to this natty Henderson's example my pal gifted me for Christmas! :D I hope he didn't get stung too much!

That’s great! 😁

Good day Guardians. Thought I’d be back at work today, but instead I’m waiting on the cable company. They’re installing these fire tv sticks, no cable anymore…so do we still call them the cable company? 🤔
Either way, I’m still sitting here with my Lamb as company. 😎👍
View attachment 2034231

I hope the “cable” company didn’t charge you too much to “install” those. 😳 That’s what we use on our TVs for streaming, and we like them, but you literally just have to plug ‘em in. 😉 We switched from satellite to a streaming “cable” service when we moved a few years ago, but we really don’t use it much anymore, and it costs more than all our other streaming services (Netflix, etc.) combined, so I’m thinking about canceling it.

Called it an early day from work as we are having a good old blizzard here today. Six inches of snow and still coming down. The roads are really slick and all the idiots are out on the roads. I managed to make it home unscathed 👍

Big Ebony today having a snow bath 😮

If you think there are idiots out driving around in the snow up here, you should see it down south when it snows an inch or two. 😳😁

It's been a rough beginning to 2023. Cherri and I held Willow (see avatar) last night until she drew her last breath. Words cannot describe the loss we feel right now but time will help with the healing. This is the payment we all must remit for the joy they bring into our lives. RIP sweet little one.

So sorry to hear about Willow, Dwight. 😢

Good morning Guardians !

Snowstorm dumped another 10 inches overnight here. schools and a lot of businesses closed this morning. Just finished clearing my deck and shoveling the front. Thankfully that's about all I have to do. I live in a Townhouse and we have a service that shovels the sidewalks and plows the driveways. My deck is however quite big as it is over my two car garage. I bought an electric snowblower a couple of years ago as it was getting to much for me to shovel anymore.

Nice photos, Steve. That was a pretty good snow, wasn’t it? I’ve had enough shoveling for one week, at least, and the snow pile next to our driveway is getting rather mountainous.

Hello Guardians!

Happy New Year to you all and hope the holiday break gave all you a renewed (and positive) outlook!

I've been a little quiet on my end due to little things like work, travel, and family time lol.

Jack Black Jack Black ,

Thank you for your sharing your travel adventure! It was a piece of mental serenity for me to see your pictures and enjoy the holidays, albeit wasn't easy with the horrible WIFI speeds where I was staying lol.

My travel to Germany this year was less than stellar, with my wife contracting COVID during the first week of our travels and quarantining through the New Year! Poor soul traveled 5000+ miles to be close to her family, only to be quarantined!!!

Luckily, with the 'cheaper' rapid tests available, myself and my kids were able to test daily before going out to enjoy the holiday festivities...AND, still negative with no symptoms!

And of course...drinks...

Traditional Glühwein (They normally produce cups for each year but coming out of Covid, they didn't have one for this year available for me to buy!)

And...more drinks! Didn't think I'd be drinking a Bourbon in Germany! :D

Beer is practically cheaper than water there...those are prices for 20 - 0.5L bottles!

Of course, can't forget the fireworks for the New Year!

Finally, a few light passes and ready again!

Nice photos from your trip, Ken. Sorry to hear your wife had to miss so much of it. 🙁

LOL! :D Here's something like what the conversation went:

JB: "Have you checked your Spam folder?"
TM: " What's that?"
JB: "Spam is all the rubbish you get sent. Some of it is filtered out automatically, and goes into a special folder."
TM: "Yeah, but I don't believe in it."
JB: "Well, it exists whether you believe in it or not."
TM: "Yeah, but I don't have anything to do with it."
JB: "You'll still receive emails you don't want."
TM: "I delete them. I delete all my emails. I just keep a page of them."
JB: "Why do you delete them all?"
TM: "So I don't have to go searching for things. I've just got a few you sent me, like when you send me photos from the market."
JB: "Why don't you just download them?"
TM: "Oh, I can't be doing with that."
JB: "It's really easy."
TM: "I can't be bothered with it."
JB: "I'll come up [to your house], and show you how to do it sometime, it's really straightforward."
TM: "I just keep it open all time."
JB: "Your computer?"
TM: "Yeah, and my email."
JB: "It's open all the time?"
TM: "Yeah, I can't be doing with passwords, I only have one password, for everything [tells me password]."
JB: "Well, what you'll have open is your Inbox, but there'll be various other folders.."
TM: "No, I don't have 'em!"
JB: "There'll be there, whether you notice them or not. There'll be an Outbox folder, a Spam folder, and maybe one or two more."
TM: "Yeah, but I don't believe in them."
JB: "Imagine if I came to you with car trouble, and you said, 'Have you checked the spark plugs?' And I said, 'I don't believe in them." So you said, 'Have you checked the points?' And I said, "I don't believe in them either!" You'd think I was an idiot.
TM: "Yeah."
JB: "Well, it's like that with the Spam folder, it exists whether you like it or not."
TM: "Yeah, but you've got time to do these things."
And on, and on! o_O

Oh my… 😳🤣🤣🤣

Jack, thanks again for sharing all your vacation photos. I had intended to share some of our trip down to Arkansas for Christmas, both here and in other threads. I even brought my KOTY stag HHB with me. But in the end the whole week sort of turned into an unplanned forum hiatus for me, which has extended even into this week. I didn’t really take any knife photos, got way behind on threads here and only posted a few comments here and there. I’m slowly working on catching up reading threads and getting back into the swing of things.

Remember...pinky up when holding that tea cup.
LOL! :D Well, that's the thing Bob, despite all her pretensions, and outright snobbery, she shares a house with these other ageing 'Bohemian types', but they don't own a single cup without a chip, or that matches any of the others. Twenty years ago, I was literally just moving in, hadn't even got half my stuff through the door, let alone unpacked, and she turned up. I asked if she wanted a drink, meaning a cup of tea or coffee, and despite claiming to barely drink alcohol, she asked for a glass of red wine. I opened a box of glassware, but there were only white wine glasses in it, the others still being in storage. She whined, "You've given me a white wine glass!" As if I had just p*&ssed in her hat or something!🤨🤣
nice photo Jack. 😎👍

Thanks Todd! :D I know some other people attending, so our plan is just to separate ourselves, and get drunk! :D Got to take our own booze of course
Good morning Guardians. Nice sunny Saturday morning here in coastal southern NC. Had a frost last night that lingered this morning. Going into the 50's today so it will be pleasant for my stroll. I'll be back carrying my HHB today.

Nothing wrong with taking some time off Barrett, you know we'll always keep a chair free for you here ;)

What do you reckon, posh enough?! :D I'll be serving them straight out of the box! 🤣🤣

They didn’t charge us anything for the install or the sticks. I guess they figure they gouge us enough each month. 😄👍

Glad you stuck it out with the Barbour, Jack. Your acquaintance sounds like a real character. Another one for your memoir.😂

Thanks, yes biggest we've had in a few years I'd say.
