Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Congratulations David, I'm glad that at least one of our regulars was able to score one of those  What about that names though?! o_O
I dont know if it was intentional. But I thought it a small tribute to the man who has done more to promote the Lambsfoot knife more than any other. 🤠
Congrats buddy, very nice looking Lamb !
Thank you Buddy!🤠
I like it David. The touch of copper is appealing.
Thank you Bob. 🤠

LOL! :D Thank you my friend, but I'm sure it's just a coincidence :D :)

I had arranged to meet my ex's daughter, Eve, today. We meet up for lunch every couple of weeks, and had arranged to visit Kirkstall Abbey, a few miles out of the centre of Leeds. We had coffee and cake, and then drove to the abbey, but as luck would have it, when we got there, we found that it was temporarily closed, because they were carrying out some maintenance work  I took a few photos from over the fence ;)

We walked around the abbey, but were precluded from having a short walk along the banks of the River Aire, because there was other work taking place along the footpath.

As we walked back to the car, we discussed some lunch options. Monday is Eve's regular day off, but unfortunately, a lot of eateries are closed here on Mondays, which always limits our options. When I was meeting up with Nobber Al, the other night, I passed a small street-corner spot, which looked inviting. 'Dave's Pie's & Ales' is essentially a pub, and it turned out that I knew Dave, who was behind the bar when we went in. The name suggested they had a range of pies, but they just had the one pork pie, with mushy peas as an unwelcome accompaniment. The pie was pretty small, but tasty.

We drank ginger beer with our pies, and chatted to Dave, and after he left to rustle up more pies, the bar-maid. Definitely a place I'll head back to for a pint  We were going to go for coffee, but spotted that Kirkstall Brewery's 'Tap' had half-price pizza. Kirkstall Brewery don't have many pubs, but every one they have is first rate, and the the brewery tap is no exception (though, on this occasion, the pizza was poor). I spotted a vintage Taylor's Eye Witness display case up on one of the walls, though it was filled with a motley array of what can only be loosely described as 'cutlery'. Maybe I can wheedle it out of their hands one day ;)

Nice pics, Jack. Those pubs look great! Funny that you ended up knowing Dave of Dave’s Pie & Ales. 😁

Thanks buddy, it was fun :) Me and Nobber Al are working on the pub crawl! :D It'd be nice to get Tool Man out, but he's a bit of a lightweight! ;)

Hope you can find some shade buddy, beautiful pic there
Remember I have a black belt in lollygagging...
had arranged to visit Kirkstall Abbey,
That is amazing Jack. Hard to wrap my mind around the fact that it was built centuries before Columbus was born. What enchanting architecture and history surrounds your home.
Afternoon Guardians! New Lamb. This is a very nice Lambsfoot. Probably see lots of pocket time and use. It will be interesting to see how it ages with use.

Wow! I didn't even know those existed. I rarely look at anything related to GEC. Very cool David, I really like it!

Amazing post - thank you Jack as you go to so much trouble!

Thanks Barrett :) Yeah, still took me a minute to work out it was his place! :D ;)
LOL! :D Those days are long gone for me I'm afraid! :D This pub crawl will have half a dozen pubs, but every one a gem :D :) I remember about a dozen years ago, a friend of mine, Ferran, organised a pub crawl for his birthday, the problem was that, not only were there about a dozen pubs, but there was more than a mile between some of them, and only 3 hours to cover them all. If I remember correctly, we had a couple of pints in the first one, 'The Scarborough Taps', walked half a mile or so to 'The Grove', had a couple of pints there, then walked to 'The Palace', about a mile away. After another 2 pints, Ferran divulged his route, which he'd previously kept secret, and we ended up staying in The Palace! :D

Thanks Dwight, those monks owned everything around here at one time! It's an impressive building to visit
Nice to see the Pile side, my friend, which looks to have just looks to have just as much character as the Mark  Great pic :)
Probably so. But a nice coincidence never the less. 🤠
Thank you buddy :)
Better late (or early) than never friends. This 🐑 today.

***this can does taste well, Jack. I had to get an IPA and banish the thoughts of the rocket pop IPa. 😆

I'm glad that one cleansed your vicarious memory of my foul brew Pete! :D
Anyone from the Guardians have any luck today. ;)
I was fast asleep! :D

Thank you very much Duncan, hope you're keeping well brother :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone's week got off to a good start :) It's cloudy, and cooler, here today, so it might be a good time for me to catch up with some work. I do need to go out, and get some groceries at some point though. Carrying my trusty Hartshead Barlow :) Have a good day Guardians

The HHB is sitting pretty in that fine box. It looks like some time and great craftsmanship were involved in the making.
